FINAL FANTASY FORUMS GRAPHICS SCHOOL
Welcome to The Final Fantasy Graphics School, here to help both beginners and experienced gfxer's alike. Become a student and learn from one of our teachers or become a tutor and help those with less experience to enter the wonderful world of gfxing. There are a few simple rules and guidelines that you need to follow in order to be a successful member of the school. You can find these below:
Rules and Guidelines
1] Respect your fellow members
2] You must adher to the Forums general rules which can be found >here<
3] As a Student, you can only learn from one tutor every month.
4] As a Tutor, you are expected to answer any questions from your student/s.
5] During the last week of every month, every tutor must give their student/s a challenge, involving any techniques they may have helped their students on over the previous three weeks. This is so we can see how each student has improved over the month.
Becoming a Student
Becoming a student at the school is simple. All you need to do is PM Lindsey Buckingham with an example of your latest pieces (Three or more is preferable but you can only send one or two). These pieces will be the starting point of your School experience. They will be used as comparison between your beginning and the end of your first month challenge. Your name will then be added to the Student list.
Becoming a Tutor
Becoming a Tutor is a little more tricky. You need to send Lindsey Buckingham five examples of your work. Your work will then be looked over by myself and two other tutors. If we believe that you have enough ability to bestow help upon students, you will be accepted. If not, you have the choice of joining the Student list. If you are not accepted as a tutor, it is nothing personal. It may just be that you aren't quite at the level expected to help give technique advice etc, to students. You can always advance from student to tutor, so just keep it up!
Advancing from Student to Tutor
Every month you can apply to progress from a Student to a Tutor. Simply PM your best five pieces to Lindsey Buckingham by the end of the month. If you have improved enough and have a good grip on some techniques and the like, you may be accepted and moved from the Student List to the Tutor ranks. We'd like to see a Student advance to Tutor at least once every three months. It's not expected but we are all here to help and encourage! Maybe you can be one of them. =3
Studying Under a Tutor
Students and Tutors alike can request who they are going to take on for the month if they so wish.
Example, Tutor A decides they would like to help Student C. Student C does not request another Tutor by the deadline so Tutor A becomes their teacher. During the last week of the month, Student C and Tutor A will be asked if they wish to switch with others. If both say no, then they will be paired for the following month. If they decide to change, then the student and tutor will switch with others. This might sound a little confusing but you will understand once the school is underway! (I hope =P )
Questions
You can pose questions/advice to your tutor/student via the thread provided or by PM. It is entirely up to you. Also, feel free to talk about the school adn stuff in this thread.
