Some people say they want to be younger. Some people say they'd rather be older. Which one are you?

At this stage in my life, I feel the need to present myself as older than I am as part of the whole humble/mature mentality I have right now. I'm sure eventually I'll want to be younger again, but for the most part, I'll be content with being older. I like the freedom that's associated with it.

I wanted to be older til I GOT older. Getting older is something that is inevitable, once your youth is gone it's gone. Don't waste your time wanting the inevitable.

She said it! Don't sit there and try doing older things.. be young be naive, do everything you want.. once your older.. well there in turn comes more responsibility. Sometimes I feel like an old man within my head.. but I still got the agility of a 20 year old. I've been through a hell of a lot, and thankfully it just make me more wise and experienced, although sometimes I wonder why my path has been put before me. But we all live life differently.

Again don't give up your youth!

I agree theres not much point in worrying about getting older, as has been said, its inevitable.
Im happy enough with the age im at right now, although i dont really notice myself getting older if u know what i mean.
I am kinda nervous at the thought of turning 20 i dunno why though. Maybe i feel like i should have accomplished more by now i guess. No doubt though when i hit 20 im probadly not gonna care at all.

I don't worry about growing older, mainly because as mentioned, it's inevitable.
I'd like to stay 17 though (when I turn 17) then I'll be able to drive because I can pass clubs/pubs/cinemas etc as 18 so there's no worr in becoming 18. Plus, I like college and my mates, don't have to worry about getting a job, tax, bills etc if I'm 17. However, all that changes when you get older. :(

That was kind of my point. I don't like being naive and teenagery. I guess people misunderstood what I said (and/or took too much stock in the title of the thread). I know aging is inevitable. I was merely asking whether people wanted to present themselves in a way that was different from their ages. I never asked if people were worried about growing older.

To be honest, I'm more in line with your post, as in I feel young and old.

It really depends for me as I blend in between depending who I am with. When I was working I presented myself as a bit mature but now that I am at college and there is quite a few people in the class that like to mess about. I'm not disruptive as I am probably the at the top when it comes to getting work done but I tend to lay back and have some fun. In saying that when I say "mature" I am not talking about a totally old person like. Just that I am more polite towards people and more considerate and being someone that someone else can talk to. When it comes to college that mostly goes out the window as it is a big insult fest.

Ohh, when there old they want to be younger when there young they want to be older.

Fer me I'm only 13, so I wish I was older so I could do cool fings. Leik sex and driving *cough*alcholz*cough*. :monster: But I'm sure once I am old I'll want to be younger, because my 'prime' days are over.

Ohh, I pretty much meant, I never act older than I am, never did, all those people at school (mostly girls) that would sit around pretending to be all mature when in reality, they were 14/15/16 whatever, there's plenty of time to act boring and mature when yuor old. Ive always had a bit of an immature mentality though, I enjoyed enjoying my youth, until I moved out and had to start being more responsible

I'm still probably one of the most immature 2 something year olds you will ever meet though

That's whut I meant :monster:

You probably will look back at some point. I'm enjoying my life just now but I always look back to my teenage years when you were free to roam the streets playing street football and getting into all sorts of trouble. Just being a kid but once you leave school and reality hits you then that all goes out the window. Night outs are great as well but they can be expensive, especially to students who aren't exactly making good money.

I'm 22 right now, but when it all comes down to it, I'd rather stay younger. I actually believe these few years I'm at right now are my peak years; college age, finding out what I'm doing for my career, etc...

I mean eventually I want my family and all to start with a wife and kids, but I gotta say I'm lovin' life at this age just bein' out 'til 3am with my friends, go wherever, whenever, and responsibility isn't as high as it will be in a few years.

Fountain of Youth, baby.

I'd rather keep with the age I am now... I just want to be able to be this age forever, so to give me longer to experience it. I feel I wasted my teen years, and didn't experience anything that most people seem to be able to experience. So I don't want to be old, but I don't have much to reminisce on. Childhood perhaps, but I'd rather have my mind and what I know now, but with the freedom of childhood.. Impossible really.

Unfortunately for me living with just my 2 brothers life isn't that simple since none of us is working (I'm at college, my oldest brother is unemployed and my other brother has finished college and trying to get a job as a sound engineer).

I think everything has its righ time and place, so I try to live my life as it is, every moment having the same value of the others. I feel comfortable in my age and I'm not afraid of getting older as long as I have someone by my side, being it a lover, a friend, a relative.
I look younger than my age, sometimes I dress smartly so that my appearance will match my biological/mental age, but I know that when I grow older I'll be grateful to appear younger! :D

I'm quite happy being the age I am now, but in future I'm pretty sure I'll look back and want to be 18 again. When I'm really old I may even look back and think "damn, being 22 was sweet"

I want to be somewhere between 18 and 21 purely for the alcohol purposes - I won't have to worry about fake ID and/or getting sold alcohol. I'll have left school and I'll be considered an adult...this space in between is really starting to piss me off. <_< You're an adult when it suits the current adults, you're a child when it suits the current adults...

e.g. you forget to do the dishes and "you're an adult, you should be more responsible!", you don't hand in homework and "you're an adult, you should be taking more responsibility!", you want to go out on a thursday night and "you're a child, I'm not letting you out, it's a school night!" and such like, it's really irritating.

True. I'm 19 so for the law I'm an adult, and also my parents almost always treat me like one, but sometimes they still say that I'm a child because it makes things easyer for them. After 5-6 year being told that, it's very annoying. At least now if I tell them to not say it they won't... for maybe a couple of weeks :D

I'd rather be younger.

I think I'm old now only being 20 because of all the stress with being an adult that's come about lately. =0

I LOVED being 18 and now that I'm getting older I feel people expect bigger things from me. I hate being grown up. I like the fact that I get to make my own decisions but I hate doing grown up stuff like:

* Paying rent
* Buying food
* Cooking dinner
* Paying bills

etc...

I am good at all of those things, I just don't like them. =/ Younger is easier.

I love my youth and carefree ways and I don't want it to go away, so therefore I obviously don't want to get any older or act any older than I am. There is about another 80 years of that to come if I'm lucky to live that long.

Hang on...do I really want to live that long and get all wrinkly and saggy?

Older people are more exprienced and have been through whatever they went through and they know best but younger people IMO are more carefree and make more mistakes and whatnot. Older is deff not something I look forward to. Im currently 19 and dont get me wrong being younger is a lot easier beacuse you have support and not a care in the world. I would say older although i dont know how much older XDD I think I like my age right where im at :griin: finally getting out on my own, really figuring out life and who i truely am and thats whats scary about it. As you get older, time goes by faster so I think younger is where I'd be at. :monster:

I don't really care about aging anymore, i did at one point but there's nothing that can stop it. In all honesty, i rather be aging than to go back to a certain age where i would have to experience things i went through again. That and if i were to stay a certain age the fact that i would wonder about being older will never leave my mind.

So i rather age than not age at all xD
