Omg as crazy as I am about rpgs I found another one that looks really really good. Ill be getting it for xbox 360 cause im more of a 360 guy than ps3. OMG But this looks reallyy great http://eoe.sega.jp/ The character desins are so ood. It has beautiful graphics! Its made by Sea and Tri-ace. I have a feeling this game is gonna be something spectacular! I JUST LOVE JRPGS!!!!!

Oh wow, you're right...does look amazing! This is the kind of graphics I dig for...nothing too colorful (though there's nothing wrong with that either) but just right. I went to the website and it looks grand - the music sounds military-like and at the same time melodic.

I watched the trailer on youtube as well. Looks unique - guns as weapons for an RPG. Not sure how that will turn out but I guess we'll find out.

Edit: Actually I just watched another trailer...one that's pre-rendered and there's a bit more of colors on this one. I love it all the same. :D http://kotaku.com/5212369/the-first-end-of-eternity-trailer

So Mits <3 which will you be getting it for? Xbox 360 I bet. Oh and yes it is a gun rpg! It looks really good graphic wise like you said. So yeah since I love JRPGS this is another on my "to get list" OH and Yes the website is very nice!

is anybody going to get the demo tomorrow (or today japanese time) as it is out for both xbox live (gold only) and on PSN just to let you guys know

Ah thanks for the info. I have a few 48-trial for Gold Live so I'll use it up and download the demo. Kinda inspired to play the game since I made my own game-cover for PS3 on CS3. If I like the battle-system and storyline I'll be getting it for PS3 since I hope to have the console around March.

Yup. The characters in this game are certainly more interesting than in Star Ocean IV or Infinite Undiscovery. It's interesting to have only three main protagonists in Zephyr, Vashyron and Reanbell. What killed Infinite Undiscovery was the fact that there were so many characters- many of whom were generic.

The world certainly seems more gloomy- hopefully Tri-Ace has an awesome, tragic story from it. I like how the setting isn't a fantasy world, but rather Earth in a very dystopic image of a future. There is real potential conflict within the class system of the city.

The gun gameplay is certainly interesting. It makes a nice change to the sword-wielding protagonists. Tri-Ace are certainly doing a good job of portraying a more realistic image of the game world. I hope that translates into a good battle system.

Someone mentioned this on another forum to me. Said it was a must have and Im impressed. It looks ALOT better then Infinite Undiscovery, huge waste of time. May import if possible.

All I can say is this is coming out on the same exact day as Final Fantasy XIII and ill be getting XIII first. Btw their is no demo only in japan which sucks big time. Anyone know when the english demo is coming out? This game looks so badass. Btw is it only 1 player cause from the most recent trailer it looks like their isn't.

Its coming out on the same day as FFXIII? VERY bad move, there. Between this and FFXIII, I know which one I'd pay the most attention to...if they've got any sense, they'll move the date forward or push it back, because something tells me FFXIII will be the higher priority for most people interested in this.

Still, regardless of what else is coming out, I'll be getting this on launch day~

From what I've heard, this game is like a complete contrast to FFXIII, as far as JRPGs go. I might pick it up, if for no other reason than the fact that it's different.

I've seen GamesRadar give it a respectable 8/10 (inferior to FFXIII according to them). I'd like to see if there's a demo of the game to try out before I buy it. The gunplay battle system is certainly a JRPG novelty and something I'm intrigued at. From what I've read, it isn't that bad actually and it's nice to see Tri-Ace taking this new course.

As for the story - I want to know if it's any good. The three main characters look like an interesting bunch - though I can see Zephyr being a cliched character though. Vashyron and Leanne look alright. The dystopic Bazel setting looks original as well.

I'll definetely be buying this once I free up the cash. tri-Ace RPGs are always fantastic, and pairing them with SEGA sounds like a winning combination to me. The combat looks interesting, and what little I've heard of the soundtrack is top-notch. Its going to have to wait a little - I'd like to finish FFXIII fully, and Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening is going to occupy me for at least a week - but its definetely one to buy in the future, methinks~

Does anyone from the US have this game yet? I'd be interested in gathering some first impressions~

Probably gonna buy this in late April or the beggining of May. I know I wanna play it because it looks awesome but it can wait till then xD. So from what I am seeing it got pretty good reviews. I really like the character designs. This is a gun rpg that hopefully is really good >_> Its certainly not gonna be better then FF XIII though.

