Did You Save Cid Or let Him Die?

I agree with you. Cid dying prompted Celes into suicide, but she survived and was revived by, wtf, a bird o_O

Anyways, it brought upon news hope to her and made her seek out her comrades.

Although, the first time I played through FFVI was trying to save Cid but I wasn't able to do it >_<
Doesn't it have something to do with a bird having Locke's bandana?

Anyway, I chose to kill him, it improves the story, and Cid was a nasty bastard. Building that raft and not telling Celes about it.

I never knew he could be saved until a couple of years after my first playthrough. But since then I've only saved him once and now always chose to have him die. Basically because it's quicker and the story is better. Besides its not like he's the first Cid to die.

Yeah, it really doesn't make much sense to save Cid's life, IMO. I mean, it sounds bad but what do you gain from it? :P

When I played the game, I didn't know he could be saved. So I thought it was all a non-optional part of the story. XD

I did what I could to save Cid, but after the 3rd time going back with Fish, he croaked. I don't really think it affected the gameplay as much; not sure what he would have done in the world had he lived throughout the rest of the story.

I liked Cid, but it's best to let him die.
If you let him live you'll miss one of the most emotional scenes in the final fantasy saga.

I tried to saved Cid but it was based off what kind of fish was given to him which is random so if he died then that is the game's fault for randomly giving me bad fish to feed him.

I tried to save Cid, but in the end I couldn't. I got really lucky at the beggining and got a yummy fish the first couple of times, but then I just got bad fish. It's more practical to let him die because you get to see one of the most powerful scenes in FF history.

I let the Twinkie man Die sad to say.

Mod Edit: Please put more effort into your post and say why you let him die. Thank you.^^

I could just let Cid die but when I was playing as Celes, I felt this exceptional need to save the old man's life because reminded of my own grandfather who died two years ago. I saved his life like the good Japanese gradndaughter I was but I wish that could do the same for my own grandfather. Oh well, he is in heaven now.

i didnt save him the first time round but i did the second time round, which really confused me as i was like...didnt he die last time?

I saved him i just couldn't let him die the first time then i let him die.

It takes to long to save him. I haven't ever done it.

Although, it took me many years to realize that you could. Plus, he is the worst Cid in any Final Fantasy installment that I can think of. Except maybe Final Fantasy III.

Inasmuch as Cid as could let Cid die off, I couldn't in good conscience let him die as he reminded me off my own grandparents that died a few years ago......I'll leave it at that.

Lol. I didn't realize what i was supposed to do at that point, and accidentally let him died off. Worse, I read the walkthrough for help on what to do, and knew he would die if i didn't do something.

Unfortunately i couldn't define something and couldn't save him anyway. Thus, too bad for him.

Well I just did that part and the old fool died.
But I'm not that bothered as it's my first playthrough and I'm allowed to make mistakes:gasp:
Plus I wouldn't want to force myself to kill him next time to find out what the outcome is...
So yeah, fool died! I've heard that it doesn't affect my party/storyline in any major way so I'm not really bothered tbh:wacky:

I killed him, I may make a second run so this time I may let him live. I still cant get over Cid's appearance in VI, its very silly

never had him die...took 4-5 fish and he was good. i dont remember spending hours just to give him "yummy" fish. Guess next play ill let him die.

I had no idea you could save cid til i read this thread, cant say im bothered though i didnt shed any tears when he died and he was somewhat of a random character so i never got attached to him
