Don't suppose anyone here has had it done, going off the general age of the place, but anyone that has a tattoo, would you consider it or are you put off by the stories of permanent scarring? Know anyone thats had it done?

Ive just had my first treatment, went into it after doing abit of online research, know some colours are harder than others to get rid of, its not just one treatment and bam its gone. White is nigh on impossible to remove, so Im potentially stuck with that for life lol (though white tends to fade with time anyway.... *fingers crossed* )

It's also not actually the laser itself that scars you, its the needle and sometimes even the ink, depending on what they have used - so you could come out with lttle to no scarring at all

It is essentially a gamble, seeing as there is no way of telling til it's actually gone and whether you are willing to take the risk, is the tattoo really that bad or are you like me and just thinking whatever, I want it gone and I'l deal with what's left over when it's over

Considering its only a couple of days, the colours seem to have faded quite alot, though ouch at the blisters - black doesnt leave blisters, so that parts ok, and despite popular belief the darker the colour the easier it is to remove, colours like greens yellows turquoise are buggers, summat to do with the laser not being able to see it/break it up properly

Also, it's pretty quick and no where near as painful as I was expecting. It was more uncomfortable after when my arm felt like it was on fireeeee

Gotta keep it dressed and covered for a week and can't get it wet though which is a pain in the arse...

I would get it if it wasnt such a lenthgy process. Goin back every few months, its gunna take forever and its not exactly cheap either. Though im more put off at the time it takes rather than the price. I wouldnt get all my tatoos removed just the one on my arm. Id be glad to see the back of it although its not something im considering. I just coulndt be arsed with how long itd take =(

keeping the dressing on is doing my head in, ive ditched the bandage and ended up taping the dressing to my arm, seem to be having a reaction to the tape though :wacky:

Because of where it is though, it still keeps coming loose, so Ive bought a tubigrip and am holding it all on with that, hopefully this will stay til i need to do it again tomorrow.

The actual process is nothing compared to this :hmph:

Im going every 6 weeks, back again toward the end of July, cant say im looking forward to another 5 sessions off pissing about with the bastard dressing, but I think Ive got it sussed now

And yeah, I forgot to mention the expense in my first post, it's by no means cheap. At all

If you think it turns out to have worked really well...let us know. I know people who want to get some of their tattoos removed but are skeptical because of the price, pain, and just how effective the process turns out to be.

I always wanted a tattoo of something..but I'm so glad I never got one. I'm always so indecisive about what I want...but I'm sure that what I'd like one day wouldn't be so agreeable the next. Tattoos would probably fit well into my indecisive brackett of what to get...and would it be agreeable 10 years down the road :gasp:

Good luck Kels :dave:

I wanted to get the one on my back removed so I could get something else done there but I'm not going to now. I've opted to get the area tattooed more to make it better looking. Going in on the 2nd of July.

If it was in an area that I had to look at all the time then I might consider removing it if I really disliked it, but considering all my tattoos are in places that are always pretty much hidden and hard to see, I doubt I'll ever get frustrated enough that I'd want to remove them.

Plus my tattoo is so freakin' huge that it'd take an age and a small fortune to remove it. :gonk:

hahahaha, im stupid, but not that stupid :wacky:

Its been a week and it's itching like fuuuuuuuck

The colours have faded a fair bit, its hard to judge the black as it still looks/feels kinda....waxy I guess

It's certainly faded abit

the more i look at it, the more Im sure il have to have something tattoo'd over where the dolphin is, seeing as its blue and its been there 10 years and the ink is deeper in my skin

We live and learn :dave:

Its a damn good job im laid back/have a sense of humour :wacky:

had my second treatment yesterday, it seemed to sting more than i recall from the first bash, but the after 'oh fuck my arm is on FIRE' was no where near as bad. I hate dressing it. its a nightmare, the dressing over my shoulder keeps falling off and im constantly taping bits back down

