There is definitely advantages to level grinding. If you do it early in the game you can begin working on a perfect game. Your gil will obviously be ridiculously high and not to mention your level will be much higher then your enemies which makes the game a lot easier. In most games i like to do this and then get through the storyline, but i do find that its just not as fun to do because you spend all the time doing the power leveling and then its like.. what happened in the story again?
Also, the level your at right now you can easily beat the game with. My most recent beat on FFVII was finishing with most of my characters at level 60. None higher. I've never power leveled that high before... usually just enough to make the game a bit easier to play through.

Now all I gotta do is keep at it.
Or, if I survive the Abadons, then I go in the little pitch-black rooms where you're supposed to use the Black Orbs that I sold because I thought they were useless
and get lost in the dark until I get my butt kicked. Very frustrating. So yeah, that's something that needs level grinding.

. I just stayed at the Corral Valley before the City of the Ancients. Whats funny is, I never got bored while doing this.
Not one monster/boss has given me the slightest bit of trouble!!
