I do this a lot.

I'll not like something for absolutely 0 reason (maybe because it's popular??) and then years later I will finally play/watch it and suddenly I love it.

Some things I have done this with are:

Harry Potter. I hated it when the books first came out even though I'd never read the books. I thought it sounded stupid but all my friends loved it which made me hate it more. Then when the 7th book came out I decided to read them... and I freaking love Harry Potter now :| I couldn't put the books down and I love the movies.

Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy X. Didn't like these either, I thought they were boring and stupid purely because I watched my friend play them. Then finally I gave them a go myself and found that they were awesome and now KH's is one of my favourite games. I think I disliked these because watching someone else play an RPG is pretty dull... playing for yourself is much better.

The Vampire Diaries. I thought it was stupid and girly and lame before even seeing an episode. Watched it about a year after my friend recommended it to me and found out it's the complete opposite. It's awesome.

I'm sure everyones done this with at least one thing :hmmm:

Now you :toni:

I was like this with Justin Beiber and One Direction.

I was like seriously? More little boys with their voices cracking whilst trying to sing and getting the girls to fall all over them in the process?

I refused to listen to anything they sung or even talk about them simply because they were all anyone was talking about for the longest time.

Then I listened to a few of their songs once they got a little bit older and I wouldn't say I love them but I do like a select few of their songs, whereas before I would be like 'Ewe get that away from me!' purely because of the fact they sung it.

Hahaha speaking of which, I was at work yesterday (around 4:30 a.m), unboxing some stuff. A song came on the radio that was putting me to sleep and annoyed the crap out of me. Went something like, "Let me love you now... ooohhh aaah, let me love you now.... ooohhh ahhh". I got so angry and exclaimed, "Ugh, is this Justin Bieber!?" Co-workers probably thought I was on crack. It wasn't Justin Bieber. I just automatically assumed. =X

But anyway, on topic... Heroes. Few mentioned it on this forums a lot a few years ago. I saw some previews, but didn't like it too much. One Christmas, my brother-in-law gave us the first Season on DVD. At first I felt obligated to watch, of course, but after watching the first episode, I was hooked. I watched the rest of the seasons on Netflix.

final fantasy

i was like 14 when my then dude i sat beside on the bus and now good friend brought up the topic of final fantasy, i told him "that stuff is for faggots". then i really got into it. faggots unite :monster:

dave

but then i liked muse and we both hated eric, so we became friends

final fantasy xiii

this is a very open, passive aggressive like/hate relationship

fat chicks

its a very cloudy topic, thats for sure

Yes. It was called Final Fantasy. I never liked to even look at the cover art when I was a small kid. Final Fantasy was the bad guy of all video games to me. I just had pure hatred for it. For no real reason either. Obviously that has changed, or I wouldn't be here right now. :ahmed:

That's all I can think of honestly. Final Fantasy was the only thing I hated for no real reason. Interesting.... :hmmm:

Yes theirs a fews things Ive hated just because and can't figure out why in the world I like it.
Shooting games - For the longest time I hated these type of games, this was maybe 4 or 5 years ago I dont remember. but up until that point Rpgs and fighting games (mainly just tekken and SF) are the only ones ill even touch. then my brother brought home one day F.E.A.R. and Gears of War. F.E.A.R. sucked and I think he wasted his money. So Gears of ar is Co-op right, so he decided to have me join knowng how much dispise all shooters whether its first person or third. Where playing it and I found myself actually enjoying playing the game. when my brother was busy in school (college) I liked it so muc that I started my own single campaign without asking him and I beat the whole thing before we even fiished our co op game. from then on until this day shooters are ok with me (No I dont like halo or call of duty...I may like shooters but I still hate a few of them like these 2).

Resonance of Fate - I got this game awhile back sine it was really cheap for the360 and its rpgs but they all use guns. My friends all recommended it but I didn even look at a trailer or any info, I looked at the cover and the back of it, thought the game could screw itself and burn in hell for even thinking its worthy of being played. I do tha with all my games I know nothing about before i purchase it. I look at the cover and back and may read the features and decide if its gonna be good or bad. I usually pick right cause I did that wit ales of Legendia and now Im a big fan. But anyway one day I decided to pick it up just because I really wanted a nw game for my 360. I played it and I was right, It sucked I didnt like the battle system or the building of hexes and such so put it at the bottom of my rank (thats whre all my crappy games go) never touched it again. I was looking to increase my achievments andeveryone who knows me, knows I hate having a gamerscore of 0 or close to it on any of my games. So i usually go back to old ames and play hem again for achievments I didnt get until a new game I want comes out if I get bored of what im currently playing. Even if the game sucked like resonance of fate I still go back andtry again. Theirs a few games I went back to and liked and some took me 2 or even 3 times of doing this method of going back to it before I liked it. so the second attempt (after trying to play it a 2nd time after me first purchasing it) I decided to start the game over. And you know what, I found myself likin that same battle system I loathed, got really into it I beat the game again instantly after beating it th first time (cause theirs an achievment for beating it again) I couldnt believe how crazy the battles get with the high number of bullets your characters fire when you max them out. I ended up 100% beating it, its the first game I ever hated but came back and beat and liked it.

Teriyaki Chicken - I see teriyaki chicken in thefood courtalot when I go the mall sometimes and I always see people eating it. I told people I hated the stuff and I dont like eating stuff covered in weird sauce honestly. I never tried it; or even smelled it(im picky but I usually smell sometims to see if its worth eating along with how it looks). So one day they had some hand outs and I decided to try some, now Im hooked on it.

Kelly Kelly - I hated her with a passion for no reason at all but she was liked by many and I dont know why, I guess I just wanted to hate her cause I didnt see what was so great about her anyway. Then I found myself going to summerslam axxess and I met with a fewof the divas and superstars and their she was, the blonde barbie killer kelly herself with her fake ugly smile I thought. So I decided to talk with her since she said she had time and wasn't signing autographs and such. Not that she would care but she asked me how long have I been a wrestling fan and what I wanted to do. So I answered and told her my dream of being in the wwe myself one day. I dont if it was because she praised me but I felt like good friends after talking with her, and she wasnt so bad. I didnt know she liked alot of things that I did, but when she told me to hurry up and get to the wwe so we can team together sealed he deal thats she's my favorite diva now. of course she left so it wont happen now xD
