When you get these little bastards, what's your solution?

I get them all too often. -__- And when I do, I drink a pint of water, and eat bread. I'm not easily scared, so the old scare tactic really doesn't work for me. :wacky: What's everyone else's solution, so I can try it out next time these delightful little irritants pop up. :hmph:

I only ever really get them after drinking a lot (of water or summat) shortly after eating.. or after eating.. I usually hold my breath and swallow hard three times.. works by the second try.

I drink lots of water. That usually does the trick.
Although, sometimes, they come back shortly after drinking. -__-

I just hold my breath. I figure that one of two things will happen:

1) Eventually, they'll go away and I'll be free from the torment of juttering like someone with tremors.

2) I'll pass out from lack of oxygen and I won't care that I have the hiccups anymore because I'll be unconcious.

Either way, it's a brilliant solution to a very stupid problem.

I don't get hiccups often, but when I do I always do the hold your breath technique. It usually doesn't work for me though...

I used to get the hiccups a lot, haven't had them for a while now though.
To stop them I would drink from the other side of a glass. I'm not going to try and explain how that works though...every time I do people are like 8( what???
Holding your breath for 20 seconds seems to work too

i had the hiccups the other night when i was walking home and it was driving me nuts. i don't understand how lots of alcohol makes you hiccup.

i ususally find that holding your breath for a while stops it. i've never really tried any of the other things like drinking a glass of water on your head. that one just sounds daft.
