Square Enix Europe officially announced the limited collector’s edition of Final Fantasy XIII and spilled the beans on what’s inside the box.

PAL gamers that pickup the collector’s edition get:
 • The World of Final Fantasy XIII – a hardcover book with character art, CG rendered artwork, and environments
 • Final Fantasy XIII Original Sound Selection – a music CD with tracks chosen by Masashi Hamauzu, the game’s composer
 • Three collectable Eidolon art prints
 • A l’Cie mark sticker
 • Final Fantasy XIII for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3
Still no word if Square Enix USA will distribute a similar, if not the same, package in North America. Just a reminder, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, and Star Ocean: The Last Hope had Europe exclusive collector’s editions. PAL territories also got those games after North America so that might have been Square Enix Europe’s way of saying sorry for the wait.

Standard collector's edition stuff, then. Although no amount of collector's stuff will abate my anger if they dare to push back the EU release date. Especially considering it costs a little over £20 more than the standard edition, so its a rather poor apology if it turns out to be one. With those comparisons, it makes me a little...uneasy.
...alas, I am on a budget, and with Pokemon SoulSilver, Dragon Age Origins: Awakening and possibly Resonance of Fate to buy in March as well, unless it sees a price drop, I won't be getting this.

I'm not one of those people prepared to pay extra for a Collector's Edition, so this doesn't really interest me. There's no real point spending more money on things that are really unnecessary, and probably don't warrant the higher price.

The hardcover book and the soundtrack are nice extras, but nothing I really need. As long as I have the game, I'm content. I'm not sure what I would want with a L'Cie mark sticker or Eidolon art prints.

To be honest Im not really wowed over. Like Martel said its standard collections edition. I mean, this is what you get in a special edition, but I dont feel its worth extra money. If a figure, shirt or a teddy were in there, then yeah I would!

That looks like something I would love to get when I get the game. I am wondering what tracks are going to be on the CD, it says that it is chosen by the game's composer so I hope he chooses some really good ones. And the are will probaly be really cool too.

I have to admit, I'm less than impressed tbh >.> Nothing there really stands out as "I must have that!" especially since every bit of it will be put onto the net within the first few days of it coming out. The only thing that interests me is the box art of the Collector's Edition. :wacky:

Ill Probably get this. Ive never gotten a collectors edition game before this should be interesting.

That is pretty interesting, but it's not something I'm completely awed by or anything like that. Still, I do feel like getting one. It might be nice to own one of those.

Figures you Europeans who get the collector's editions wouldn't be wowed :wacky:

I think that's pretty neat. Granted, scans of the artbook would likely start floating around after, but it still seems like some pretty neat stuff to me.

I really hope we get something here in the West. Gamestop rumours about a "bonus book" for Canada at least, but nothing really concrete :ness:

I don't think I own any collector's edition or whatnot because I don't really feel it's needed. All I need is the game XD All the other stuff isn't something I was looking forward to etc whereas the game is what i'm looking forward to :jess: I'm not a huge fan on the collector's so I'd rather spend my cash on something else :wacky: It's not like I wouldnt ever look at that etc but Why spend more money on something I won't use often? That's what I think.
