Anyone played this yet? (In B4 Toni)

I have the game, but I haven't opened it yet :lew:

I'm not sure why I haven't played and opened it yet really. :hmmm:

Also, here are 2 pictures of the cases (plastic and steelbook) from my instragram, lol.

unlike you lucky americans, we don't get the game until friday, but i'm super looking forward to it....... going to be sooo much fun, had great reviews toooo

EDIT: I played the demo like 3 times.... loved the demo btw :)

I am currently playing through it now and let me tell you it is a brilliant and amazing game
I'm about 35 hours in and am currently working on errands and bounty hunts. This might actually be the first game i try to plat.

The artwork and voices are really great and the story so far is a lot of fun. The battle system is way easier than the demo made it out to be as well and it is very enjoyable!

What are you waiting for Raul!!!!!!!! :rage: Open that shit up and get playing!!!!!!!!!

lmfao I just saw your inb4toni hahahahaha

also fu for getting the steal case :(

thanks toni for posting, had to make another edit :inlove:

I dn if america or that are getting it, but PS+ members in the eu are getting a ps3 theme tomorrow in our psn update.... wondering how that going to look

>_> I know right? I haven't been able to put it down. I've had it for about 5 days now though.
I've mostly spend that time on side quests and catching familiars tbh....which I think makes me even sadder hahaha

ToGF is a bit poop compared to this I think :(

Yeah, I read that in the reviews, it had some Pokemon elements to it (catching the familiars).

Dammit, now I really wanna play :wacky:...

It's a mixture between pokemon and the Tales games.
You can evolve the familiars and stuff, it makes spending time grinding and stuff more fun. You can customise each familiar with their own weapons and stuff too, there's heaps to do. 300 of them to catch too

the only thing that's kinda weird about it is it's a tiny bit childish but that really doesn't take much away from how fun it is... you just have to get used to some of the stupid town names, familiar names and the puns that the characters come out with.

I am playing in English but most people will probably prefer the Japanese voices

I liked the voice actors from the demo... The girl in the fire area.... That British voice <3

:hmmm: This game seems childish as hell like a kids game. Developed/published by Level 5/Ghibli?
That does make me curious. Ive seen some reviews and overall its good but will it really be the saviour of oldskool turnbased rpg genre?

I dont know...I hope so but so far this game has a lot of potential I hope this succeeds and makes SE feel ashamed of their latest atrocities. For this reason alone I might buy this just to support the project haha!!

It is a bit childish but that doesn't take away from the game play which is amazing. You shouldn't judge a game because it's a little childish.

Well I saw Raul's pics on instagram and that was the first time (I think) I ever heard/saw this game. I know absolutely nothing about it. Tom mentioned it as well.

I dont know...Is it worth the 60 bucks?

This game really intrigued me tbh... a more than good jrpg and finally on ps3 other than Wii.

It was worth the $60 for me, I'm enjoying this game more than any game I've played in a very long time, I guess it just depends on if JRPGs are your thing and if you can handle some of the childishness really

I really don't like seeing the term "childish" used when some people talk about this game because the connotations of that word imply that this game is simply for small children, so adults should get the hell out now. Or alternatively, "childish" also makes me think of Duke fucking Nukem Forever and the puerile, pretentious faeces-covered toilet they call adult humour that would appeal to an immature "adult" that have it in their heads that it's all grown up and shit. So I prefer to look at this game as being whimsical and childlike in that it invokes that magical feeling of childhood nostalgia that an adult in particular should be playing, otherwise you have no soul in you.

Of course, I have no idea what the story is, but people have been calling it childish too. And by that I presume it's just as childlike and whimsical as a good classic Disney film or any Studio Ghibli film. Because that's apparently inherently a bad thing, right? No self-respecting adult would dare go near them, right? Don't worry if anyone disagrees, you can enjoy the story for the FFXIII games. I heard they're well-written!

Yeah, I would play this, but I have only have access to the PS3 when at home, and my holidays in between terms aren't exactly carefree given that I will have exams coming soon and long essay assignments to do. I don't think I have much of a chance to play any JRPG anymore with hopes of finishing them, given that I can sometimes be rather obsessive-compulsive with them. I guess I could get this in the summer. It's pretty much the shining star in the JRPG band this year (not that there's many of them) and Ni No looks like it can easily take a shit on Tales of Xillia (if it even comes out here by the end of the year), that piece of shit Toki to Towa and Lightning Returns.

I think people are making the mistake of thinking that childish is the same as something being family-friendly or lighthearted in tone. Anything, (Ni No Kuni for example) can be made so that adults and children can enjoy it, without being something that is only supposed to be used by children. A crossword could be described as family-friendly and people would not say "Isn't that supposed to be for kids?"

I plan on getting this *hopefully* in the next couple of weeks. I'm dying for a good rpg since I've finished Borderlands 2...and whilst this may be a little on the cutesy side, if the storyline is good and the gameplay is the same then I will happily look past some of the kiddie-ish aspects of this game. From what I've heard though it sounds really good, so I look forward to getting it :ryan:

:hmmm: I think it's childish and child-like. Childish because of some of the monster names and things they say. I don't think something being childish is bad though

This game is kind of a toss up.

I did really like the demo, but I'm really not a Pokemon kind of gamer. The battle system was interesting but it was a bit easy to manipulate. Level 5 has a good record by me though, so I may pick it up just on principle of how often Level 5 surprises me with quality. How heavy is the game in collecting and such? Are missables/collecting a lot of the little bastards a heavy core element or can I skim when I feel like it and be okay?

@Ohri-Jin Play the demo, man.

:hmmm: you don't really have to collect anything unless you're going to do some alchemy or are planning on doing all the side quests. You can quite easily go the whole game without bothering with either of that though...though I wouldn't recommend it because the Errands and Bounty Quests have been a really amazing part of the game.

you have the same sound system as me :O

anyway
