So, quite a few of my threads I already made I want to change the name of, but the forum won't let me no matter what I do. I double click the empty space of where the thread name is, and usually it would allow me to type in a new name for the thread, but for some reason it won't let me. Just wondering if that's one of the many features that's not included in the forum.

You could ask one of the moderators to do it. They are always willing to help out the members of this forum.

I didn't know members could do this before; I just tried, and I can still edit thread titles by that method. So I don't know if it's now a staff-only thing, or if there may be a problem with your browser that isn't letting you do it?

Whoa, I was never able to change the thread names before, so now I'm really confused. :hmmm:

That has always been a staff power by default, I don't know about this specific forum though.

In any case, unless Shu and Suki says otherwise, methinks it'll stay as staff only editing thread titles for now :)

Actually that's a good idea. Is there any reason why we can't edit the title?

Huh...I edited my Dirty Picture thread in spam's title because I misspelled Member.

Was that just a fluke or was I imagining it?

I thought for sure that regular members could edit at most their own thread titles. Maybe I was imagining things like Ke$ha over here. :ahmed:

As far as I'm aware I've never been able to edit my thread titles, but I don't think I've ever really thought about it. To be honest, if we can edit our posts, I can't think of any reason why we shouldn't be able to edit our thread titles.

To be honest, I wonder why it has to be staff only. To me it seems to only be a thing to add to a staff member's job. Answer requests for thread title changes. I think it has always been staff only here. On other forums, I have been able to change a thread title as a regular member. I believe they were IPB though.

If I need any of the News section titles changing I need to ask Livola to change them for me. Though people do bring up a good point questioning why we can't change our own thread titles...

Well Ken, have you tried editing your thread using the Thread Options drop-down on the top bar there? :hmmm:

If it's not, I'm backing the idea of at least putting that power in members' hands. Seems like it would work out well for everyone and there's less hassle involved.

Belazor - I'm okay with this. :)

I guess no one ever brought up this topic before so it's always been setup this way ever since I can remember. We don't have permissions for this in the ACP as well - otherwise I would've enabled it awhile ago.

I don't see no option of changing the thread title in the thread tools/options. :sad2:. I don't know how Ryan is able to change it, and yet I can't. :gasp:

The way I did it, and this only works if you're the OP, obvs...

1) Click "Edit Post" of the OP.
2) Click "Go Advanced".
3) Make the changes to where it says "Title" at the top.
4) Click "Save Changes".
