Say who your favorite monster is and why

Mines the Tonberry :tonberry: mainly because he's so mysterious and dangerous
Its just so cool
I mean look at his strength
Its soo good

Whats your favorite? :P
 
My favorite monster has to be the Malboro.

not only are they hideously ugly which is a major need for monsters but they have the bad breath attack, which is a real beatch when you don't have protection from any of it's nasty assed status changes. and their just pure EVIL
 
I'd have to say the werewolf of FFI because they had the first appearance of regen status as well as the first appearance of werewolves in the series, and I miss fighting more of the movie-classic monsters in FF.

Other than that.....GREEN WOLVES!?!!?
 
Um it would have to be the Bomb (bomb in general, particularly from FFX) family, I always found them to be cute and fierce little things (well except when they grow into ridiculous sizes).

"Living explosives, prone to destroying themselves along with their enemies with their powerful "Self-Destruct." Bombs take the rage built up by being attacked and transform it into energy. This, in turn, makes them grow, sometimes to incredible sizes."

I don't think they're left out of the Final Fantasy veteran list of monsters because they were incorporated into so many of the titles. (Balloons, Bomb, Grenade, Exploder, and the famous Bomb King):ed:

Tonberry, definitely. Small and cutesy, holding just a knife and lantern, yet in every single game, as soon as they arrive, it becomes an instant 'ohshi-' moment. They're never easy to kill; I remember spamming trigger happy to get more satisfaction out of killing them in X-2.
 
Warmech from Final Fantasy I. Nothing is more disturbing than walking across a bridge and running into an enemy that is not only more powerful than Tiamat(The boss of the Flying Fortress), but a rival to Chaos himself.

Its a pity he never appears as a normal enemy in the later games....
 
Well this a tough one, malboro's are pretty good behemoth is pretty good but how can such a powerful monster be killed instantly by the Death spell(FF8)? you would think a monster that gives u a hard battle over & over again would be in there......I like Elnoyle from FF8 because of Squall's unique Ronzokuken attack for it, I dont really have a favourite monster but I do have a fvourite Boss Battle.....hey thats gives me an idea.....
 
I think I have to go with the Tonberry. Their so adorable, yet deadly.<3
I kinda have a weakness for anything cute.XD
 
Hmm... my absolute favorite would have to be the Mandragora from FFXIII :)

I mean, c'mon! They're so adorable! I never want to kill them when I pass by a mandragora like monster.
And in XII, fighting the Mandragora Prince.... the saddest moment in the whole game for me. :gonk:
 
Um a very hard question but I would have to go with Dark flan off FF X I mean come on there giant dark jelly things they look so cool!!

The first time I played FF X I would battle a lot of those tiny flans like water flan fire flan but when I was in mt Gazget I battled a dark flan it gave me such a scare I mean look at them they are huge!
 
I don't actually have a favourite monster- but if I was to answer, I'll go for the Mandragora boss battle (FFXII) involving the whole family facing your party in the Sochen Cave Palace. I found them adorable- I didn't want to kill them!

I despised the Entite monsters in FFXII- the ones that appear when there are certain conditions ie. blizzards. They're bloody hard to kill, and easily to be killed by.

More effort in your posts please guys, please try to explain why these monsters are your favourites. One liner posts with no elaboration are usually regarded as spam.

I think I have to put Tonberry down as my favourite monster. They're just so adorable, yet difficult to kill, so you end up feeling quite accomplished when you kill one of the little buggers. xD
 
Ok sorry x Tonberrys are my favorite monster because i just wanna give one a massive hug their adorable even if the end result is getting stabbed through the stomach however the little bastards are a pain in the ass in VIII trying to get king tonberry 20 OF THE LITTLE BUGGERS oh well x
 
My favorite is also the Tonberry. I never looked at him as an adorable wittle guy, so I like him for how badass I think he is. He is always (as far as I know) by himself, he is pretty mysterious, and I'm a fan of that random Chef's knife. He's very quiet, calm... because of what he wears, he looks quite comfy and it's just so random -and for all that, he seems even more deadly.

Okay um. The varunas in FFX, definitely. I'm a sucker for anything diabolical-looking. Elnoyles in FFVIII were pretty awesome too.

And tonberries are so overrated. -_- They were annoying, if anything.
 
Well since they're monsters I don't particularly like any of them. They're monsters! They must all die a quick death. I need to keep my HP up!

I have a few actually. Tonberry's, there's something mysterious about them. I remember when I first encountered one in...FFIX. I thought it was really cute with its little knife, brown cloak, and lantern. Of course, I thought Zidane would kill it in one hit. WRONG. After about four turns of attacking it with my best hits and it slowly getting closer...and closer...and closer, I became downright terrified. And then he killed Zidane in one hit. I checked after Momma Tonberry fed my characters to her children, I don't think I took off a quarter of its HP. Like I said, terrifying. Because of that, I trust nothing cute. They're actually the deadliest of all! Except maybe a Behemoth.

Second is the Zu. I'm just mesmerized by how they can...fly. They're intimidating like a Pterodactyl, except a lot meatier. The other one I like is the Cactuar. Very cute, and they make that cute little ting or bouncy noise when they move around. Of course 1000 Needles is never pleasant, but they always drop an insane amount of AP. If you can take them out quick, then sure they'll be my favorite.

There should be a favorite boss topic, unless I missed it. That would be interesting. ^^

Shhh, you're not supposed to notice that!

I really like the tonberries, like everyone else seems to, but Ruby Dragon takes it for me. Yes, Ruby Dragon from FFVIII. I love their Breath move and the fact that it can kill all of your team at once. They're completely badass and I hate fighting them, but I love them for their killer moves as well. Well AND there's the whole thing with Laguna where you have to kill it with a gunblade... that was epic :ryan:
