Banned Super Bowl Commercials

The PETA one. :ffs:

Seriously, I don't know any vegetarians or vegans who actually like PETA and it's easy to see why. If this is what they spend their money on, they seriously need to rethink their priorities.

The majority of the commercials (besides the PETA one) don't seem all that controversial to me. Unfunny, yes. Controversial, no.

The Lola one made me giggle though.

You know...as much as I hate Peta, that vegetarian + sex commercial was pretty funny  It's true the best way to get people interested in a product/lifestyle is to advertise it as sexually beneficial, and so I'll admit they do have the right idea there; however I doubt most people would have taken this one seriously because it is a little over the top. Maybe a little more subtletly next time :hmmm:

Also, the Cut the Cheese--WTF? Nothing wrong with this one :andry:

And the Bud Light Biting Dog--Honestly, all they had to do was have the dog bite somewhere else and they could've used it :hmmm:

It is kind of irritating though that they're still so cautious about putting commercials on that feature gay people--that's still quite backwards and biased of them imho. If TV caters to making the audience "feel comfortable," then they should take off all the soccer moms and meat commercials, because I don't like those things and they offend me :mokken: /writes a nasty letter

Also, even though I can understand the channel trying not to air any religious ones, I've seen plenty of religious commercials on TV in the past, so it's kind of weird that they would randomly ban these two :hmmm:

And some of these were enlightening too--I didn't know there was a website out there that encouraged and helped people to have affairs 8( WTF is wrong with people? Take that shit down :rage: I mean if both sides are comfortable with bringing more people into the relationship then there's no problem, but this sounds like it caters more to the underhanded, mean kind that only benefits the one side :mokken: Bannnnnn'd. /rant

I was a bit surprised at that one as well. I didn't realize there was actually a dating site specifically for someone that wanted to have an affair. As if they can't use a regular dating site for that anyway.

If people are going to have an affair and be discreet about it, a website seems like a bad place to go.

I'm not encouraging anyone to go out and have an affair, I just think the entire premise of the website is stupid.

Is that what that commercial was about? I totally missed that and was really confused. I thought it just boiled down to some chick taking off her clothes and was advertising stripping.

Seeing as how it's a news thread, I figured I'd move it to Midgar.
I didn't really see banned commercials as news but.... ehh

And I have to admit... a site for affairs... its very... :sneaky: .. who woulda thought it.... I think the Jesus hating Obama one was funny in a completely "yeah right i would love for you to prove that" way.

The only one that amused me was the Snickers one.

"Quick, do something manly."

*rips out chest hair*

XD

Nyeh I don't get America's sense of humour sometimes.

The movies and T.V. shows are good, but the T.V. ads are always crap it seems. =/

The Obama Jesus one wasn't even funny. I am sick of seeing them using Jesus that way all the time.

It's not funny and I am sick of the whole Obama thing. GET THE FUCK OVER IT!

I liked the Snickers one too. It was unexpected, and then even more unexpected, and they went right into like the perfect kiss.

The rest, I snubbed my pretentious little nose at.

(not really. I just didn't like them.)
