Hey guys,

Stupid question but I just started playing FFXII and I was wondering when in the game does Ashe join your party? Shes my favourite character in FFXII so can someone tell me at what point she joins your party?

Thanks in advance.

You first meet her halfway through the Garamsythe Waterway (sp?) not too far into the game and she joins your party then temporarily. She then permanently rejoins the party halfway through the Dreadnought Leviathan slightly later if I recall correctly.

It's after getting Basch into your party. You'll go back to Rabanastre and into the waterways for a mission. You'll get her there. And props for liking Ashe.

She's your favorite character yet you don't know when she joins your party? :lew:

Well, she joins as a guest in the Garamsythe waterway but she doesn't join permanently until you rescue her from the Leviathan.

Woah speedy responses. Thanks for the info, man that tripped me out cause I was like Amalia looks like Ashe so whys the name diff? Alright I get it and I'm JUST at the point of about getting her. I'm at the point where you come back to rabanastre but i'm doing some plvling so I'll get her after :D Thanks alot and yeah Nephry haha I saw some YouTube videos before I bought the game and shes the coolest out of them all :p

Just finished plvling and did dreadnought leviathan and got ashe to join the party, now how do i play as her? :p I want her to be my main character instead of playing as Vaan. I see it in videos all the time that people play as her but how do you change that? I tried making her only person in party even and it didnt work :S

Go to menu and select party then use the right directional buttons to move your characters to the right of your current party. Then go to Ashe and push the left directional button and she'll be party leader, then choose two more members then Ashe leads the party :D

EDIT: Only way to know if Ashe is party leader is find a red flag on the lower right corner of her picture. :)

If your going through Leviathon then you want to use all three girls and use there mist abillitys against ghist was it?

Thats how I did it. I kept on stacking loads of the stuff till I got a strong Inferno.
But for your first Esper battle(Summon) that would be best if Baltazaar or Ashe learns the summon. But if you have trouble evn with the fight then do the stack thing again and hopefully torrents would appear (Water based)

I she's currently a guest where you're at, assuming you're still in the waterways, maybe that's why. She'll soon be a full member and you can do whatever you want with her like the rest of the other characters.

When you're in regular walking around, press the up directional button and you can switch your leader more easily.

to be honest i hated her when i first met her in the waterway.. i only started to like her after i started FF xii RW.

ashe is my first 3 characters...LOL

she quite good in magic...i use her as my priest....

penelo my black mage...n vaan as my warrior n thief...

AND.....YESS.....SHE IS CUTE...XD XD XD

She fakes her name when you meet her through the waterways so I can understand why some people did not like her. As for me, I always liked her.. even at first and I think she is a character with a strong destiny. At first when you see her get married in the beginning and all you just know she is going to be an interesting Princess. Faking her name was the right way to go but then when the party finds out she is the Princess I just found her character more interesting. Some people might think she is just a Princess in a skirt but they are wrong. :mokken:

MOD EDIT: Sorry, but could you please put a little more into your post? This is a post count thread, and just posting two words to agree with someone could be classified as spam and against the forum rules for a post-count section. Thanks! =)

I highly doubt that her decision to wear a pseudonym at the beginning was the reason why she garners considerable hate. I'm not one of them, but I believe it's somewhere on the lines of the entire quest revolving around Ashe, this seemingly bitchy woman all in the name of restoring her kingdom and for a length of time, swear vengeance against the very empire that has taken everything from her.

What I like about Ashe as you've probably indicated, is that she's no ordinary kind of princess. The tragic fact that war and betrayal have taken away everything she has held dear including Rasler is a testament of the realities of war. She's a victim of this and I found plenty of reasons to sympathise with her, to strongly counter whatever faults she has. Character-wise, she is a rather strong woman. She isn't a typical demure character and in contrast she has a clear goal and pursues it fiercely. Her leadership skills are much to commend for and unlike the game's supposed main protagonist Vaan, Ashe honestly does feel like the party's true leader and with Ashe around, it has a direction for she very rarely strays, if at all. And contrary to what many may perceive - Ashe is just cold and distant all the way through - I kind of have to contest this because by the end I have found that she has mellowed considerably, particularly towards her friends, and the development felt believable as well.

But anyway, this is starting to sound just like this thread now, so I should stop, considering we are technically straying from the specific topic that the OP asked.

Since the original question has been answered and the thread is starting to stray from the original topic, I'm going to close this.
