Okay, so this is really about the PS1/PS2 games. I have had my memory cards stolen/wiped and misplaced more times than I can even remember. I hate to think amount of hours wasted because of this!

I have just recently got the end of FFIX. Just about the fight Ozma before I enter Memoria and such. One of my housemates moved out and the gaming area was completely cleared. He took one of my PS2 games, so I wouldnt be surprised if he took my ps1 memory card too. Even by accident, this is truly annoying and he isnt really a helpful person either.

Has this sort of thing happened to anyone over the years of playing FF?

ive got a couple that i just cant load any data on, and tehres one that only loads/saves when it feels like it. I have a PS2 one with a Timesplitters 2 save on and my FFX save file that Id be mortified if I ever lost it. Ive not played TS2 for years, but Im proud of trhat save file :wacky:

Its just frustrating when you lose data, it doesnt bother me so much if im mid game... well, ok, thats a lie, but it fucks me off ten times more if ive lost a near 100% file

Yeah, lost my PS2 memory card that had KH and a few other RPG game saves in it. My stupid brother hid it in his guitar case when we had an argument about something. One night, he took the guitar case to his friend's house to chill. He came back the next morning and the memory card was lost.

Like Kelly, I did get the occasional 'data corrupted' problem with my memory cards. I think I restarted FF7 three times (clocked in a lot of hours for it too) and finally gave up because the file won't load all of a sudden.

I know my mom has one save file on a memory card for the Playstation 2, it has the fully completed version of FFVII on it. Including beating Ruby Weapon for her first time ever, she had more luck than me - 'cause I still haven't pulled it off. I am however working on the perfect FFVII file, too ... someday.

I always lose my memory cards. I rarely play the Playstation 2 anymore, and before I got interested to play Final Fantasy XII again, I didn't even know where my Playstation 2 was. I do remember the days that I knew I didn't have enough memory cards for all my games, like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. :sad3: Such a memorycard hoarder I was.

a few months ago, I was playing final fantasy IX on my psp one day, when I went to save (was in middle of disc 2) something failed in my psp firmware and all my save data got correpted, including a 45 hour completed save, I was raging that night :hmph: that night sucked pretty badly :sad3:

I also losted a KH2 save with 100% saved, ultima weapon sephiroth defeated and everything :hmph: that sucked pretty badly as well :(

My memory cards got corrupted, so i said "fuck it" and havnt replayed any FF games since from the PS2 era and back.

The only real problem I had wasnt with memory cards, it was back on FFIV and VI (back when USA knew them as II and III on the Snes) I remember the first couple times I played FFIV I would get to the tower of babil where you fight the Magus B**ch's and the memory would get deleted! :rage:

Happen on VI a couple times too, just in random parts of that game though... I mean I did finally beat them... but sheesh... deleted shit sucks! :sad3:

Boy you guys had back luck really, the only damaged data i had is from a unknown game, im just sure its not any FF, fiuu.

I have backups of all my ps1 data on my ps2 along with the original ps1 memory cards, the important data of games from my ps1 (mostly rpgs) are left in my memory of ps1 just icase and i have:

5 ps1 memory card
4 ps2 memory cards.

And in total only 3 saves has been corrupted.

I've had this problem only two times. One was a accident was saving my game and the power cut out on a Digital Devil Saga file. Had all the first run through optional boss's cleared, and only Heat and Cielo needed to learn to more mantras. File got corrupted so not happy. Another was in FFX got all weapons and aeons and the stuff for the US version, and I saved over it when I started a new game. Again not happy.
