Just started to play this game and I love it.
When u can choose which character u want to follow I chose the part where u go to the train. Goddamn that part...
It was long, you didnt get decent experience and the figging ghosts were always in my way!!! :notfunny:
I made it throgh in one piece more or less but still very dreadfull place...
It reminded me of the train graveyard in FF VII.

I only started this game for my first time not long ago, and I have to say I never really had any problems with it.
You can always recruit the ghost in the far-right area for an extra member ad-infinitum as I found.
By that time Shadow had already left my party -__-

It did get repetative going through cart after cart after cart. Some of the ghosts will sell you items and weapons which is good but over all its not the best part of the game. I hated having to use the switches to move the furniture so you could get by and remembering the order you open the chests in was a real pain. Seems like every ff has one of these boring parts dont it?

I actually enjoyed this part of the game. Out of the three scenarios I enjoyed Sabin and Cyans the most. The ghost train was semi challenging for me (probably because VI was one of the first FFs I played) but manageable and recruiting the ghost helped me out. So yeah the Ghost train didn't really bug me at all.

I didnt like this part when I played it in snes but in the other platforms I was like what the hell lets just go on with it. The part is not bad it just sucks badly but the story is good and the ghosts are nice and come in handy.

It. Annoyed. The. Living. Crap. Out. Of. Me.

Only because I always ferget what I'm doing every play through and I tend to talk to EVERY fricking ghost who 8 times out of 10 throw you into a battle...

I still had Shadow. Not that it helped much. The extra ghost didn't either really. Sabin did nearly all the work fer me.

And then the boss fight... urghhhh ... so... easy it was a let down. In my honest opinion. >_>

yeah thank god the battles weren't that hard. But cyan kept dieing in the more difficult battles. I guess the beasties didn't really like him... Or maybe it was because I was too slow with the healing potions...

I slightly disliked that whole part of the game. That stupid n00b treasure hunter guy did something to me and I kep going out of doors then being mauled by ghosts. I think I went over the whole train twice before realising how to get off. Then I fought the train boss by just using dispatch and pummel the whole time. In the end it was quite easy.

I can't remember facing any serious problems with it. I thought having a ghost in the party, though he didn't do much and didn't stay long, was a nice little addition.
I wouldn't say the part of the game was boring or tedious either... We had a nice little cutscene half way through where they dine, and the ghosts serve them dinner. :D And Cyan asking if it is safe to eat etc, lol.

I liked the train, but I love trains, granted since the train was dead, it was easy to kill him with a phoenix down

I was stuck o that train for ages, going backwards and forwards because I couldnt work out how to get off it. It did myhead in, and yet again, those damn ghosts getting in your way blocking your path. Grrr. It's just one of those areas taht makes me die a little inside when I know Im almost there >_>

HOW I could get lost in a place that is left/right only is beyond me, but I did -_-

olol Bam. As did I... XD EVERY play through I manage to get myself lost. Poor sense of direction on my part perhaps.

... You know, I never EVER thought to use a phoenix down. I hate that whole idea of being able to kill bosses with phoenix downs, though, so that might have been why.

And I was going to restart FFVI the other day until I saw this thread initially and realised that I would get lost again... so no FFVI for me again yet. O_O

LOL I got lost there 2. Also the doors in the train are sometimes not that clear. Maybe I have an eyesight problem....

I thought that portion of the game was quite good actually. I've never really had any problem on the train
(except for when you go through it again later in Cyan's Dream. Bah!)
and liked how some of the ghost help you. The boss, Phantom Train, should have been made to be harder considering you had at least 2 heavy hitting characters (or 3 if Shadow stuck around and you have Shurikens to throw).

the worst parts about the train would only come about if you're not leveled up enough, at least as far as I would find. Those are the times when I end up running out of healing supplies at the most inopportune time...but the music is great, and, when done right, the train is one of the more intriguing levels of the game!

The phantom train was actually one of my most favourite parts of the game along with the rest of Sabin's section. Apart from it never dawning on me to use a phoenix down when fighting the train, i never had any problems with the puzzles or the monsters on the train itself. Coupling the circumstances of why you're on the train, and along with the music played on it, i just thought it was great.

I loved the ghost train part. :) It was fun and one of the most gloriously surreal moments in the entire series. Especially the boss fight against it...where you're running away the whole time, and Sabin can suplex the train. I liked the train graveyard too.

But then again, I'm the guy who thinks Quina is awesome, so what do I know?

I like the Ghost Train part, I thought it was a good way to show the people departing for the afterlife, and it was touching that Cyan could have one last goodbye with his wife and son.

It was really annoying getting lost though, and it gets more annoying if Shadow leaves you halfway through it -__-
