Do you prefer anime series to be long or short? Short being 6-12 episodes and long being 100+ episodes. Medium would be the typical 26 episodes.

Usually I would prefer short series due to not having as much time to watch anime as I once did. And long series tend to get tedius after a while. However, few long series do tend to stay fresh and entertaining.

So I would have to say long series as long as the show can still be entertaining.

I usually prefer nothing over 70 episodes. The longest anime I ever got through was Full Metal Alchemist at a good 51 episodes. It was great. But I'd rather watch an anime between 10-30. I tried watching Naruto... Got to like Episode 67, and then just totally stopped because it was starting to get repetitive and it dragged on way too much.

I prefer short to medium anime. All of my favorite series are 26 episodes with the exception of Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, which was 39. I generally lose interest in anime if it's too long.

I tried to watch Bleach but I got to episode 20 and lost interest, mainly because I knew it was way longer than those 20 episodes and showed no signs of coming to a conclusion. The same goes with DBZ and Rorouni Kenshin. That's not to say these are bad in any way, I just prefer shorter series since I just don't have the time to keep up with constant new episodes.

For me it depends on how good the anime is. I usually prefer long series if there good because I always will want to know what will happen when whatever episode airs and then there's the anticipation of having to wait for the next one, and I'm always happy with what happens, so I don't mind it being super long (70+ episodes).

Typically it depends on the series I am reading/watching. Some series is better off long, some is better off short. While I agree that if a series is too long it is easy to lose interest, I would prefer a longer series than a short one. I get disappointed when a good series ends so if it is short then I won't be satisfied so as long as it is at least normal length I will be happy. Not to mention that if new episodes/chapters are being made it gives me something to look forward to every week.

Generally I tend to prefer short to medium series. I prefer slice of life and comedy stories to be short, whereas I prefer action story focused series' to be 22-28 episodes. Though not to say I won't watch longer series', both the Fullmetal Alchemist anime rank within my Top 5.

By the time they reach 50-70, I feel the writers usually start to run out of fresh ideas... either that or they get new writers and they mess up the series by taking it off-course.

26, I find to be a little brief though. Perhaps I'd prefer 100 so I can watch it to 50... just kidding.

I guess...... my answer is medium.

For me it depends on the anime.

I like short anime as long as the story feels complete, unlike a few anime which were short and were totally unsatisfying, for example: Ichiban no Ushiro no Daimaou, I like the anime, it was awesome. However, it was rushed so far it was finished in a mere 12 or 13 episodes, it really needed more screen time.

There are also quite the few anime which I enjoyed while being so long, like D.Gray Man, or One Piece. Naruto had so many fillers it became impossible to watch, so I gave up on that.

So I really don't mind the anime being short or long as the story feels right.

I think 26 episodes is a good length for an Anime. Though I don't mind some Animes that go on much longer than that as long as the stories are still fresh. The only Animes I can think of that I liked which have gone pretty long would be Ranma and Sailor Moon, and even then I think they were starting to push their luck a little.

26 Episodes Anime I have watched would be Strawberry Panic, Read or Die, Claymore, Record of Loddos War (I think) annnd that's about all I can think of. I enjoyed some that were shorter than that too like Black Lagoon. That only had two seasons and each season only had a total of 12 episodes. They have a third season running now and I think it's the same number of episodes.

I prefer short to medium anime series. I simply don't have as much time as I once did to sit down and watch anime, and when I do it seems daunting when I look and realize I have over 500 episodes to get through (*coughNARUTOcough*).

A bit of an over exaggeration, but a short/medium series usually is more concise with less fillers than a long one, and I prefer them to get right to the point instead of dragging them out.

How long would Monster be considered? It's 72 episodes long.

And Card Captor Sakura is like... 40-ish I believe. I know Ouran Highschool Host Club is short.

Oh, but I also like long ones because I love Sailor Moon. xD

In my opinion, anything over the general/accepted length of 24-26 episodes (which would be considered a medium length series) would be long. Anything that is 500 episodes is considered "drawn out". Lol.

I guess if you really wanted to, you COULD considered CCS as a medium length series. I think it all depends on the treatment of plot arcs and storyline material, you know?

Cardcaptors/Cardcaptor Sakura is 70 episodes, Ouran High School Host Club is 26. I'd say they were long and medium length, respectively.

I find myself leaning towards medium length anime...26 episodes seems to be just about right. Shorter anime don't get much covered and feel utterly random and incomplete at times (although in some cases, such as Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, this is a good thing) and longer anime often bore me to death...26 episodes is about right.

Although I adore long magical girl anime. Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew and Mermaid Melody are all awesome. Although its better if the extremely long anime (i.e. 100+ episodes) are broken down into series, in my opinion. Turning shorter anime series into one long one makes them much more manageable for me.

70?! Really? Hrmm... I don't remember it being that long. xD I really should have looked it up first.

And 26 sounds about right... I consider that short, though most of you seem to say it's medium length. o.o Are there seriously that many Anime with under 20 episodes?

Anyway thanks for the clarification.

Yea, there are a lot of anime which are below 20 episodes.

22-26 episodes is what the average anime has. I don't like short anime -13 episodes most likely because the story is being rushed, so it annoys me. Although I like a few long running series such as One Piece (400+ episodes so far) yea I know it's very long, but it never bored me, as it tries it's hardest to avoid using fillers, unlike Bleach and Naruto.

Long series like Full Metal Alchemist is nice too.

Anyway, I find it hard to stick to long running anime, unless it REALLY gets me into it, I like medium length anime, I HATE short anime (who is just being rushed) e.g Ichiban no Ushiro no Daimaou.
