Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

^ Actually, I never did understand Squall's crystal in Dissidia. It didn't look like anything from FFVIII :hmmm:

Same goes for a lot of the other characters to be honest. I only recognized a couple of throw backs to the original game in their crystal, but I didn't understand most of them :/

Well, for the older games, they were more in a party, so their crystals represented what was of most meaning to them. Like for FF2, Firion has the "Rose" which meant a lot to the whole team, Guy, the girl and Leon. That rose was for them all. For 3, it was just one of the crystals from the game since it represented the same thing like it did for 2's crystal. For 4, well, I'm sure you know that one. For 5, same thing. For 6, Terra's father (Don't listen to the people sayings just Magicite, its her father no matter how hard they try to say otherwise), 10 is Yuna/Jecht's sphere, 9 is...I don't know, I've only begun to play 9, stuck on disc 2 lol.

world.

For games that originally didn't have "characters" except classes you name, a crystal from just the world represented what they needed. For games with characters, FF2, FF4, FF5, FF5, FF6, FF7, FF8, FF9, FF10 -- they actually got a crystal belonging souly to them, or a crystal that represented something they as an individual, cared for in the world. Like Tidus' crystal. :)
 
Maybe Tifa's crystal is her orthopedic underwear. She seemed pretty attached to them and offended when Cloud picked them up. :wacky:

But rly it's hard to decide/decipher a lot of the newer character's crystal's.. Especially in VII when there wasn't really a 'crystal' in the first place, so they settled on the materia.

It doesn't have to be a "crystal" like for FF3 or 1. FF2's was a rose. Like Tidus' wasn't a crystal, neither was Terra's. They were an object and Magicite. Its just an object the character is attached in some way.

Hehee, orthopedic underwear. :awesome: Poor Tifa, she should have kicked Cloud for saying that >.>
 
That does make sense. "Generic" crystals for non-character games, and something more specific for the ones with characters.

Hmmm...Squall's crystal doesn't look like his Griever accessory (but it probably could xD) and I can't think of anything that would tie into Seifer. His trademark were those red crosses. I've been reading how Squall's crystal is suppose to a wing and thus relates to Rinoa and sorceresses, but I really can't see it :wacky:

Random: I think one of my fave things in Dissida was being able to run on walls. That was just kewl :awesome:
 
Well Squalls crystal had the Revolver in it..........I think it could represent all thew various types of Gunblades from FFVIII?

The crystals of the all the earlier FF goons were all broken bits of rock;a testament to the fact that they are not as good as the later installments. Magicite, Materia and Spheres all make good momentous.
 
I swear Firion's crystal was just an ordinary one, and his Rose was just a reminder of his dream and such. He had that thing even before he defeated Emperor, so it can't have been his crystal :hmmm: The Rose represented good in FFII (The Wild Rose) and was a massive part of Firion's story; speaking of this topic, I look forward to his converstaions with Lightning, seeming as both are linked with roses.

VI, VII, VIII and X didn't actually have any crystals of any note so they had to be modified from items familiar to that game, and I actually thought VIII's one was the best out of these lot; the rest didn't even look like crystals, they didn't have the pointy edges crystals tend to have. X's was just a movie sphere.

I don't think crystals will be obtained in DDFF, seeming as the story of the game is about Cosmos' side getting defeated.

So they are gonna go through the whole game towards inevitable defeat...........how fucking lame! and we have to wait till the next Dissidia game for them to gain the ascendancy? Fuck that!

I dont read the thread often and have missed much obviously.WTF!?

Well, this isn't REALLY a sequel. It's a prequel. This is the 12th war, and the first Dissidia is the 13th, I believe.

As for the crystals... Firion's isn't a rose.

Here's an idea... Maybe Tifa's Crystal will be a ribbon? Since it was a momento to Aerith? :hmmm: I can't think of anything else that could apply to Tifa

Also, Zidane's is the logo of FF9 :mokken: and the
crystal at the end of the game
that you also see in Zidane/Kuja's battlefield.
 
I agree with whoever said that crystals probably won't be in this game - at least, not in the way they were in the first game.

Cosmos created the crystals in that game to
allow the warriors of light to survive the end of the world(s) and defeat Chaos
. Those events only happened in the final battle, as it broke the cycle. So I don't think that the crystals will be created this time around.


Unless SE completely screw me over and introduce some kind of storyline that retcons what I just said. >.>
 
Well, I'm tired. But I gotta say this be4 I go:

Now it's Cosmos's right, Chaos's left. Which means: Chaos most likely wins :O

Kuja's some kind of Good guy?

'n I think that Chaos's side had won all 1 to 12 battles until the last one (13) which explains alot, (Like how Chaos's side knows how these will end and repeat, whilst Cosmos's side doesn't know a damm thing)

Ah, then Firion's is like the others. They all wanted the same thing in 2, am I right? To protect and server, and all that. Still puts it in the same category as the older FF games with the groups fighting for the same thing.

I thought I saw Squall's lionthing on the gray spiky shard he had. Plus, it could represent all his weapons, or his team/friends.

I can't see the Lightning image you posted Fusionist :(

Well Square-Enix made some nice choices for the BGM's, especially with the FFIX Final Battle song. I always loved that songs! Can't wait until it's release day. I still wonder, which other characters will be appearing in Dissidia Duodecim?:hmmm:

Wasn't Neo-Exdeath in Dissidia anyway as a third track for FF5? :hmmm:

Same with FF9 final battle, unless it's Grand Cross/Necron? :hmmm:
