[CX] The Facility

Wel I am on break after March 10thish or so for a week so I guess we can play something when that time comes?

Lucky you lot, breaks so soon :mokken:
I still play the PS3 a lot even when I'm at 6th form, mind :wacky:

It has all been explained to me :ahmed:

Still, Jay, shoulda just gone for a PS3 originally. PS3 > xbox :griin:

Anyone here tried GameFly yet? Sorta like Netflix but games, obviously. I'm wondering if I should sign up for it. :hmmm:

Funny story behind that. My friend just told me about GameFly last night. I haven't tried it yet but he says he has had no problems with it. It's a pretty good deal. He also says that GameFly is perfect for you if you plan to play Single Player games. Multiplayer games not so much because you may get addicted to it and may not want to exchange it. I am thinking about signing up for it myself.

Stupid question but what actually are both of them? I've seen people on Netflix but like, I have no idea what it actually is...

Netflix...if you sign up for it, you get a month trial free of watching a bunch of movies. Some old, some are quite new. You can watch TV shows as well. I think they update it with new movies every week or two, but they've got thousands of movies in their collection already.

They will also send you one DVD via mail, and you can hold on to it for as long as you want. Once you've watched the DVD, return it (no stamps included) in the envelope they provided, and it'll take a day or two until Netflix receives it. They'll send you another DVD rightafter. You can go online on netflix.com and add movies in the DVD queue and they'll mail those to you, one at a time.

It takes me a few days to a week before I return the DVD back to them.

After the one month trial is over, they'll start charging you $10 a month. Not a bad deal at all tbh, and so worth it if you're a movie fanatic.

Which reminds me, I think my one month trial is over soon. :sad3:

GameFly works the same way as Netflix, except the price is a little higher. Still a good deal though.

1 game out - $8 first month ... $16/month after
2 games out - $12 first month ... $22/month after
Free trial (2 games out)- 10-day trial free ... $22/month after

If I were to pick one, I'd choose the first deal. But I doubt I'd try it anytime soon.

You can cancel anytime with both Netflix and GameFly - no fees.

Ah so it's an American thing right? I thought it was something like that.
I don't watch films enough to warrant doing that to be honest, and I have all the games I need :lew:

Mits pretty much summed it up nicely. Like I said it seems to be really useful for single player games. Especially if you're the type to only play a game once and never play it again. Sadly I am like that. Once I finish a game I usually don't play it again for quite a while unless the game is a survival horror game.

My issue with it is I like to take my time when playing games...and I mean it would take me months up to a year or so just to be one game. xD So even if I hold on to the game for a long time, I'd still feel pressured somewhat...and I'd rather not feel pressured into finishing a game quickly. That and if it's going to take me months to beat a game...I might as well buy the game rather than pay $16 a month. That'd be a rip-off...

That's true. If that's the case then it'd probably be better in your case just to wait for the price of the game to go down then buy it then. As you said, even though it may not sound like much, if you spend too much time trying to finish a game the price for it add up quickly. Either that or mooch off a friend/family member. :lew:

Also, anyone else seen that shite floating around with blu-ray films nowadays?

"Triple Play" - Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital copies of the film.

I buy a blu-ray because the picture and audio are elite. If I wanted the bloody DVD or digital copy of it I would have bought those instead. Fantastic way to boost the price. :hmph:

Oh yeah, my friend bought the triple play version of inception :wacky:
Waste of money, why you need all three, I'll never know :gonk:

I agree. I've bought the movie/boxed set to watch on my Blu-ray player not for 3 different useless copies of it. I usually just give the copies to whoever wants it. Otherwise it just collects dust.
