Has Nasa found Aliens?

Cool perhaps some Bacteria or Microbe or something..interesting, cant wait to hear about this..I hope they dont try to take a sample or something..(would take ages anyways) but they might deliver us a brandnew hostile virus..

I doubt it.

They probably won't find life until/unless they can drill into the ice on Europa.

Perhaps there's primitive plants on Mars as well but we haven't been there yet.

I doubt it like I said.I think the news would have leaked if they had anything concrete.

The only extraterrestrial life that could be feasibly found now would of course be simple, unicellular organisms in the likely candidates that could possibly sustain life such as Mars, Titan and Europa. Of course, if they really have discovered actual signs of life outside of this planet no matter how simple they are (and why not? I strongly believe that be the case. If there are organisms able to thrive in the most hostile locations on Earth, then why not on places such as Mars?), then this is still a very significant step as it would at least tell us that life may be commonplace in the universe. Otherwise don't expect to hear news of bipedal, intelligent aliens or anything anytime soon.

Hmm, it'd be interesting... :hmmm:

...
.....
......

Interestingly SCARY! :rage: :rage:

I doubt it though, but who knows what they know.

When the Apollo mission left a camera on the moon, some smart man decided to test the camera for microorganisms present. There were, and they had been present since before the mission, but it proved that 1) the organisms were able to make use of a new environment and 2) survive the extreme radiation and temperature. Could those microbes be extraterrestrials? Probably not, but if they can survive out there, what's to say there isn't something else that originates from somewhere else?

Kind of intrigued about the discovery, of course I'm not optimistic for an army of V's to come trundling down over the sky.

Nope. I would love it, though.
They probably found a super-microbe that can survive in deadly environments. Probably a microbe that can live in lakes with deadly arsenic or something like that.
We will have to wait to see what it is. Don't get your hopes up, because it will probably be a 'meh' for ordinary people who aren't interested in astronomy.

the article has a picture of an 'alien' but we're yet to find any...

ino :wacky: hahaha

Obviously alien nuts would love nothing more so its not surprising that theyre hoping its extra terrestrial life. Its probadly some new exciting pictures of mars. I say exciting but im also being sarcastic.
You never know though, it may be something that will satisfy the mulders.

The truth is out there afterall....

It's an interesting premise, however if it were anything serious, I'm inclined to believe it would have been front-page news, and regular programming would be interrupted immediately to make room for a live conference about it.

On the other hand though, it is the type of thing where the general public would not be allowed to know until the government had already seen the information for themselves, and discussed a plan of action. After all, they're not just going to see something on a data reading and then immediately the next day go, "OMG gaiz there's aliens! :jess:" and have everyone start running around causing a panic or something.

I am srsly so excited for this!! and i Hope they don't announce something like "omg we found a planet that MIGHT hold life... maybe.... one day... but maybe not" I want some kind of awesome proof of something!

Yeah, unfortunately that is all it turned out to be :sad3: They essentially discovered that it is possible for a bacterium to exist that is made out of/lives on arsenic, but they did all the research using something they found in Mono Lake, California. Apparently it's significant because unlike all other known life forms, it lives without phosphorus; however, it still doesn't confirm whether or not there is life elsewhere, it just expands the possibilities for it given a new set of environmental conditions.

There's one article here, lots of them are popping up currently as the press conference is going on recently:

Ughhh yeah I just read the news article, kinda cool but also a very large anticlimax... sigh... one day I will hear the news I am waiting for haha

American Dad XD

It does make one wonder though, whether maybe they've found something extraterrestrial already like this that is sustained by arsenic, but are trying to ease us into the concept a little at a time before they spring it upon the general public :hmmm: I have a feeling that when alien life is discovered, the general public will have to wait a while before finding out.

If you ask me, NASA is a joke to keep the mass of people entertained. The higher up knows more than most people are willing to know. Fact: the moon landing as been filmed, and Armstrong cries and throws up when asked about the whole trip (just a small interesting fact, thats doesn't sum up all I know, no worries).

Anyway, I don't want to start anything here, I guess I got my beliefs.

Hm. Quite the curious situation... Always been curious about the world outside our system. If there were intelligent life here, would it not be possible to have intelligent life elsewhere as well? Well, curious as ever. I just hope they'll reveal whatever they know in full detail..

I just hope they'll reveal whatever they know in full detail..

That my dear will probably never happen. It would have the effect of an atomic bomb. Oh but they will leak some small time info that many people will believe to be the whole and definite truth. Makes me sad.
