Im waiting for the next person from the likes of inverness or the shetlands to come along and say the REAL north.
 
It makes me wonder how the highlanders survived back in the early days. I guess whisky really is an important part of our history and culture.

We're never going to be able to measure ourselves against the Scots in terms of masculinity.
 
Edward 1st Longshanks was a fearsome and strong English king. He hated us that much that apparently when he died he asked they take his body into battle, set him on fire and throw him at Scots in hope of killing a few of us :lew:

The English troops were scared of the highlanders. In battle they would take off all they're clothes bar a linen shirt. The Full gown kilt was for many purposes. The highlanders were essentially hunter gatherers so they could pick their food and store it in the kilt like a shopping bag almost. It was a sleeping bag when they had to sleep rough on the hills. If they were being chased by attackers they could retreat to the hills and use the kilt as camouflauge. In battle though it was too bulky and heavy. It hindered their ability to fight. Imagine an army of hairy Naked Scots charging at you with Swords whilst the bagpipes played in the background. Youd be crapping yourself.

Also @The Doctor today i had a cheese and bacon burger topped with haggis and a fried egg. It was lovely :ryan: I dont understand how you can hate haggis. Its absolutely fucking delicious. I think most people are just put off by how its prepared and what it is etc. They've never even tried it.
