The movie was great but they should have showed her a little more or at least said her name ! (and yes she's passed I know! but still) Anyone else think so....

Eh, though I would've like to see more of Aeris in this movie, it was to be expected that they'd limit her time on the screen for 2 purposes that I came up with: xD

1.) She's technically dead since the time of the video game, therefore it would be hard to pull off showing her for a majority of the movie while still acknowledging the fact that she's no more.

2.) Too much Aerith would be bad. It wouldn't have achieved that mystical effect that it had on me if it was otherwise.

Considering she's dead, and considering that the movie really isn't about her, the little they did show was more than they had to. Putting certain characters in was just a nod to the fans, including Aeris.

I would have liked it if they had at least said her name, but i think the amount of screen time Aerith had was perfect, if not too much. She did what she was there to do in the story - comfort Cloud, and reasure him.

In the original script (Apparently) they were going to show Aeriths face or something in the water as it rises from the church which cures Clouds Geostigma, but it was removed, most likely to save Aeriths face for the final scene. Although i think had that scene made the final cut there would have been too much Aerith, she's vital to the storyline, but really what else could there have been for her to do?

Consider the fact that - you know... she's dead, it'd defy the point death entirely if she had much more of an appearance in the film.

Honestly, I'd be fine with only seeing her in the scene where Cloud and she are standing back to back before Cloud confronts the SHM.

Nothing really more needs to be said except for this:

1.) She's technically dead since the time of the video game, therefore it would be hard to pull off showing her for a majority of the movie while still acknowledging the fact that she's no more.

2.) Too much Aerith would be bad. It wouldn't have achieved that mystical effect that it had on me if it was otherwise.

xD Pretty much sums it all up.

I do think they could have at least said her name though :/ That was pretty lame of them. But then most of the movie was lame :monster:

yeah it would of bien nice to c more of her but id rather would of like to seen a bit more of the gang, you know barret, cid, red, cait sith, and all that

Yeah I agree....I would have liked to see a bit more of Aeris.... I just love the way they made her in the movie(though Tifa and Yuffie look better IMO).

I think they showed her a bit too much in the movie. I think it would have been better if they had only given hints of her presence, and saved her actual appearence and speaking till the very last scene. I think the movie would have been much more moving if they had done it that way.

I also don't think Zack should have been shown at all. I always thought that in the FFVII world when someone or something died it got mixed in with the life stream and Aerith was just an exception to that rule in that she was able to remain conscious.

I voted no, primarily because giving her more screen time increases the odds of more of Mena Suvari's godawful voiceover. But, I agree with Rydia. Giving more hints of her presence than outright showing her would have been far more effective.

ok well obviously she's dead no one's arguing that, but its clear that she appears in cloud's thoughts. if she can appear in cloud's thoughts that many times then why not more? i would have liked to see a little more out of her.

I thought everything was fine. She was shown in just the right amount when it deals with quantity. As for quality, I liked the fact that they showed her full face in the end...it really built the excitement for Aeris fans out there, or so I think so anyway. The whole teasers deal was a good idea, I believe.

I actually think that the fact that they didn't say her name at all added a bit more of that mysterious aura to her character. I do believe that they have reasons as to why they chose the situations to be as it is. So no complaints from me. xD

I have 2 opinions on this really :/

1. Aerith is dead in the film, and really they could get away with not including her rather than making references and still using the idea that Aerith helps the party in the Lifestream which is a little farfetched.

2. But if she was going to be a part, I don't think enough of her was shown in the film, like how they only showed her face at the end of the film. I understand why they did that but it was a little irritating - if she was going to play a part then she should have played a more noticable one.

I think the way it is, is perfect. I mean, priority IS given to living people. And if she showed up too much, well, that'd defeat the purpose of her being dead and would kinda ruin the effect. Besides, there's no REAL place for her to show up again in the movie.... It was fine how they did it.

I think Aerith should only of appeared to grab Clouds hand against Bahamut and then again at the end.

I didnt really mind the amount she was in it but she does play a bigger part than characters like nanaki and Cait sith who hardly got any lines even thought they are still alive and for such a big part her name is never said

I would loved to see more of Red XIII's fighting style, in the short fight he has with Bahamut he looks awesome. Apart from his story in FFVII you never see alot of Red XIII in any of the FFVII compilation.

Personally, I think Aeris got enough show time in the film. She's dead, so you can only really show her so much before it starts to get old. It was great to see this side of her though interacting with Cloud to give him a boost of confidence and lift the burden of guilt off his back.

Playing through the game of FFVII years ago, I was never a big Aeris fan. However, once I saw Advent Children, I guess you can say she started to grow on me and I appreciated her role and sacrifice a bit more now.

More Aerith, but I can't blame SE she's dead after all. I can't complain about her scenes, they were awesome especially at the ending.

They could've at least said her name, I wish they would, just for the sake of those who haven't played the game, but by not mentioning her name, it made her more mysterious.
