Lulu happens to be my fav character from X (and all FF's I've played for that matter) but I was really disappointed in how much, or rather how little input she has in the story. Tidus was the main char, Yuna was on her pilgrimage, Wakka was capt of the Aurochs, Auron was an unsent, Kihmari and Rikku have their people and landmarks..........Lulu.....? They gave her nothing storyline-wise. The most recognition she gets in the game is when you enter the cave in the calm lands (not sure what it's called) and you find out a little about her previous guardian work but that has little to do with the main story and it's part of a side quest. Not to mention very brief. -.-

It happens to be one of my biggest disappointments about X especially since I loved the story. The games most interesting character was made to look uninteresting. There isn't much to say about Lulu in FFX other than she really was just there for filler, which sucks since there was so much potential with her...

Its call the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth.....

Lulu she was not that underrepresented.......she was involved with Chappu Wakka's Lil'bro and the gave her some exposition there, she was in a group that featured 4 humans.......2 were involved romantically Tidus/Yuna......2 were into BlitzBall Wakka/Tidus......Lulu was not meant to be the focus.

Lulu is the complimentary BlackMage who S-E avoided labouring cliches on her and gave her a background role fitting in a story that was already full of human drama, the paths they the Character could go down were limited before S_E started repeating themselves.

They only have so much material to work with within the FFX story, so not so much underrepresented.........as it is the only had so much they could work with.

A cynic might say she was nothing but fan service with her ample+ bosom........I liked her aswell but never desired more than what she got.

Same could be said for Tifa in VII with those sweet, sweet ps1 graphics. :suki:

As for Lulu, I think she's represented just fine in the storyline, but very well in battle. She was a beast if you took the time to travel her sphere path. My first playthrough I never used the magic too much, but further playthroughs she always gets a turn every battle to ensure she levels her sphere grid fast.

As for the actual story, as Galaxy mentioned, her past with Chappu plays out in a few scenes, especially in Besaid (start of the game) and the Farplane. Her love/hate relationship with Wakka is throughout the game as well.

Also, you find out a good amount about her guardianship history when you first get to the Calm Lands (in the center village) as well as Carvern of the Stolen Fayth.

You also have to talk to her to advance some scenes in Guadosalam (sp) in front of Seymour's house. This triggers a few +/- relationships (hidden aspect of the game) which could lead to various changes (snowmobile ride, blitz ace, who jumps off the airship onto Sin first).

She plays her part well I think.

if you like Lulu so much then why don't you write

a story about her.

I have thought about writing a post X-2 story with Rikku as the main character.
You could do something along those lines.

It's curious that the hero ends up with the woman with the smaller mammary glands...If Aeris/Aerith hadn't died in FFVII Cloud would have ended up with her rather than with Tifa..that's obvious.

Whether it's Aeris, Garnet, Yuna, etc etc...

smiles.....

Hmm I may try that :3

Sorry I don't buy that. It's like I said, every character has at least some significant role in the main story apart from her. They had enough thought process to write plotlines for 6 characters but not 7?

I'm not saying she didn't have any info or backstory as a character, I'm saying when compared to everyone else not enough is explained about her and Square left people like me short-changed. Kinda like Penelo in XII, you knew she was there but all she really did was tag along with everyone. Never an important character or even a useful one (outside her battling of course).

I kinda agree she didn't have that much input towards the storyline for defeating sin...........but she did have her own background, she and Wakka I think were gaurdians of the woman in the Cavern of the stolen faith.(at least it was something)

She maybe slightly under-represented,but there are a lot other characters who are mysterious and you know nothing about.............

Other than that on the battle field she was a good magic user but when I learned black magic spells for Yuna I didn't really use her that much any more.

However I did realise she changes her attitude from the start of the game to the end towards Tidus..........She acts all bossy and stuff in the begining, but when she finds out Tidus knows Auron and He's Jecht's son her attitude changes.

To be honest for an ex-guardian Lulu lacked the same presence and influence that Auron had commanded throughout the plot. Her disdain for Tidus had grown rather stale after the first few hours of the game seeing as Tidus had proven to be one of the most valuable members of the party both in battle and off it, whereas Auron realised the potential and value each member brought to the group, in hindsight the latter's attitude being far more conducive to a successful pilgramage. All those factors betrayed her character throughout the game and I felt that the more she expressed herself the more it felt like less of a nag towards Tidus and more of a nag towards the player.

Auron on the other hand knew what the job entailed because of previous experiences dealing with undesirables (
Jecht
) and realised that the summoner's decision is final, and idea Lulu only matured to towards the end of her second pilgramage. I'd say in hindsight any more representation she received would have likely hampered the story and been unwelcome.

I don't think she was underrepresented. I think she had the right balance.

She was involved deeply with Wakka, Chappu and Luzzu. That's the main part of her story, but her devotion to Yevon with Wakka was also central to it. So when they discover that they've been lied to, they're more relevant to that than the rest of them.

I'm too lazy to read this thread
but like
did you pay any attention to the game op
there was that crap with her and chappu which added on to wakka's deal
and she played a big role in yuna's life
not to mention she was a big help with information
and there's so muchj more that I'm just too high to add
but it sounds like you're just hurting over her not being the star of X

Personally, I think that Lulu was really important- she gave Tidus a lot of the info he needed throughout the story, as well as being there for Yuna

She's just the typical secondary character who as her purpose in battle as a black mage...at least that's how i always saw her.

Her background and relationship with Wakka was exploited, i don't see what they could have done more with her, she as a lot of dialogue she interacts with most characters except Auron perhaps and that seems good enough to me. So i would desagree with the notion that she was underrepresented.
