Multiple Platforms Dragon Age Origins

Cheating on Alistair with a corpse? That'd be awesome..."I'm the Queen and I'll sleep with whoever I want!"

Why is it only Oghren that comes over in Awakening, though? I never used him! I'd rather it were someone interesting, like Shale or Alistair...hell, even Zevran would be preferable. I'd also like to know what happened with
Morrigan
as well...hopefully we'll see more of her in Dragon Age 2.

Anyways, I finished up my Origins file this morning, and imported my Queen to Awakening. Only cleared out the courtyard thus far, though. Nice to see I keep all my equipment - decimating enemies with the Summer Sword is always fun. My companion now has the Juggernaut armour equipped, as well~

I agree with your spoiler, I cant wait for that. I
can see her bringing the child archdemon thingy along to the castle and demanding something from Alistair as its kinda his child
:gonk:

I guess that'd only happen if they make Dragon Age 2 compatible with the original, since the whole ritual thing was optional. However, I'm sure they could come up with something if the player didn't elect to take that option in the original DA, and Bioware have a great track record for making their games link together, so its a fairly good possibility~<3
...its too annoying a loose end to leave unanswered, though. I think it'd be quite interesting seeing the thing as a party member...it'd be like
Legion
in ME2. It'd be even more awesome if you could seduce it. XD

Anyways, I'm about two hours in now, and I LOVE Anders. He's got an awesomely dry sense of humour. I'm also fairly shocked that
Mhairi died at the Joining. I was all "Shit, is that supposed to happen?!"
There are some lovely tomes on sale that let you fully re-distribute your specializations and attribute points, as well. I'm happy. Means I can make my mage an Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage/Battlemage when I transfer him over, and it means I won't be stuck with party members with crap stats. XD

That talking Darkspawn, as well...I was half expecting him to shout out "I CAN SING!" in Simpsons Planet of the Apes style, they were all making such a fuss over him! His design reminded me of Nemesis a great deal...

I'm a tad annoyed I've lost everything that was in my chest at Warden's Keep, though - if I'd have known that would happen, I would have sold it all. I might still go back and organize my inventory...although wading through the ending battles of the game again isn't very appealing at the moment. I've got about 160 gold, which is enough to get me some decent-ish equipment. Although one piece of armour costs 155 gold...

Bit pissed off with the guide, as well. Over half of it is a list of armour, and essentially a reprint of the startup bit of the first guide, plus a little more stuff about new specializations, etc. There isn't too much to do in Awakening, by the looks of it...although I still expect at least 15 hours of it per file.

They are meant to be releasing alot more DLC I was informed. Im hoping so. Maybe the reason there was no save, that may be it for this collection of heroes? I hope not, I adore these characters.

I dont have this game but it looks really cool and i might consider buying it.
I love that you can be a female mage!
im gunna be a female mage.

Get it then ... anyway ...

Think Ive racked up 7 or 8 hours and got 1 achievement lol. Just got Justice in my group and Sigrun, just need Velanna now. An elf who hates EVERYTHING! Possible a Morrigan character. Bumped into Wynne, which was lovely.

I just finished off the Blackmarsh...been slacking a bit in playing this game. XD;
Still, the Queen of the Blackmarsh...wowee-wow-wow! Now, THERE is a proper dragon! Although she was surprisingly easy...but then, I was using Justice and Oghren who both hit almost as hard as I do, and I had Anders running backup. We pwned her very quickly...I am a tad disappointed that the battle theme wasn't the Archdemon/High Dragon one, though D:
I need to re-tune everyone again...I want Anders to have fire spells, and Justice needs more Strength so he can equip the Sentinel armour currently on Oghren, who is getting ditched for Sigrun in all probability anyway...

Finally got to play this and I got to say that I enjoyed every minute of it. The whole universe and atmosphere was great, the characters were cool (and most of them funny), and the battle system was easy to get into and offered plenty of customization options.

If I was to make just 1 complaint though, it would be that the storyline didn't quite live up to BioWare's usual high standards. Sure it was a decent enough storyline, but compared to something like Mass Effect or Knights of the Old Republic, it was a pretty formulaic and rather predictable ordeal without any major plot twists. I played through the game as a dwarf noble and I honestly thought that
Behlen's conspiracy to kill Trian and frame the player character was the most surprising and interesting plot point in the game

Ohgren was actually quite a good character if you got used to him, definatley better at 2h fighting than Sten, and his dry sense of humor is always fun, since my main is a tank-type I like to bring Ohgren along and position him to the rear of whomever my character is tanking.

For amusing results, try to get his random dialog with shale or morrigan, its funny how he fires back with sarcasm and catches the fun poking duo off guard xD

As for DLC, the next DLC will be Lelianna's song, this time it'll be about Lelianna's past in Orleis could be quite interesting to play i reckon.

