Aww, I was hopping Laguna's EX Burst would be Desperado :sad3:

What is with all those cannons he whips out in battle? I expected him to be a bit more fast with attacks with his machine gun :hmmm:

Also, it showed Zidane getting his crystal, but if all of the original Dissidia cast got them in Dissidia 1, why does he have it in Duodecim too if it was before Dissidia? :hmmm:

On a more positive note, I do like the new attacks and the better homing for attacks, also glad Shanny and Gabs are actual characters now, I wonder if they get their own crystals in Duodecim, since they were from a past war and all?

That is great news for me. I love the Phantom Train part of the game, and I can't wait to see how it works as a stage. Hopefully you can fight inside it and also on the roof. It'll certainly be interesting.

However, could it just be that they are adding transport locations as well as battle locations? For some reason Phantom Train seems too good to be true for me.

It also makes me wonder who the next character will be. Are the characters always to be connected to the new stages? If so then that would require yet another hero. I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that we'll only be getting heroes, and will not have any villains. There aren't really any villains connected to the Phantom Train besides Siegfried and the train himself, neither of which really qualify as villains anyway.

Let's look at what we have for new characters:
FFIV - One new, good.
FFVII - One new, good.
FFVIII - One new, good.
FFX - One new, good.
FFXII - One new, good.
FFXIII - One new, good.

That's six new characters already, and they'd hinted that there wouldn't be very many more than that, and certainly not one character per game. Let's just assume that we won't get any new characters for the above games. That leaves us with FF, FFII, FFIII, FFV, FFVI, FFIX, FFXI and FFXIV.

I've heard people state that FF and FFII characters aren't happening, so I'll rule them out too. That leaves us with six games, which would equal the new good additions if they were to add six villains. However, that would be twelve new characters, and despite the number making sense given the title of the game I could have sworn they've stated we won't be getting twelve.

Let's just say we are. Who could we get as villains / sort of for these games?
FFIII - Never played it, but Xande would be obvious.
FFV - Gilgamesh!
FFVI - Tough one. Could be Gestahl, Leo, Ultros or anyone. I'm at a loss with this, as I can't find a link with any villains to the Phantom Train.
FFIX - Beatrix or Black Waltz No.3 (most likely Beatrix).
FFXI - Shadow Lord, or perhaps Lady Lilith.
FFXIV - I don't know of any characters from this game.

If we are to get equal villains then perhaps the above may be how they'd fill them out. If we are to not get any villains at all then that would really suck. I just feel that the heroes are probably done now that we have Yuna, and that if there are to be any new villains at all then it will be them we hear about next.

Ahaha now that you can finally see her feet and blue hakama in the trailer I was right. So Just wanted to say that I laugh at you guys for not thinking it was Yuna :lew: Theories of it being cosmos finally die.. No Yunalesca feet, Tidus or whoever else's feet. They are Yuna's :ryan: Next time you should all listen to me :tehe: Just the people who disagreed though :lew:

Anyways, I'm sorry because I know people like to bash S-E for any little thing, but I have to give Square-Enix some props here. They made sure there wasn't one damn leaked footage of Jump Festa trailer, and after watching it, there seemed to be good reason for that xD

And lol, that Yuna footage was literally only one second, and even I knew it was her.

I suppose the whole absurdly was the idea of character debuts through...body parts :wacky:

I would've preferred Auron, but I do actually like Yuna, and if nothing else, it's balancing out all that testosterone :8F:

I suspect the NA site will get a subtitled trailer soon enough :hmmm:
 
So the elusive proof has arrived. You can't blame me for being skeptical - we've seen hoaxes before.
As for how she'll play, I have a sneaking suspicion that Yuna'll draw inspiration for some of her moves from FFX-2, but for the most part she'll be a dedicated white mage - I had a feeling she'd be included ever since Tifa was put in, as she's the only main character white mage I can really think of beside Garnet (and I just didn't forsee FFIX getting much love, sad though it is).

I'll also be interested as to the changes to other characters, like Shanotto and Kefka. We've heard that Shanotto doesn't need so much rampant brave ramping to make her good, but Kefka... could we be seeing a nerf in the near future? We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

Doomtrain: Woo! I hope we get to battle on all three major planes: In the train, on the train and in front of the train. I also hope to see whether Tifa can, in fact, Suplex the train. $5 says she can't.

