So far as I've heard from my buds, it's a small sidestory that's been added to the end of Death Note and may not be a continuation of the series, but rather the equivalent of a FFX-2 effect, but not shit. =]

Someone else has gotten a hold of a Death Note, but they're not using it like Light did an shizz. I haven't read much yet, but it's looking good.

also, I found page 12 to be somewhat humorous. :wacky:

Edit: I found it to be quite shit. :(

I know something came after the series that gave more information on several of the characters.

But the one you are talking about sounds like one of those very lame sequels to a good story.

It looks good in the beginning, but Near being the bastard he is, ruins yet another ending. It's not much of a sequel, the thing only goes on for this chapter, then
Near says he won't investigate the case, insults the new Death Note user, and the bastard writes his name in the death note. Faggot. D:<

This new chapter is likely just meant to serve a similar purpose to the Pilot chapter.

Just give a quick, linear story so the fans are happy. This chapter had Matsuda, that's enough to make me happy, haha.

But Mello is
dead
so I don't know if I'll read it. :D

I'd rather it had been him rather than Near
that caught Light

Well, Mello...did help Near do that. He admits it couldn't have been doing without Mello.

Meh.. Doesn't sound too promising.
All of my favorite characters are not alive...
I hate Near. I don't think I like the idea of anyone other than Light being Kira, but
that's impossible to achieve since he died in the original; the only way he could be put in a sequel is if Death Note pulls a DBZ and brings him back to life.

Meh, I'm rambling.
Shit sequel is probably shit *coughACcough*.

I've just read it. I don't think it's so bad for a one shot. It could've bee worse.

I find it interesting that
we never even see C-Kira. Those people in the studio were pretty stupid, too. They irritated me to no end.

Oh, yeah. I saw that a while ago. I'm sure it's just something to give fans a memorable feeling about an awesome manga. I haven't finished reading the manga yet, but it's been finished for a few years now.

Has anyone seen the "pilot episode" manga oneshot of Death Note? Pretty interesting :)

I hate Near.

LOL yeah while I don't actually hate Near, he has always rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I felt that he was too much of a second L? Or maybe I just found him to be too bland.

I'd rather it had been Mello who the series ended with.

Yeah the pilot that was in "Volume 13" It was pretty weird with the
"death note eraser"
but it was good.

I thought that this extra one shot was pretty good. I didn't realy like the ending of Death Note so it made me happy.

Didn't like it and it wasn't necessary in fact.I don't see any reason of it being added even as a sidestory.Plus what's the point of Kira if they don't show him?The people were stupid to think that Kira had returned when this Kira killed only old people and the other killed criminals. It was messed up in fact.

I agree with Sins, I just didn't like it, it was blah and the new Kira had nothing to do with the original one and killing old people? o_O blah it just felt stupid. -__-

I didn't really care for it, but I still found it quite interesting.

In a way I think it was telling the fans that there will be no continuation of Death note, at the end when Ryuk said that stuff about how not every human can use the Death note, I got the impression that the writer was trying to say that there will be no continuation of the series because not every human is capable of committing murder on such a grand scale and no one as strong willed as Light will ever come along again.

The new Kira probably thought that killing people who wanted to die justified his actions. However, once Near told him he was an murderer, he couldn't live with that thought so he killed himself.

Logically, it is quite stupid to think that the old Kira and the new Kira were the same people. But the public were unaware of the existence of Death notes.

If anyone as ridiculously unbelievable as 'Kira' ever came into the real world, it would be hard to believe that a similar power could belong to anyone other than Kira, because the power is just so damn unbelievable. If the public knew how Kira was able to kill people (Because they have a Death note), than yes it would be quite easy to say that this new Kira was different than the old one.

But because the existence of Death notes was withheld from the public, it was only natural that they would assume the two Kiras were the same people.