The bits with the colour have masssssive blisters

Also, since the first treatment, it had definately faded, and like 3 weeks later, bits of the black just started randomly breaking up, and the dark pink bits even as late as like, a week ago started breaking up, its a shame i wont be able to get a 3rd treatment in in time for my jollies, but im hoping there will be a lot more fading between now and when i go

the whole having to dress it every 24 hours is definately more annoying than the procedure its self

i should of took pictures... as it went on. i could of grossed you out wiht the massive blisters :wacky:

I remember in nineteen ninety something, laser removal cost like 30 thousand american and it left you looking like a fire hazard victim. Things sure have changed for the better when it comes to removing the things.

I don't want to remove a tattoo, though. I don't have a "I <3 dick" tattooed on me after a wild week of fornication and substance abuse so I can't relate to that feeling of wanting to get one removed :)

But in all seriousness, I think I waited for 2 years to get the tattoo I wanted just to make sure it's not whimsical. It's ugly as hell these days, the tattoo ...but if anything, that thing is getting recolored, not removed.

Ive become abit of a pro at dressing this now

I was supposed to be keepign this updated with my progress and forgot...

I had a 3 month break between treatments as Id finished my initial course of treatment, I went back last week and she asked me what I wanted to do, Im like, well, its faded a lot but as long as Im still reacting to the laser, Il just keep plugging away at it. She only used the one laser this time, so I was wondering if that would make a difference what with the colour, and it seems to have worked, so that's alright, my skin was really affected this time, I havent really scabbed that much in poast treratments other than the colured areas blistered, this time the whole thing was red and sore and looks burnt to fuck. I can see a difference, I just can't judge how much of a difference until my skin heals, I gave up on the dressing on Thursday, I can manage to keep the wholw thing covered with the dressings now, its just the tape, it ruins my skin, thats actually the worse part, where the tape has been has left huge blisters/sores, so Im just slathering the whole area in antiseptic cream until the redness goes, hopefully in a few weeks Il see even more improvement as the laser hits the ink and makes it break up, then your body gradually breaks it up and it ....kinda disolves I guess?

Ive done abit more reading up on it between my treatments, boredom really and wondering how long its gunna bleeding take to finally be done. There's a definate em[phasis on aftercare, and keeping hydrated, the healthier you are the better results your bound to get, but then everyone is different, the girl who usually does the treatment wasnt in when I went and the other one showed me that her tattoo had completely gone after 5 treatments, but she had a scar left over, Ive just had number 7, and its not looking like il have much, if any scarring which is good, and hopefully I wont need many more full treatments, Im hoping maybe one more full one, and the subsequent ones will just to be get rid of stubborn areas here and there

Its an interesting experience, seeing it changing over time, and even having it done, its summat for the grandkids at least hahaha, and hopefully they wont get anything stupid

Kinda wish Id taken pics of the progress now though, id quite like to be able to compare it to past treatments
Big Casino if you'd done it when you said you were thinking about it, you'd probably already have yours gone by now :wacky:

Im just a dumbarse basically, I went into it thinking Id gone into it with more thought than I actually did :wacky:

just some cherry blossom shit... if it was done better id of liked it, but well... :wacky:

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh been there got the t shirt....or the tattoo i spose is a better way to say it. I have accepted it now though and i dont care too much :hmmm:

I don't think I'd get rid of mine, due to the amount of time I was wanting both of mine. It wasn't quite the spur of the moment, though I do believe some ridiculous on some people. Namely, and not to sound misogynistic, tramp stamps done by shitty tattoo artists. I've seen a few dudes with awful art as well. The folks who want chains or a sleeve that looks like a 13 year old would want it. That or a Chinese symbol, that they obviously have no idea what it means.. other than it just looks cool.

I feel for you Kelli, I have just been wanting to touch mine up on my leg recently. Aka apply some bluish shadow as well as some more ink within ze tree on my leg. Hope you get a better tattoo worth keeping in the future