Been playing this for a few hours now, thought I'd give a bullet point mini review for anyone interested:

+ It looks spectacular. There is something quite charming about the grunge-ish scenery. It reminds me a great deal of the movie Steamboy, if anyone has seen that. The character models are quite good, as well...although Pater disturbs me greatly. His voice, his entire design, they're so out of place...its got to be intentional. I pray it is, because I haven't been more freaked out by an NPC in recent memory...
+ The battle system for this game is infinitely superior to FFXIII's, in my opinion. Its of a similar style to Eternal Sonata - turn based, but with the ability to move around on the field. You're given a reasonable degree of control over your characters' actions, although a lot of it is still automated. You can't win in this game just by hammering X, however - I tried that and got decimated. You need to be close up to your enemies for your gauge to charge fast enough for you to fire.
The Hero special moves in this are very flashy indeed, as well. Square brings up a line for you to position as you please, which your character then runs along, and you can fire at will. Pressing Square again makes them jump, and you can then execute all sorts of flashy combos...just by hammering X, alas. It DOES look good, but it makes the game very easy, though. I've won most battles with Hero actions - run, jump, shoot.
+ Customization is quite detailed - you can attach and remove parts to your guns, and each gun has a weight limit. I've yet to see these customizations on the guns themselves in combat, however...and giving Leanne a miniature bazooka to wield appeals to me immensely.
+ Storyline appears to be going absolutely nowhere. I'm not even sure its actually started yet...it had a typical Japanese opening - the kind that makes little to no sense at all - and it seems to have completely stopped before its started. It could pick up, though...will have to wait and see.
+ Music is, thus far, not particularly noticeable. Nothing has really stuck out in my mind - I've downloaded the 6-disc soundtrack (which is about 6 hours long...) so I'll examine that somewhen. Voice acting is pretty good...what little of it there has been, anyway.
+ The energy hex system is highly addictive...you win them from defeating enemies, then use them to fill the map in. Its like a puzzle - you get different shaped energy hexes, as well as different colours. It'd be nice if the map was more interactive than just a cursor, though...
+ Battle arena and sidequests are nice, but they've been highly repetetive thus far...deliver this, kill that, find something else. Its a minor complaint, but having to go back to the person who issued the quest to complete is annoying, as well...

Odds are I'll review this when I finish it, but thus far its shaping up to be quite good, asides the noticeable lack of story.

So I finally Played this last night. I must say it is very interesting. I was confused as hell at first about the battle system(probably still am) I have no idea how to cause a smackdown and I noticed its really hard without your hero gauge. I also noticed that the world map is confusing as hell. I have no idea what those pieces on the map do. So far so good. Its really frustrating sometimes though. I am sure that will change as I advance..

*revives* Anyone asides me and Miyuski bought this yet? xD

Now I'm past the initial difficulty hurdle of Chapter 4 (I am NEVER fighting that bastard Caligula at a low level again...) it's gotten a lot more...balanced. More bezels = more room for mistakes. Although more health = more bezels lost when you get hit for full scratch damage. I believe one bezel is equal to 1000 points of scratch damage...all the same, it's easier to take things out now.

...but if it isn't one thing, it's another. Now enemies are poisoning me, which drains your health. Never mind doing scratch damage, it drains your health. I had a nightmare encounter with three Level 74 giant mechanical monstronsities that shot poisonous beams at me...yeah, might leave that battle for later. xD

Try chapter 14 :hmph:

Absolutely HATE the dungeon i'm up to, even with a level 60+ party i'm messing up :sad3:

I've just started this although I've had it for awhile.
The battle system thing is interesting and different and still quite complicated so I'm still getting used to it. I'm quite liking it so far, but I'm not sure that I'd recommend it.
The lack of any tutorial whatsoever isn't great. I like the fact that it's different, that it's unusual. Compared to FFXIII which I've just finished playing, this feels a bit unpredictable, whereas FFXIII was so familiar and boring.

The lack of any tutorial whatsoever isn't great.
There's a tutorial in the battle arena. It goes through each step of the battle and each and option you could choose in battle. It's still very very complex though. :gasp: I can't figure out how to make smackdowns work. :ness:

I've played this for about 40 minutes and it is certainly very complex, but unique, which makes me determined to give it a chance before I abandon it. If I have time between completing XIII and getting XIII-2, I may take a further look. Having said that, methinks I'd be better to play it when I am able to focus on it for a while. I can't imagine being able to pick this game up part of the way through. :wacky: (I'm still very close to the beginning)

The Arena's not really a tutorial, it has a page or two of vague instructions then tells you to go and do it for yourself. Whilst that's not exactly a bad thing, it is quite hard, it took me ages to do a tri-attack, though I found the rest very easy. But there's no tutorials for anything else. Nothing that tells you about leveling up, or customising weapons or anything like that.
