I still have a sore, burning throat after almost half a week. Not cool. :shame:

And because of that, it burns every time I swallow. In addition, I can't swallow large foods down easily without feeling the pain, the only one without it is a damn Muller Corner yoghurt.

Does anyone want to arrange my funeral now? :wacky:

Yikes... have you gone to see a doctor? If it's been close to a week, you might have strep throat. I used to get it so much that my tonsils eventually had to be removed. It really restricts your diet, which sucks a lot... I'd say have Jello pudding, yogurt, or soup. Soup always helped me, so long as it wasn't anything too hearty, and it's a nice break from all the cold food. And stay away from soda! It's no good. Hm... juice is usually good, especially orange juice because of the vitamin C it has, and if you can't get that than tea or water works too. Just stay hydrated. A lot of the irritation may come from dryness, so making sure you drink a lot of fluids helps. Basically everything your typical house mother would say to someone who's sick XD, but still, hope you feel better!

If you’re struggling to eat properly, then I suggest you buy some multivitamins tablets, they’ll provide your body with the nutrients it needs. Other than that, get lots of sleep, drink lots of juice, and put a few hot water-bottles under your duvet. Oh, and don’t eat no junk food.

I hate that, it feels like you have something stuck down your throat like an egg which is grazing you every time you swallow. I get tonsilitus usually twice a year so i know how you feel. Last time i never ate for 4 days i managed a bowl of soup thats it. Penicillin is the way to go, that stuff works wonders your gp will prescribe that. If ye cant be arsed goin to the doctors, munch down some paracetamol.

I don't mind being ill or unable to eat - it means I lose weight. I remember 2 times Ive been ill (one was alcohol poisoning - but whatever :wacky: ) I lost half a stone both times. Not a particularily healthy outlook I know...but I have fat and I hate it >_> Unfortunately for me, soon as I feel better my appetite comes back with a vengence -__-

Anyway, hope you feel better soon, drink milk and suck on strepsils

We got no Strepsils. Eh, it's not as bad as it was before now. I mean, it's gone down a little, but no significant change. God, my voice is going! :gasp:

Strepsil are sooo useless though, seriously. The orange ones they taste fine and all but they dont actually do anything to take the edge off the pain. Better with ice cream :monster:

Tonsillitis is a bitch, it's really annoying when my throat hurts that much. It's horrible since all you can do is drink, and even then it hurts. Most of the medicine the doctors give me have been useless whenever I get it too =/ It also lasts for ever, whenever I get it, it stays for the full week -__-

I hope you get well soon Faith, it's a horrible thing to have D=

Try having tonsilitis AND a chest infection at the same time. :monster: Not cool.

Drink plenty of fluid. It may hurt to swallow, but it'll also help to soothe it. Trust me, I've been having to put up with mine for the last week and a half.

I hate when i have this.. you can't eat and you can barley drink any liquids.. I mean usually when i get this i have some good ol' chicken noodle soup because the broth is good for you and its easy to get down. That and lots of water and sleep usually does the trick. I also like popsicles and ginger ale helps a lot too o_O

When I've got a sore throat or anything bad like that I usually give Applesauce a try as well as pudding or Yogurts. It ticks me off as well because anytime I go to enjoy supper or any kind of food I really like, it just tastes like shit and I end up not eating for a few days myself either.

Good luck though. Take advantage to people catering to you if they offer since you've got the sore throat.

That's rough. I'm one of the lucky ones that rarely get sick from ANYTHING. Though when it does happen and I do get a sore throught I find chicken broth helps me. Along with ice-cream if you let it melt in your mouth and trickle down. I find pudding to be too thick for a sore throught.
