Favourite Christmas Song

Silent Night. It always was my favourite Christmas Carol at primary school, and I still enjoy it now. It means so much more than the Christmas mainstream songs, and it's far less annoying too.

"All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey, such a great voice, and such a well written song, probably the most recent of the Christmas "Classics" which you will find on any Christmas Compilation CD as well.
I have to say I also like "When A Child Is Born". That has a link back to a Christmas Production at school from when I was younger though

hmmm, well my fav christmas song is AC/DC's Mistress for Christmas song, its pretty cool i guess, because what single man doesnt want a girl for christmas? i wouldnt mind to have 1 either lol

edited- too short

[Mod Edit: just wanted to thank you for taking note of that fact and improving where appropriate.]

The song you mention is Fairytale of New York, which has a fair few fans on this thread :)

Hmm have I posted here yet? I love so many Christmas songs, it's difficult to pinpoint a few.

As for Christmas Carols, I love We Three Kings of Orient Are, Away in a Manger (that song is so sweet when sung by little kids at midnight carol services 8D), The First Noel and pretty much most of them.

Err, for others... Little Saint Nick by The Beach Boys, I Believe in Father Christmas by Greg Lake, Fairytale of New York by the Pogues and Kirsty McColl, Let it Snow by Frank Sinatra... Again, I like nearly all of them so I could go on forever. :wacky:

HAHA woo i just wanna say that here it is merry xmas by slade came on the radio today, i was jumping on my bench and singing, that is definitely the best christmas tune ever. Also heard Noel Gallagher coverin wish it could be xmas everyday, it was pretty good.

Not being a very christmasy person i don't really like christmas carols, they kinda get repetative considerin' the same ones are always played over the christmas period. I always get bored of them during december.

I Declare War-Jingle Bell Rock

Basically death metal vocals over the original. Kinda funny

Puts me in xmass spirit

:duel:

Can't go wrong with RUN D.M.C.'s "Christmas In Hollis" but I also really like Super Deluxe's "All I Wanted Was a Skateboard"...Though I'm not sure if Christmas is specifically mentioned in that one, actually...>_>

Down with the Christmas! I don't know who it's by, though. (It's a parody of Down with the Sickness by Disturbed)
Besides that, it'd have to be Wizards of Winter by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

I love the Pogues' Fairy Tale of New York. It's a nice tale of love lost, without being sappy and cheesy.

The only decent Christmas songs which come to mind are Louis Armstrong - Zat you Santa Claus and Run DMC - Christmas in Hollis. I'm not really a fan of Christmas songs but those two are alright.
