XBox Are you an achievement whore?

Not really.. Since i never bothered about XBox Live, I didn't bother much about Achievements. Though, apparently, I sometimes achieve some stuff, but i do not pay much heed to it.

Ummm Mesmerina incase you have not noticed but this is the xbox 360 achievements to Final Fantasy. Were talking about achievements in xbox 360 games.

Thank you for helping out out newer members. Though, in future we would prefer it if you left it to staff.

i deffently am one cuz i try really hard to get them and i wont stop till i get them. if i user mod just yell at me cuz i'm so used to being a mod i correct people with out thinking just thought i'd let you know

Hmm, not really. I try to complete everything within a game, but sometimes I just want to finish it to see how the story ends, or something like that.

That said, I do sometimes let out a little "woo hoo" when I get one.:P

I can be somewhat of a whore. I try my hardest to get the most achievements I can get in all my games but, if an achievement is pretty much impossible unless I play for hours on end then I will not go for it. I just love having all of the achievements unlocked for 1 game. It really shows I did everything possible.

Oh for rpg games I want all the achievements all the time! Tales of Vesperia for example I finished it but want all the achievements. FFxiii will be my biggest achievement game though.

It depends entirely what the achievement is for me. For example, most of the achievements on Left 4 Dead are all quite do-able and are fun to get (kill a Witch in a single shot, kill 100 zombies by incineration, vomit on all survivors in multiplayer etc.), and the same goes for Gears of War 2 (Seriously 2.0 is going to take forever, but I'd love to say that I got it done >>).
On the other hand, things like finding all the collectibles in Gears 2 just doesn't appeal all that much to me because it means going through the story over and over and over again to find them all, unless you use a guide.

I don't really see the point in getting achievements when completing them is integral to the storyline, such as killing a Berserker on Gears of War.

Im not really a achievement whore at all. The only 2 games I really cared about getting achievements on are Fallout 3 and Call of Duty. Those are my favorites. Mile High Club on veteran :gasp: . I will probably whore Resident evil 5 achievements when it comes out.

Not really. If I look at the achievements and think "Oh I can get that!" then I will. Usually achievements like online I don't bother. I play online games but I don't go out of my way to try and get achievements. Some games like The Darkness have online achievements yet no one plays the game online. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare I became a bit of an achievement whore. The reason being is that I looked at the achievements and you did not get any for completing levels on like normal difficulty. They were all veteran difficulty (except for completing the game which you get both for veteran and all difficulty). I never played it before so I just went straight into veteran. I haven't completed it on veteran yet but I am at the last level in the war room or something. Fucking killer that is!

Also I have started Lost Odyssey. I have all ready got the achievements for completing discs 1, 2, and 3 from my previous play through but I never properly trained abilities, get spells, etc so I started again and I am getting all the items (Treasure Trove achievements), learning all skills (Skill master achievement - I've got the Jansen one). I got the 1,000,000 damage and 1000 enemies defeated achivements. I'm almost on disc 4 and I will probably attempt some optional bosses for more achievements.

Hmm, yea Im definately an achievement whore, I love that little sound when they pop up, I love high numbers.... Yea i love achievements. I wont play a stupid game or game i wouldnt normally play for achievements though (Like Avatar lol)

I wouldn't say I was an acheivement whore just yet, but since I got Resident Evil 5 I have to admit I may well be on the way to becoming one.

I spent over an hour trying to kill 30 zombies with a stun rod for the sake of 15 gamer points.

Perhaps it's just the fact that im really enjoying this game, though I am getting the urge to go back to previous games and see what other obscure tasks I can put myself through.

Im not too bad on the need to gather achievement front, just yet but im getting there....started slowly becoming more of an achievement whore, I'm even tempted to re-hook my 360 up to live (stopped doing it since I prefer pc games, but the more games are becoming console exclusive the more im leaning to console games) given time i reckon ill be one of the many achievement hunting whores soon enough :P

I am now. xD Well, trying to get there anyway. I've missed a few already for TR: Anniversary. I have about 7 for Tales of Vesperia...

And I finally got one achievement from Last Remnant (Timing is Everything).

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother...but then again I only started caring ever since I joined XBox Live Gold Membership, which was last night. =]

yup, i am. I would even purposely redo a section over and over again just for it. That includes killing the same guy over and over and over and over.....

i think my sig at teh bottom realy says it all, i have stopped now as i am currently not playing on me xbox or me PS3, my friend messaged me the other day, as he just reached 100k through boosting.

No. Just the opposite. Achievements are useless IMO, and many games give you them for doing practically nothing.

Heck, every time you finish a disc in Lost Odyssey you get an achievement. It's like they wanted you to feel special because-GASP!! You get to put in a shiny new disc!!! >_>

If I were to get an achievement, I'd want it to be for something significant, not "Achievement unlocked: Learned to rotate the camera!".

I don't really think they're meant to be of any use, it's more just to make you feel good about getting them I suppose, and considering XLive is huge, it's probably good competition between people on your friends list, other than that it just gives you something to do (getting achievements) and gets more out of the game and actually "Completing" rather than just finishing the main storyline.

Also Mits, the longer you go on XLive, the more you'll become addicted to achievements and online play. :awesome:

haha yes... I'ma whore... I'ma dirty dirty whore. I'll rent games and get about 300 points in 2 nights and such... my score is like 10500 or somethin like that? I'm not really sure. Sometimes I have achievement days though were all I do is sit down the entire day and play games to get achievements. I'll just do specific things to get them, not play the game for fun, but I'll play certain missions or levels until I do what the achievement entitles.... I'ma whore
