Epic lags of fail

it seems to have improved for me since getting to my mums, not sure if its coincidence or down to me having a shitter pc and IE and him having Firefox, Ive sufered zero lag...so I shall check when I get home. If this site is IEist I wont be a happy bunny D:
 
Firefox definitely helps. It basically pisses all over IE when it comes to almost everything, especially speed. And since you're on a better computer then that will undeniably help also, which is why I think I lag very little. :gmonster:
 
See i dont have any problems viewing or replying to threads, its completely the sb which is lagging..
 
Holy Server Craziness, Batman, I just switched to Firefox and the Lag is GONE. Instantly. Took me 4 minutes to get to this thread on IE, and less than 20 seconds to type int he url, login, and get back into this thread on firefox.

EDIT: That being said, can an Admin put a disclaimer somewhere on the top of the page that Firefox works better over IE for performance?
 
I've been using Firefox ever sine I've been at this site, and even though it lags at times on Firefox, I still have to wait 4x as long when using IE here at FFF.
 
I use Google Chrome and its fast. The SB still lags a lot but i haven't got a server busy lately *knocks on wood*
 
Haven't had this problem in a looong time to be quite honest. Last time I got was prolly about a week after I got promoted? Other than then, I've had rarely any lag around the site and the shoutbox has ALWAYS been dodgy for me no matter what I've tried.
 
The shout box isnt loading for me at all anymore. Is there something going to be done about it? Because its clear that its not just a few members whose suffering from lag..
Its soo annoying!
 
Even though I hardly get lag, since I'm in the junior admin usergroup and all that, I'll have to go with the majority and say that Firefox is definitely faster than IE. Although, that's the rule for most websites - not just exclusive to FFF...
 
Oooh. I am starting to guess its thanks some server-related problems, and perhaps cos of the many different hacks installed in this forums, plus the number of members, threads and all....

Well, the problem already left me.. Seems it particular enjoys haunting me on a fort-nightly basis, attacking nearly at random...

So is this confirmation that the usergroup you are in definitely makes a difference on the speed of the site?

It is common internet courtesy to put a disclaimer on the page somewhere that says something to the effect of "For best viewing results...." You'd be surprised just how many people still are unaware of Firefox's advantages over IE.
 
The sb lag is finally gone thankfully. Its loading up instantly as oppose to never now :)
I was expectin a server busy msg earlier as it took a post i made a good minute to go through, but seems it was a one off.

Being admin/junior admin doesn't mean you don't get the server message. You get the lag regardless of usergroup :)

I got server busy message last night :lol: just aswell i was off to bed. The sb also started lagging again but *touchwood* it seems ok now.
 
Im at home and using firefox.....I had no idea it made a difference at all...it would be nice to have something somewhere to tell people (who are abit dim like me) that Friefox could fix lag preoblems >_>

Although Im still not fond of it, I guess I'l just have to suck it up. I came on before, still using IE coz I forgot liek, and it took like 5 minutes to load a gay thread. sO I thought fuck this! And changed over :gasp:

Drunken translation ftw :D My lag seems to have disappeared now, it was primarily in the shoutbox but it started to effect the entire site -__- Bastard internet. It's okay now though, god bless firefox 3.0
