Anyone here ever had the little buggers crawling through your hair?

Have you had your kids come home with the nasty little buggers crawling all over their hair and clothes. >.<

I've had headlice maybe two or three times in my life.

Once when I was in primary school and once or twice while working.

I used to wear my hair out a lot at work and more than likely caught it off some kid, as I worked in retail. Never wear my hair out at work anymore.

What freaked me out the most is when the lice would fall out of your hair and then start crawling up your clothes. >.<

Anyway, the process for getting rid of the little buggers is so annoying. Putting the smelly solution in your hair and then having to come out all the eggs right at the roots. It's so time consuming and you always worry that you may have missed some live eggs and that they'll hatch and procreate etc etc.

I used to know of one girl in primary school who used to always get headlice and her mum was so cruel, that she used to just shave her hair off every time she caught them. =/ And she would put dog flea stuff in her hair too. >.<

Just thinking about head lice makes me itch. XD Just being in the headlice hair care section does too. >.<

I remember going to the doctors once to get a doctors note to take time off work so I didn't give the lice to anyone else and the doctor thought I was saying I had hair loss. >.<

Ive had it a couple of times aswell. Both at primary school so i was young.

One kid had them, he came into school then the whole class would end up with those fucking things in theyre head. No one ever knows who got them in the first place. Coulda been me for all i know.
The shampoo you take to get rid of them fucking stinks aswell, its proper horrible but its better than ahving beasties crawlin aboot yer heed.

It's worse when a kid comes into the school and you get them and they just send you off for a few days -__-

I had them mostly in primary school and for a brief patch in secondary where aforementioned incident occured. After that i've more or less been louse free thankfully :ryan:

And ya Lew I agree, that lotion is HORRID -__- especially when you get it in your eyes, burns like crazy.

I've had it once in primary school. The worst part besides the itching was probably the treatment :( it stunk and was so time consuming :(

I remember I passed on the little beasts to my sister eheheh! She got to go through the same crap as me >:C

ive had them once, maaaaybe twice when i was in primary school. there was a nit nurse back then, so that was pretty much the end of it

But fuck me, Ellie comes home with them all the time, it does my fucking head in, im sick of constantly getting them forher to come home with them the following week

I actually had a lady come into work the other day and ask what the difference between Nits and the eggs were.

I was like, 'What do you mean?'

Finally I got what she meant and had to explain that the nits were the crawly things that crawl around in your hair and lay the eggs. Then the eggs hatch and turn into more nits etc etc.

This woman would have been in her 30's and said her kid had had headlice a few times. I'm surprised she didn't understand the cycle of headlice and that I had to explain it to her. 0_o

I had to explain to her exactly how to get rid of them and it was like she'd never done it before, or properly anyway.

I hate it when people don't learn about these things earlier to help their kids. :sad3:

I've had head-lice about three times. My friend at school always used to catch them and then would pass them on to me. :( I am guessing that she caught them from one of her two sisters, who would have caught them from students in their year.

I quite liked the smell of tea-tree, which is what we used to get rid of them, but combing through your hair and making sure that ALL of them were gone was rather time consuming. :hmph:

ive never had them tho my sister got them a few times in primary school. there was one girl who was a total mink and she always seemed to have them - obviously its just a myth that they only go for clean hair cause there wasnt a single clean thing about that clatty bitch.

a few months ago i saw her on the bus and she's still the same old mink she used to be. absolutely stinks of rotten fish. and i mean that literally.

They do prefer clean hair because the eggs stick to clean hair better then greasy hair, but they'll take anything they can get really. :wacky:

I remember one girl in my primary school used to always get them.

Her mum was horrible about it too. She would just shave off all her hair and the poor thing would always have to wear a bandana until it grew back.

Her mum even used dog flea treatment in her hair too. So she always smelled really bad.

People think headlice treatment smells rank, flea treatment is so much worse. >.<

Hmmm...I've never had headlice. And in my elementary schools, we were checked for that shit maybe once every two months. And as far as I'm aware, my sister hasn't gotten them either, though with her hair I can see her missing them.

I personally have never had lice. But! I remember one year in elementary school, there was a big case of the lice everywhere. Every fudging body was running around like madmen to make sure they didn't get any. I'm surprised I survived that without getting any.

I also remember some song about head lice that scared the living hell out of me as a child. Sucks I can't find it on YouTube anywhere.
