I think everyone knows that gifs are shit. That is beyond dispute.
However, posting more than a certain amount in an hour, for argument's sake fore than 2, should result in the poster being banned forever.
Also posting more that one gif in the same post or more than two on the same page should result in a ban.
Gifs should be banned, because they are no different from youtube videos that start automatically.
I'm glad we all agree, now let's ban gifs.
 
Gifs are very different to Youtube videos. They don't have sound, they're much much smaller and the only place they ever get posted in is the spam section... which is there for spam :hmmm:

I think you are getting too upset over something very small.

At least some gifs. :hmmm: I can understand when people use them far too much, but seriously, trying to ban people for it is a little over the top. :hmmm:
 
There is nothing wrong with having Gifs as long as they're not the kind that have sound(i.e youtube vids). Plus, who ever said it was against the rules? If I recall, no one did. Besides, as long as the space on ones sig space is within the 500x500 limit, then I see no problem with it. :)
 
hal said it best. one or two are fine, because they can be funny in the right context. but if you're kesha and you think that you're being cool by posting nothing but shit gifs, then you should be infracted. it's as bad as constantly spamming smilies, in my eyes.

There isn't a rule against smiley spamming in the spam section though, is there?

I think Ke$ha should be banned though.
 
I think it's because not everyone on the forum knows how to use a GIF in context of a certain post/thread as a reply to what another member said/did towards them. :hmmm:

i did get an infraction for spamming smilies in the spam section by blakstang97 which hasnt expired/been deleted.

i dont think anything should be banned. we should all just learn to get along. being nasty is overrated.

its when the loop is about half a second that they fucking wind me up, it makes them jumpy and I get a headache just thinking about it :hmph: afew people are guilty fo suh bollockery in their sigs :hmph:
 
Here's the thing. If it's just a GIF outside of spam, it will be considered spam. Other than that I think it's just going to be considered like a picture.

Although I do really, really hate the GIF usage.
 
I guess if someone decides to post say, uhh, 50 gifs or so in one post in a thread full of gifs and everyone's browsers are deciding to be awkward, then perhaps we could introduce something. Like, execute that person in cold blood. And limiting it of course.

So until someone decides to do this, we shall see the continuing use of gifs. :sad3:

Though we can do it now if the majority says yes. :hmmm:

If we are allowed to spam gifs, then we should be allowed to spam smilies too.

Otherwise gifs should also be restricted.
