ok so chatting to my friend on facebook and he said

"theyve sent loads of people with preorders letters and emails, its all over the net'due to logistical difficulties'
apparantly they havent got the trucks to get that many out on one day, so theyve been authorised to ship em oot"

i haven't found any evidence of this on the internet yet but i doubt he would make this up, anyone heard anything similar?

That't can't be true, I'l cry if it is, I wqas gunna pre-order at Gameola as well. I'm sure it's not just them that will need massive shipments of the stuff, and Im sure it's not the first time a game has been in high demand, I reckon it's either wishful thinking, or someone pulling a fastone

If it's not, I'l cry as I sit letter box stalking for my copy ]:

If town wasn't half an hour away i'd go and check for myself :mokken:

WOuld be epicool if anyone could confirm this though :hmmm:

Please don't double post. Next time, edit your previous post.

I've actually just looked on the GAME website and it says the 9th, anyway. But I think me and Damon are going to check it out, anyway, since we're hitting the town on Monday morning.

I'l be in Ashton ater, so I'l get back to you...though saying that, if it's pre-orders then it wouldn't be on the shelves yet anyway, would it? I'l be mighty pissed if it is, I want my fucking copy now :mokken:

Eh, I'l look anyway, maybe hassle a shop person, see what they say

Damnit, I wish I still worked there. i didnt bother pre ordering as Im hoping they get enough copies in! The nearest is a bus ride away, but Im in agony right now and I doubt I could make the trip up. Yeah, the website still says the 9th.

I dont think they can release it early due to legal contracts. We werent allowed to release COD early, but people still got banned who purchased it at our midnight launch!

yeah i would of thought they wouldn't be allowed too tbh :hmmm:

Well, I had a look around any shops that sold games and each one was saying about the March 9th release :hmmm:

Did see WKC and was tempted :mokken:

wow this is just like when i found a copy of Aion at walmart on the shelves and told my friends "i hope my copy looks this cool" then i noticed it was the real game and got pissed that it was out 3 days early... moral of the story, if any one has it out now it would be a walmart they never give a flying monkeys arse about release dates

I had a look round game, didn't see any of the games out, though it looks like you could get the XBox console with it :hmmm:

Yep, there are severe logistical difficulties atm due to the insanley high demand for FFXIII, I can indeed confirm that what people are saying about the logistical issues is true, and as I mentioned sometime last month, people that have pre-ordered may have trouble getting there copy dependent on where they pre-ordered it from.

Releasing it early, I'm guessing may only be from some outlets of GAME, those being centralized to the large cities that will be hit hardest by the release so they will have asked for an emergency delivery as well as buying in units from other stores in less bussling areas.

There has also been a stock deligation order put in place due to FFXIII's popularity, this means a lot more units will be shipped to areas like London and Manchester and less units shipped to more rural outlining areas such as Leeds and Cornwall than there normally would, since the bigger cities will take the overflow stock that was orginally ment for the rural outlining cities.

The main reason I didnt pre-order FFXIII is because I already knew about the chaotic mess that was going to unfold prior to and on release day, I'm likely going to wait until a couple of weeks after to get my copy when things become a little more stable, but best of luck to those of you that did pre-order, This has all the makings of being yet another WII fiasco, and I for one hope im wrong .

So wait over there you could get the 360 version early? Or are they saying that you have to buy the Xbox 360 XIII bundle to get it early? The bundle isnt available till the 9th and I refuse to buy the bundle. I just noticed that my Xbox is still in good shape tbh. Anyway 3 DayssssssSSSSS :woo:

And how do you know that?

I've never had a problem getting a game on launch day, so this time I didn't pre-order it. I pre-ordered FFXII when it came out, but never any other game and I've gotten a ton on release nights.

I have a feeling though I'll get there since it's a retarded Gamestop near us, and they'll tell me since I didn't pre-order, I won't be able to nab it. I'll flip.

Define "early".

Chances are if they received that today it won't actually be delivered today and they won't tomorrow since there's no post on a Sunday. The only time they'll get it before now and Tuesday is Monday, and even then, receiving the game the day before is nothing new, it's quite common. :)

I get the feeling I'm not gunna get mine on release day because I took the stingy free delivery option. Fantastic :mokken:

And how do you know that?

Lew I work in distribution as an Admin as you well know, I have to know this in order to damage control potential sales and stock losses. We get multiple shipping invoices and instructions from each company prior and on a games delivery from each company, In the case of FFXIII they sent out special instructions to the operations manager due to the potentiality of stock shortages, we recieved a copy of the instructions to our internal network email in order to help us assess the level of damage control we were going to need.

I may well be worried for nothing and I could be entirely wrong about how things are going to go down on release day, but 3 security guards watching over a container being unloaded and the stock being moved into its own seperate area with a camera overlooking does kinda say a lot about the situation.

It has also been placed as a "Hot Slot" which means every case picked by the order pickers must be confirmed by a line manager before it's distributed, so they are really treating FFXIII as a highly controlled situation. Not to mention the Admin Team Leader has to check the stock nightly, normal admin are not allowed anywhere near it.
