Anyone else here on contract phone?

I'v just come to the end of an 18mth contract with O2, £35 quid a month 600 minuts, 500 texts and 44,000 texts to any other o2 mobile

I rarely used the minutes but I abused the texts. Plus I got a phone that was brand spangly new (at the time) for free and I wa slike yeeeeeah

Recently, coz Im a tad more educated, Ive been looking intot eh freebies you can get, so my bf got a free PS3, with a contract that was the same as mine price wise except, he got unlimited texts and the free PS3

I signed up to one today, with the link (I wont use a company ive never heard of EVER) and got a new contract with 3. where I have 1100 something or others that is spilt between texts and calls. for £27 a month a free wii, with wii sports and maario kart

Im well fucking pleased with myself.

Anyone else take advantage of these deals?

I've got a £30 a month deal, 700 minutes and unlimited texts =D The phone - a Sony Ericsson W980 - was free too =D

It's much much much much better being on a contract phone! I don't have to worry about running out of credit and I can text all I like ^^ And, it was nice getting a phone for free instead of paying £350 for it :gasp:

I originally went on contract because I broke my motorolla rokr I think it was, I loved taht phone....I still look at it longingly even hough its oudated and shit now xDDD But I couldnt afford to buy a new phone when it unexpectadly concked on me, so I thought fuck it, may as well go on contract, I top up £30 a month anyway and I get a free phone out of it. Phone only lasted a year though......and it was an 18mth contract :gasp:

I only ever went over the £35 twice though but Ive never looked back. Topping up is such a chore xDD

I'm with T-Mobile, and pay them £30 a month and get given the equivalent of £180 of credit a month to use how I want. I signed up to it about two years ago now on an 18 month contract and paid £40 a month for it then, but when it ended I just renewed the contract because I easily go through the £180 and I really wouldn't get a better deal. Because I stayed with them, they knocked £10 off line rental for me which I was happy about.
I also pay £9 a month for insurance and £7.50 a month for unlimited web browsing on the phone, which I really need to go and see about canceling because I simply don't need them.

I had looked at one of those ones with a freebie (because I wanted a Wii too) but none of the price plans they came with were as good as what I already have, and I'd much rather have the contract at the end of the day.

I'm on a £25 12 month contract, and with that I get 500 minutes and unlimited texts, and the phone was free too. And that's on 3. It's pretty good, I usually use about 600-900 of the texts (it says unlimited but it's really just 4000) although most of my texts are long and count as two or three anyway. >_> The minutes vary, sometimes I can use about 400 but some months I don't use that many at all.

I don't like using a contract phone - you think you're saving money but you only really feel obliged to make use of the deal, so you still only use as much as you need. I much prefer pay as you go because I don't use my phone enough to need christ knows how many texts or minutes, I much prefer just speaking to people in person or using the house phone (much cheaper anyway xD) and my "top up £10/15/30 per month and get 300/500/unlimited free texts" is more than enough for me. xD

Although I am using a prepaid cell phone right now I am currently looking for a contract that really suits what I want. A decent amount of minutes and text, plus maybe free ringtone downloads. And the reason I quoted is because I am totally moving to the UK if they give away PS3's and Wii's just by signing a contract. That's just freakin sweet, I would love it if they offered something like that over here in the US.:P

Im on an 18 month contract with orange, i was paying like roughly 50 quid a month but after 6 months i downgraded to 30 quid a month that gives me 800 minutes and 500 texts a month. Im not much of a texter really, when im drunk, which is often i can never manage to text, a phone call is much easier. I would never go back to pay as you go, all the hassle of topping up is just a pain. Now i know i can use my phone whenever i want and not worry about credit. Long as im not howling drunk or my battery is dead though.

I found that on Pay as you go, you're far too limited, and you have to be really careful with your credit. I found myself running out of money all the time, and then being flooded by text messages I couldn't reply to. Lame.

It's much more fun being on a contract phone, I'm not the one paying for it, so I don't worry about how much I use. It's just nice to be able to send out silly, random texts for no apparent reason, and it's nice to be able to reply to everything.

I wish I'd gotten a free gift with my phone though D= some of those deals are awesome.

I'm not the one paying for it
I think you'd use it less if you were. xD

Acht, it's just not appealing to me to force myself to text people just for the sake of taking advantage of the offers given to me. I don't think I'm limited at all, because my free texts and the credit (which grants me the free texts) is more than enough to do me every month. 300 free texts is £30 worth of texts, on top of my £10 credit. I don't need to spend more than £40 a month texting. xD

I currently don't work so i have no way of making money to pay for my phone, so for christmas my parents just got me a "Pay as you go" phone. So basically i just pay 20$ a month Canadian, and then it last for 30 days, its 10 cents a text, 40 cents a minute talking. Seeing as i don't have a job and my parents don't really wanna pay a phone bill for me they just get this. It's probably the cheapest method but it's annoying when you run out of money on it because then you have to wait til you go to a store to refill it.

Generally, i text a lot, so i have 30 days, but in reality, i run out when i still have 18 days or so to go.. which sucks because then i have to wait -__-

I'd only use contract if I text people obsessively, in which I don't so I'm happy with just topping up, the whole free items thing is appealing, yes, but half the things you get offered for free I own anyway so I don't need them. :wacky:
Plus who honestly needs 4000/5000 texts a month, if they're texting people that much a month then they need their priorities sorting.

My Contract for my phone is a 2-year plan where I pay $39.99 a month for 450 minutes or so, then another $10 for unlimited IN-texting. With taxes it comes to around %58 a month for me.

If I end my phone service before my 2-year plan is up, I have to pay like a $100+ fee for termination.

I just recently got of my phone contract that lasted two years and I think I'm going to buy a new phone on my holidays in February as this one is kinda dead now.

I'm never going back on a plan. I hated that I HAD to pay a certain amount each month.

At least with prepaid you can decide whether you can afford credit for your phone or not and you won't go over the cap. >.<