Dragon Age Origins is the first Bioware game I've played, and now I want to play Mass Effect, Kotor and Jade Empire. I'm buying a 360 because of Bioware, isn't that something? I know I could play those games on PC but I'm a console gamer. Always have been and always will be.

I got this for christmas and it's definitely been one of the best games of the year. I've finished it, and all the DLC with all achievements. It's the first game I ever found good enough to bother with getting all the achievements, aside from ME, which I was too lazy to try get them all with.

I love Alistair and Morrigans banter while dungeon crawling, they never failed to make me laugh when they started going at it.
And Oghren and his drunkenness, always good for a laugh. =D

I enjoyed Dragon Age. First time I played I was an elf mage and fucked a lot of stuff up XD. And I recently I played as a City Elf rogue because I like being the underdog. I was the ultimate good character this time. Also
I wanted a sad ending so I had, a romance with Alistair, made him king, and my character make the ultimate sacrifice in the end.

I kind of want to play the othe origins. Maybe Castless dawrf? For whatever reason I have no desire to play the noble human.

Other than dwarf noble, human noble was probably the most interesting origin story in the game. It really ties in with the main story arch in a way which none of the other origin stories managed.

I looooooved loved LOVED this game. I bought it a few months ago and have finished it around 4 times and started multiple playthroughs which have yet to be finished.
This is my favorite game ever. I didn't think I would become such a fan.
Alistair is GOD, I love his jokes and he was so romantic, couldn't resist dating him a couple of times xD All characters were good (except for Leliana, didn't like her) voice acting was amazing! Story was amazing! pff, what more can I say. Music was amazing, you had so many choices... I definetely rate this game 10/10

Got the Ultimate Edition today. I've been kinda iffy with these kind of games, but I thought I'd finally give it a try. I'm not a fan of the whole "hordes of demons" theme, and that's actually what's put me off from purchasing it for some time now. I'm one of those silly gamers where the slightest eerie music would make me pause the game and debate with myself whether I should turn the console off or what. So having "monsters" displayed on my TV screen is not ideal, but I'll give this one a try. I'm at the part now where I'm about to become a Grey Warden. Haven't exactly explored the game controls yet and Menu system, but so far it's pretty decent.

I got a bit past that part and kept dying because I really suck at these kinds of games. Then I gave up. I'll probably start it again (eventually) as a different class. Not liking how things are turning out for me right now.

Which class did you start with, @Draklor ? Noble human for me, male, warrior. (Should have tried mage, but oh well). I read somewhere that if your character is female, the game is creepier? o_O I don't know if that's true, but I went with male anyway.

And any tips from veteran players would be cool. :busta:

It's not very hard.
You can switch which character you control, so you can play as a mage even if your main character is a warrior. As long as you have a mage in your party that is.
I'm not sure about creepier, but if you start off as a female city elf your character does get kind of close to being raped. But that's implied rather than shown.

I chose a Dalish Elf and I think I was a warrior. I want to go back and be a rogue like when I first played it a year ago. And Bez I tried that and kept dying :P I kept getting ganged up on by darkspawn and my attacks and my companions attacks didn't kill them fast enough.

I'd suggest this order for the main plot quests: Circle Tower -> Nature of the Beast -> Urn of Sacred Ashes -> Paragon of her Kind

Doing Circle Tower first is definetely a good idea - you get some useful stat boosts in the Fade, and if you side with the mages (which I recommend for your first time - just use the item you'll get on them at the end battle) then you'll recruit Wynne, who I'd recommend using over Morrigan, since the Shapeshifter specialisation is useless, and it's what she comes with. Wynne is a Spirit Healer, which lets you revive characters, and whilst you can teach that specialisation to Morrigan as well, having two decent specialisations is better than one, right?

Urn of Sacred Ashes and Nature of the Beast are both equally simple, so it doesn't really matter what order you do them in. Paragon of her Kind is irritating though, which is why I say leave it until the end.

I'd recommend getting Shale before you do any of that, though. Shale is a good fourth character to have in your party (I'd suggest having the other two as Wynne and Alistair, purely because Alistair is a good tank and Wynne > Morrigan, even if Morrigan is more entertaining) because it takes forever to die.

Draklor - Be sure to play around with tactics, not many people use them, but they make combat so much easier.

If your enemies are ganging up on your main character, I suggest falling back and using potions (if you're low on potions, have your mage make more in between combat, there's an endless amount of Elfroot for sale in the Brecilian outskirts if you need it), then switch to Alistair (or whoever the tank is) and have them come in and use Taunt.

Wynne is definitely important. She already has Group Heal and Revival, so keep her far away and have her revive you or whoever when you need it.