New Characters: I've just noticed something about the new characters coming in (bar Light) - each have had a piece of music that is either readily connectable or thematic to that character in Dissidia already. To recap:
Kain - The Red Wings (Kain was 2nd-in-command under Golbez)
Tifa - Opening theme (Yeah, I know, it fits Aeris better but it's still a piece of music that sums up all the warm fuzzy feelings between Tifa and Cloud)
Laguna - The Man with the Machine Gun (Do I really have to spell it out to you?)
Yuna - Fight with Seymour (It seems that Seymour and Yuna are two star-crossed lovers of a completely different kind - love-to-haters.)
Vaan - FFXII Boss Music (As the main character, this is the piece associated with him more than anybody else)

It might be grasping at straws, but to me this seems to back up my theory that we'll be seeing two new characters, both villains - Gilgamesh from FF5 (Fitting the Battle At The Big Bridge as his grand entrance) and the Shadowlord from FFXI (matching Awakening). Just my two cents.

Yuna's definetly going to be one of my mains, along with Terra and Cecil. Can't wait to see more about her. :jess:

I wonder if they'll add a new stage in for FFX, though? :hmmm:
 
Oh good god, they're keeping the Sephiroth stage the same as the first! I despised that stage so much I sold the game because of how impossible it was to navigate and fight on! It killed my desire to keep playing it.

Yuna is a nice choice.

They put Lightning in, and she's not so good. So I really like that they put Yuna in, she's a great character. I loved in her games, they were fantastic! :33

Aside from that YUNA! I hope they don't put ANY trace of gunner Yuna in this. I think one gunner character is enough to add in at one, not to mention... Summoner Yuna > Gunner Yuna.
 
They would have to give Yuna something to fight with. She cannot simply use her summons, you know. She'd have to be given something to help her fight. Gunner Yuna as a alt like Cecil seems to be a good idea, and would balance it off, I do believe.

Or, they could heavily edit her as they have for some and give her something; a weapon of some sort? Or give her mega black magicks. :P
 
Lightning was plenty good, transcending that, and is just straight up awesome :mokken:

I was thinking about the character reveal scheduling, and since S-E went ahead and officially confirmed Yuna, I guess we won't get anyone new until that 1st Production Conference on the 18th :hmmm:

Although I assume we'll still get an official look of Yuna's character art, gameplay and alt. costume in the next Jump issue *ponders*

The trailer showed Jecht on Cosmos' side, and for a moment I thought Chaos had less warriors (sans the, you know, ALL THE ONES REVEALED), but Terra should be over on Chaos' side, right? At least unwillingly?

EDIT: I was thinking about Yuna with black magic, but I dunno...She used it in FFX, sure, but it doesn't really match her all that much.

I read a comment that theorized that instead of summons, Yuna would take on the abilities of summons, so she's be fighting, but taking on powers of aeons. Kind of like FFVIII actually.

Also, dunno if this was mentioned before but in the trailer it shows Bartz vs Kefka and Laguna vs Garland and when Laguna attacks it kinda does an effect of an FF random encounter.

Perhaps the new way of exploring rather than the chess board style?
 
Yuna's not walking on water. :hmmm: It's just the crystallized ground area that everybody's in. :ryan: Okay she's not such a Mary Sue afterall. But the tip toey way she's walking is weird, what's she doing? "Shhh, I'm sneaking up on Kefka :tehe:
 
^ Again, it's likely just a throw back to that scene in FFX. They probably didn't really fully think about a legitimate reason for Yuna to be barefoot aside from "how can we do a character reveal in a half-assed but legitimate way?" :wacky:

...Unless a Sending is her ExBurst o_O
 
When you said that, it took me a minute to think "Well.. barefoot? Isn't Yuna always barefoot?" and I thought no, then I had to try and remember what she wore throughout the game.. "It's sandles.. she wears sandles... no that's not quite right..."

I hope they do some sort of dressphere switching with Yuna tbh, as I can't see how her being a summoner will work well... she could switch between Songstress, Gunner, White Mage/Summoner though, with her Ex-Burst being either summoning or her Special dressphere from FFX-2. (I actually like FFX-2 so I'd be fine with using FFX-2 Yuna. :wacky:)
