This looks awesome!

Yet another Home and Away star is making it onto the big screen!

Isabel Lucas plays Athena.

I love these type of movies. The fights always look awesome and the I adore the clothes the women get to wear. <3

Another 300 sort of movie.

i think it looks really poor. it seems to be trying to play off the success of other historical epics like troy, kingdom of heaven and the like with no care for a decent or even original story. it looks very much like an imitation of clash of the titans. i love mickey rourke, i think he's a fantastic actor, but i think he's in a pretty bad film here.

I want to see this, if only because I know it's going to be a completely mindless bloodbath filled with the same sort of ridiculously overdramatic but iconic lines that 300 was. I have absolutely no expectations whatsoever in terms of the actors, the plot, or even remote historical accuracy: a good score with a lot of violence will do me just fine for this.

I don't see how this could possibly be any worse than the truly awful Clash of the Titans remake a couple of years back.

I saw it last week, I thought it was pretty shit. I didn't like the cinematography or set designs.

I didn't like the story either, some people think that action movies don't need good storylines. I say fuck that. It's not that I'm expecting a masterpiece with every action film but it would be nice if those big chunks of time between the fight scenes were actually interesting.

When you make a film about Greek mythology there is really no excuse to have a boring story. Instead of trying to mash different mythological ideas together they should have just made a movie about one of the many Greek myths, there's a reason why these myths have survived so long, they are actually good.

I saw Immortals and concur with SaShman.

This movie was almost as bad as the conan the barbarian re-make.

And the conan the barbarian re-make was a million times worse than xena warrior princess.

:britt:

:giggle: That was funny man.
Anyway I knew conan the barbarian would let me down so I never bothered to see it. Immortals I havent really seen much of, but it seems it blows balls so that would be a rent for me or download.

PS: I used to watch Xena Warrior Princess a lot :hmph:
along with Hercules :mokken:

i've managed to catch little bits of it, and it looks to be as bad as i expected. despite the fact mickey rourke is a great actor, he has such an awful death scene at the end. it's laughable :lew:
the cosutmes looked to be over done, particularly on the gods/immortals. thye looked far too crisp and clean, almost like they were from a school play. it removed any beliebavility in the characters because you just laugh at how ridiculous the look.
the battle scenes seemed to be overly loud. i think they decided in order to make them feel more intense and epic, they just upped the volume. it doesn't work though, it just makes the battles unpleasant and uncomfortable to watch.

It was alright as a movie, but the story was so terrible. They tore apart a few great Greek myths and got a few of their facts completely wrong. Acting wasn't too bad, and the special effects were overdone. 3D was hardly noticeable as well. Oh well. I was bored and wanted to see a movie with friends and nothing else was playing.
