LPC General Information
​

LPC = Large Piece Contest. Unlike SOTW, this takes place once every two weeks and can only be set up by a designated mod, but anyone can enter. Every other week there is a theme or at least guidelines set up for everyone to follow.
Here is an example:

Theme: Freestyle
Rules: Transparency allowed, can't be square.

Rules that apply to every LPC

1.) Do not vote for your own entry. You will be immediately disqualified if you do so.

2.) Do not submit the same LP in more than one LPC. That's just silly, and will get you disqualified.

3.) All entries, regardless of the theme, must not exceed a size of 700x700.

4.) While we will count votes without posts, posting is encouraged, as entrants have worked on their pieces, and it's nice to receive feedback, comments and critiques.

5.) You may enter only one LP per LPC. However, you may enter a LP made by you, as well as any number of pieces made as a collaboration with another artist(s).

Purpose for this thread​


The purpose for this thread is to discuss current, past and upcoming LPCs. Also, you can suggest themes for the next LPC, and winners for each LPC will be posted here.

Every other week a guideline thread will be posted, where you will be told the theme and other guidelines. Then you will PM .Rinoa, Stevie Nicks or Ulath your entry, so the voting will be anonymous. That way, we can cut down on playing favourites at least a little bit. When the voting thread is made, guidelines for the next LPC will be made simultaneously.

Anyways, you say not to go more than 700 x 700, but what's the minimum size allowed then?

:grin: I haven't made many LP's so this will be a nice change. The canvas freedom is what is particularly appealing... I always make my sigs too big so I cut them into 2 pieces. :wacky:

Anyways. New theme is anime... anime pictures can be really hard or really easy to use... google ftw :3
 
Lots of great entries this week. I'm surprised by the number of LP entries actually. I'm having a hard time what to vote for, so I'll put it off until later this week as usual.

I have nothing with that theme... -___- This will be hard... =/ Specially for LP.
 
Either enter, or don't enter. I'm getting REALLY tired of people complaining about a theme each time they don't like it, we're not here to cater to you.

That being said, I picked Anime because it's such a broad theme. It was a toss up of that and Real People. With LPs, I think it's better to be a lot broader with the themes than with SOTW.

It's only "unimaginative" if you make it that way. There's a great deal of scope for creativity and imagination with Anime, it's an incredibly broad theme.

I dont care if your getting tired of hearing it or not. People dont complain alot so get over it. Its the members who enter so il say if i think a theme is good or not and il enter regardless should i want to.
 
Er.. if you don't like a theme, there's nothing saying you have to enter. Skipping a week because of the theme won't be the end of the world. Some people think anime's going to be a great theme, and others have never really liked anime pictures so it'll be harder.

There's no reason to "get over" complaining, especially when it's not needed.

If you don't like anime, fair play, but really, there's no reason to complain. I just find it a bit disrespectful, that's all. Since me and Jess are just starting out with this.

Besides, if you don't like Anime, the next few themes should please you, since we're going to try something different each time. I just picked a broad theme this time, since it's still a new contest and all that.

Im not complaing i just said its unimaginative, geez why so serious. Heck it could be real people, a theme i love thats not imaginative either. If i want to say i dont think its imaginative i will, im not being disrespectfull :lew: Im not saying anything bad about you folks just saying i dont think its imaginative. :lew:
 
It's not very imaginative right now cause it's just kicking off. We're trying to interest as many people as possible, so everyone feels comfortable entering. We're going to be using some more imaginative themes soon, but we're just starting off slowly xD

I know my next theme should go down really well. It's something that would never work in SOTW, but I think it'll please those who want more creativity.
