Multiple Platforms Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

It was expected that popularity levels of this game would be so bloody irritating. Yes, Modern Warfare 2 is an exceptional example of how great a FPS can be, but it is the fanboys who are making the occasion just so unbearable.

I've had about ten people talking to each other about her experience at queuing outside Game or Gamestation at midnight when the game would first be on sale. I've seen all the major gaming sites worshipping Infinity Ward and how Modern Warfare 2 is the second coming of Jesus etc.

Today I have had people repeating to others over and over again of the airport massacre level. I don't mind playing the game- I'm not excited for it, but the least you want are people talking endlessly about it, reciting their experiences over and over again until it puts you off completely because of the annoying hype.

And Ive been told voer 6 thousand people have been banned from XBox LIVE because they recieved their copies early!!
I don't know what to think of it, I just read the BBC news and I think it's at least 10,000 people now. One part of me says typical Microsoft trying to screw everyone over but then I think you've got to look at they won't all be genuine copies of MW2. The ones that are will probably be unbanned soon.

I'm glad it's got fairly decent ratings. I think it would have been difficult to top MW...for any game. I sent my dad to get it even though I'm not getting it until Christmas :jtc:

Apparently about 7 boys I know skipped college today. I asked them why, and amusingly, only one was ill. The other six couldn't be bothered to show up because they were too preoccupied with Modern Warfare 2.

Infinity Ward should do what SE and a few other developers do and only release this game at the weekend- midnight on a Friday night/Saturday morning would be ideal. Then again, people will still be playing until Monday and skip college then!

So in reality? Would it really matter?

Like I said, probably not. Modern Warfare 2 has apparently tremendous amounts of hours worth of playing time- the multiplayer being the big sinner. It will matter though when the teachers and the principal come snarling after them for an explanation.

Im tempted to grab a copy closer to crimbo. I watched the red carpet treatment it got on the opening night down in London and no other game has had this sort of treatment before. Im impressed and the voice actors have been in soap operas!! Its madness. But I wanna get it and get involved with the hype. Worked for me with Harry Potter :D

I'm thinking about getting this, but I know it is a sub par FPS compared to most PC fpses before. Though since the interactivity is peak, I think that's where most people have fun.

I won't say this game will be crap, but I will say how many WW games can we pump out to save us. I guess I just miss quake and unreal tourny, bring those back (IN A BETTER WAY!!) and I'll be all over it. Since the majority of my friends are playing this game, I might just have to get it.

If only they could go with Soldier of Fortune type , instead of spray and pray to your head collapses... I would be quite happy.

I've heard it has the overhead airstrike just sort of like Battlefield 2 and has the standard M4A1 colt type of gun, but for me to really be blown away with this they should implement more vehicles! =)

Oh well I'll join the club in December, till then.. I'll wait.

This game THANK GOD I DID NOT GET IT YET! The reason being because I would miss too much school for playing this. Also this game sold like what 410 million yesterday? Ummmm wtf? I will get it for christmas but I hope I dont see on the NEWS that "Mommy Im gonna kill myself if you take MW2 away" etc etc.... Srsly this game is gonna kill alot of lives!

Well due to having a fried graphics card (main reason ive not been around much) I've held off purchasing MW II for now until I get my pc up and fully running again, at the same time I'm actually seeing it as a blessing in disguise at it helps me dodge the hype train and hopefully things will have settled a bit when i finally pick up a copy.

I know this topic has been replied to in a while, but I just got Xbox Live back again and have been playing it lately since last week.

Anyone else been gaming on this lately? I know me and Fields have been killing some Team Deathmatch recently and I think I've gotten up to a 45 Major in a week. Yeah, that's what Christmas break has done for me. haha

I play but special ops only for now. My brother hogs the online so I dont play much and Im only a 1 but Im gonna start ranking up soon :D Its an awesome game though Ill give you that xD

The Spec Ops are amazing. I ran through a good chunk of them with a buddy of mine when it came out, but some of those missions, especially on Echo toward the end, are ridiculously challenging on Veteran difficulty going for the 3 Stars.

It does provide an escape from the usual "campaign and multiplayer" jazz that most games throw out there though. I have to say that Spec Ops is probably my favorite part of the game overall though. Heck, I jumped into that before I used any of the other features in the game.

Well in a few days or so ill start playing online cause rank 1 does not look good next to my tag xD. So im gonna start it off slow and slowly progress through the ranks soon. If anyone I know wants to play cool ^_^ Playing Bayonetta atm xD

Online is pretty epic :ryan: I don't think the overall storyline is as good as Modern Warfare though, I like the new features and the overall feel of the fighting but some of the missions just feel like you're doing them for the sake of it. I like the way online is generally set out though with the names you can earn and such like.

That Rust map is a bastard though, I hate the maps that are so small you basically throw a grenade and half their team are gone. It's like one of the maps in Modern Warfare where you ended up with about 90 kills and 90 deaths within 5 minutes >.> I got caught out since it was the first time I'd been online so I didn't know what the maps were like, never again >.>

I did manage to get the best K/D ration and score on my team though, and 3rd overall on my first ever match. Not bad going for a n00b. :monster:

Online in MW2, is much easier than the online version of World At War. I have no idea why...but my K/D ratio on WAW was 1.04 or something, and on MW2 it's 2.42. xD
Either way it's a great game...although they need to add Hardcore Free For All.

I remember my first match on this game was Free For All, and I came 3rd. Then as soon as I unlocked Stopping Power, it was far more easy. Sleight Of Hand, Stopping Power and Steady Aim.

Hit me up bud, I'm not much of a good player yet since this is my first Call of Duty (aside from PC). I've got quite a few people showing me the ropes though.. I guess my main thing is to reach that first prestige.

I really like this game, the Spec Ops mode is a really good idea, and I have to say I prefer it to endless waves of zombies, the campaign was fairly decent, although once you've played CoD:MW the story can't really change for any modern game, but some of the missions were quite enjoyable, and I liked the reappearence of some old characters.
Online is great as always, just a shame im pretty awful at it. Rank 29 FTW!

MW2 is definitely an epic game. It's totally badass XD though, im not all that good I still enjoy playing the game. My brother would constantly be on my arse telling me what ta do like I know "aim shoot fire and dead"
that simple of course theres a lot more to it xD At first I did online still do which btw is awesome! Players that I meet are like "are you really a girl?" when I think my name says it all-- do you really have to question that? Think its quite funny- guess not much girls play MW2 but girl power! xD I do special Ops with my bro mainly because he thinks I cant do it on my own -__- which I guess is true. Before I played online I played myself and my bro was like " your gonna be the girl everyone hates cus you never take cover--then you end up dying and you can't aim for shit which means no kills." But i'm better mind you now :griin: level like 15?? xD
fantastic game I love it :)

Im a level 38-39, im amazing at free for all, but absolutely terrible at everything else, i guess its just that i work better alone
