HOLY CRAPOLA. . .

That looks amazing, the whole Dante as a teenager, with some issues, the way he was taking down those beasties. . . SERIOUS ISSUES.

and what was with the dark hair. . . Dante has white Hair. . . clearly later on in life he is going to die it constantly

HEINOUS LIES.

This Is War. If They Truly Intend To Commit Such Heinous Crimes Against The Awesomeness That is Dante -- THE REAL DANTE -- And The Devil May Cry Series, I Shall Lead the Holy Revolt Myself. Ninjatheory Will Burn.

So Let It Be Written.

It's a corporate decision is all. The demand was high, the original developers are dispersed, to appease the fans with a new title they resorted to outsourcing which saves Capcom the price of development and gives Ninja Theory a good opportunity to shine and everyone's happy. I don't think the fools in Capcom have the creativity nor the creative motivation to keep the series fresh. After all, they ripped off Metal Gear Solid 2 with DMC4, granted they made a better decision with letting you play as the original protagonist for a longer time. The reboot will help introduce new audiences to the franchise. If they like this, they're going to look for more and they'll find four entire games to experience.

As for Ninja Theory's reputation of the understated 'Heavenly Sword' I'm not entirely sure if the game design will be excellent. Then again Heavenly Sword was one of the pioneer titles of the PS3,, so you never know. Let's just give it a chance, eh?

I'm already speculating some theories. Maybe this guy was probably brainwashed into thinking he's The Dante. The trailer is suggesting some decent mind-fucking is going on with being held captive with an unseen voice talking to him, so who knows?

Honestly, I'm willing to wait and see what to expect. I know some people didn't like Nero as a new lead in DMC4, but he wasn't that bad. Maybe "Dante" won't be too bad either *shrugs*

I was loving that until they called him Dante, he doesn't seem to share much of a personality or movements with regular Dante so it is quite possible there is mind-phucking. Though the way his hair was going white I guess some weird fusion is possible, I quite liked the trailer this new character seems pretty cool and the enemies look excellent.

Another thing worth noting is that it doesn't appear this game is numbered, so I guess that's more reason to see this as an unconnected game.

Oh whoa, I totally missed that. I really wonder what's up then.

The narrator mentions a rehabilitation program, so...

At the very least the graphics and music seem pretty stellar ^_^

Devil May Cry have always been a hit and miss franchise when look at objectivity I think. The first game was a hit, the second game was a let down for fans (even though I enjoyed it), the third was another huge hit and the fourth one was another let down. The story in 4 was all over the place and people didn't like playing as Nero.

I think this reboot has huge potential to be huge as long as they don't make any of the same mistakes they have in the past. I think I saw a silver streak in Dante's hair so it's possible his hair will turn silver as he ages. Also if I watched the trailer right that weapon seems to change shape a lot. If that's Sparda then that's awesome. Making Sparda a weapon that is basically many weapons in one would be fantastic. I certainly plan to give this game a try when it comes out.

I have no issue with the idea of a AU DMC game, and while I don't like Dante's new look or attitude compared to his more white-haired campy self, I don't really hate it enough not to check the game out. The graphics and music from the trailer made my smile, so for now, I'm willing to give this game a chance.

But then I found out it's using the Unreal Engine.

Uhhh...Yeah. Gonna proceed with a little more caution now. I've just heard too much criticisms about how buggy the system is, ESPECIALLY on a PS3.

After getting around to watching the trailor, i'm quite pumped for this new Dante :ryan: barring that shapeshifting weapon (Rebellion/Force Edge pl0x) I have no complaints yet :awesome:

I do wonder, if it's before DMC3 (presuming here) will we see Vergil too? :ohoho:

Fair enough it's a reboot but they've gone and made Dante look like some snot nosed pissy kid. Fair enough they're going with more of a dirty punk feel this time around instead of the traditional techno/metal but we allready know what young dante was like, he was alot more laid back than what this kid seems. I suppose my only major problem with it though is his hair colour as pathetic as that sounds. Everybody knows Dante and his white hair, he's a legend it's just a shame to see it like this.
Apart from that if the battle mechanics act as fluid as in the movie (kinda reminded me of Prototype for a second) then it should promise to be good, i just hope there's more detailed story this time around with questions that get answered at the end =/
Also i'd like them to keep the combo styles and maybe throw power ups or something when you break S and higher, just something to keep it more interesting.

It's a complete reboot of the series so i'm not sure if they're having Virgil included, only time can tell

I'm going to state this as clearly as possible: It's a reboot, it's neither a sequel nor a prequel and it's not in the same universe as the original series. They're -NOT- the same Dante. This new Devil May Cry game cannot and will not affect the original series in any way. Your old precious Dante is still there in 4 complete and available games as well as a spin off anime series.

I get it, a lot of you aren't fans of the Sex Pistols look. But allow me to point something out for you, at least this Dante looks like a real friggin' person, and as we all know, Ninja Theory are among the few who treat the narrative as an actual part of the game, at least in the action genre. So hopefully we'll have an actual story and Dante will be an actual character one could become emotionally invested in.

Do you know why DMC fans feel betrayed when they saw this new trailer? because every characteristic they could identify the original Dante with is gone. The stories in the first 4 games were shallow and superfluous, and I know most video games have stupid stories, they usually are just there to give you a weak reason to go from point A to point B. But now they have a chance to make something more out of it, and we'll have a Dante whose characteristics won't be boiled down to his appearance and favorite food. Do you know how retarded the comments on youtube sound about the fucking strawberry sundae? Cut me a fucking break.

What chu talking about stories? Bad shit goes down and Dante rolls out, kicks some ass and BAM, game over with a thousand unanswered questions. That's how the boys at Capcom roll :kinky:

I just heard about this game. I am stoked about it, except Dante's new look. I asked the same questions almost everyone has asked already. I just want to know whether this is a stand-alone game, or does it go with the other games chronologically?

I hope this answers your question :monster:

i think the new dante looks cool to be honest

MOD EDIT: Can you please put a little more effort into your posts? This is classified as a spam post in a post count section. Just elaborate on the topic a little more. Thank you.

If that's the case, then maybe I will get around to playing it. This is one of those series that I try to keep up with but I don't really put that much effort into doing it, but I think I'll probably play this one. I don't mind it if they're going to make a new, seperate story. The story of the other games was good, but nothing spectacular. They started off good with the first game and then they just kinda trailed off and made it seemed like they just kinda made shit up as they went instead of really thinking anything out. That's how it came across to me.

I was really disappointed when I heard this news (you can tell with my first post, lol) because I was really hoping for a new story with Nero and stuff, but I started to accept this reboot and may probably play it when it comes out.
But the thing that bugs me is how Dante looks. I think his haircut is awful and he is way too skinny o_O if they would have changed both things then I can deal with this new Dante.
Other than that I think the gameplay will be okay.
I'm hoping some new info will come soon.

I'm hoping this time around Dante doesn't act like a giant jackass all of the time. I could never get into the earlier games because of how Dante acted. The only game I could enjoy was Devil May Cry 2 because Dante didn't act like an ass the whole game through and was actually cool while taking his job more seriously. But the way he acted in Devil May Cry 3? I wanted to cut the bastard. Devil May Cry 4 was also more enjoyable to play because you mostly played as Nero and he didn't act like an asshole all of the time but that didn't make up for the game's story which I felt was all over the place. So I'm hoping this Dante has more character than "cocky jackass".
