Euro 2008

I'm backing Spain all the way, I'd love to see them lift it. If the Germans win I shall be thoroughly disappointed.

The German defence looks to be the weakest part of their line-up and I hope the likes of Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso put heaps of pressure on to eventually exploit the German defence. Come on Spain!

Which is why almost 64% of viewers on ESPN Soccernet voted for Spain to win the Euro 2008 Finals today, me included!

Hoping for ppl like Cesc, Torres, and co. to do their stuff and carve open the Germans' weak link, which is the creaky defense...

Oh true, so true. I hope Guiza does well today since Villa is out. I wonder how they're going to line out the forwards, hopefully it'll be the same...

I also heard Ballack is questionable.

Gotta say i reckon spain will do it. With viila and torres playing its gonna make it a tough game for germany, but i guess they could do it, never rule out the germans. IM just gutted holland are out i had money on them from the start.

Germany had a bright start, but Spain have started to get into the game. I just think Germany's defence looks suspect against the Spain attack at times.

and spain have taken the lead, Fernando torres Scored, Was there any dobt, he always scores in the important games

Spain win and it's fully deserved really. I wrote them off at the start of the tournament and I was wrong this time. Aside from a bright start and a brief period around 60-70 minutes Germany were desperately short of ideas tonight and as someone who loves great defences their defence has been painful to watch today. Against Turkey they made up for it with some good attacking but today Spain had their measure easily.

So well done to Spain - credit to Germany for making the final (not many in the UK will do so to be honest) but the best team won.

Spain won, yes!!!! they deserved to win it the way they played, and what happened to Ballacks head, i didn't see him gettin hit in the head or something

At the end there, Spain were compared to Arsenal in the way they play and have the chances, but don't score the goals. If only Arsenal would have the trophies to show for that. Spain rightly deserved that win tonight. Other than the opening 15 minutes, they had Germany beaten all over the park.
One thing (or player) that didn't impress was Corzula. There was a couple of times towards the end there that he had great chances to provide a goal, but seemed to just do nothing and ran into a dead end.

Get in there Spain, I knew they'd lift it. Germany's defence just couldn't keep up from the start and what a goal Torres scored. Fully deserved win.

I've recently watched the final game a couple hours ago on my French sports channel. It was a nice and hard played game. I honestly thought Germany would take this final match, however I was wrong and Spain won it. Either way, both teams deserved to be recognized.

Was that really Cazorla who just stood in front of Lehmann and a wide open goal before passing it into traffic? :gasp: That was such an idiotic move.

Anyways, congrats to Spain for finally winning this thing after what, 48 years of nothing? They fully deserved it. The defense was outstanding minus a couple plays including the one where Puyol got trapped in the right corner and practically gave the ball out to a German player. And the missed call where Silva could've been red-carded. :gasp:
I'm pretty sure Spain could've scored 2 more goals if it the players weren't too astonished that they were actually winning. One I already mentioned and the one where Senna was just a tad off in tapping the ball from an Iniesta header.

I guess we all know that Spain won >.> good thing Germany didn't win though and Spain could've scored another goal >.>

Spain could have scored two or three more goals. I think Iniesta's multiple hesitations prevented one or two, as Alan Shearer said. Germany had one decent chance in the whole game despite the fact that they had a good bout of possession for 5-10 minutes of the second half. They just couldn't break Spain down.
