Kitase hints at more games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series [3/11]

Yoshinori Kitase has hinted there could be more on the way from Square Enix as far as the Fabula Nova Crystallis saga goes.

Speaking with Game Informer, he hinted the series – which currently consists of Final Fantasy XIII for PS3 and 360, Final Fantasy Versus XIII for PS3 and Final Fantasy Agito XIII for PSP – could still see more games on the way.

All he would say on it was:
“Please look forward to future announcements.”

Only this week, Final Fantasy XIII released in the west for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 after a Japanese release in December, with five million units shipped worldwide.

Meanwhile, Versus XIII and Agito XIII have gone underground, the former of which was last shown at Jump Fiesta in December, with a promised E3 re-reveal under threat according to director Tetsuya Nomura.

Assuming that the original plans from four years ago haven't changed, SE did hint that there could be up to six entries in Fabula Nova Crystallis. There is a possibility that they won't all be video games - but other forms of digital media as well, such as movies and anime. If they are to make this compilation run (despite the pointlessness), they should leave the FFVII one to die.

So do I expect to see a Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII announcement sometime soon? That name has been trademarked back in 2006 and all we have seen is a possible logo of it. I wonder if SE plans to make a Haeresis.
 
I dont see why people are saying they are milking it. I see it more as a hey, we will use the same base story sort of and try out new things.

The only problem I have with this is, they should do one more sequel in FFVII since Genesis awoke. Tie up all the loose ends with it and then you can be done (or make a remake if you wish). THEN if you want to do more FFXIII stories, then thats cool.
 
Well, so long as they're not direct sequels/prequels, I'd be fine with this - expansion of the universe the games are set in is always interesting. But if I see direct descendants of certain protagonists starring in games, I shall not be pleased...
 
Well an anime would be awesome, however a cgi movie? I hope they wait after Versus is completed, Im looking forward for FF Versus, that game I must have absolutely....
 
I'm kind of getting tired of people taking one vague comment and making an article about it and then seeing it posted on forums like FFF and such. I've seen some ridiculous articles lately that have very little basis, and it makes me lose some faith in gaming journalism *sighs*

I wanna see the full interview, because seriously, people just take things out of context and hype it up like crazy >_>

"Please look forward to future announcements" doesn't meant more installments to the sub series in Final Fantasy. It could be progress reports. I'd totally wanna know more about that.
