Am i the only one

I usually don't do them on my first playthrough, but i then try to do them all.
E.G. I beat Ozma on my second playthrough of IX, and Tantarian at my 5th. I also did all the missions in 7CC in my New Game+

Depends on what game it is. Some I won't anyway, like FFVII with the Chocobo quest, FFVIII with the Chocobo game also, and FFX with fully doing the Celestial Weapons sidequest, simply because theyre all so tedious! I want to do all of XII's though, as I love that game an awful lot!

I never bother on my first playthrough, Im just story driven and impatient to find out what happens. Second time thorough Il try to 100% it to the best of my abilities. Still ahevn't done Penance on FFX yet...... and Im currently on my second play through of XII where Ima try to beat everything, athough I highly doubt Il manage it....

On my first play through, I'll do the story, finish it, see the ending then have a more indepth exploration of the world and look for things like optional bosses etc.

On my second play through I'll do the things that I found out I missed on the first when they become available, and go for the max out, EVERYTHING 100% done.

In saying that, in FFXII I still haven't gotten Chaos, because the quest for the amulet things to open the doors in Nabudis just bored the hell out of me, so didn't bother finishing it.

Well sidequests are not really important to me but I do them alot on the 2nd playthrough. Sidequests are sometimes fun so I do some on my first file and all on my 2nd file. Also a good point that I do this in everygame except some like The tales series where I just do them all at once.

Lol, I'm completely the opposite. I try to do every sidequest on my first playthrough. So far I've managed to complete every FF 100% from FFVI through FFXII. I've beaten all the optional bosses, gotten all the ultimate weapons, etc. I'm just obsessive like that, lol.

I actually took my time and found all the optional bosses and played the sidequests from FF7-FFX-2. Love doing them and it's a way of me trying not to beat the game right away. I didn't really bother with FFXII even though I had the guide with me. I guess it just didn't interest me as much. But it's nothing against FFXII, don't get me wrong. I didn't even bother with FFIV's (DS) sidequests either, although I did manage to take my time and beat some of the optional summons. Seems like I'm slowly losing interest to taking my sweet little time with games and hastely playing instead to beat it as soon as possible.

I tend to avoid them on first playthrough of a game 'cause I'm more interested in what the characters and story is. If I happen to stumble upon a side quest, then I usually pursue it, but I don't really play new games with foreknowledge on them.

Subsequent playthroughs, yeah, usually I'll do the side quests ^^

Although there are some that piss me off after too many tries or I some I just won't even attempt >__<

I don't bother either, except if I really wanna kick their butt ot anything like that.I just haven't managed to beat Ruby and Emerland in FFVII.It's not such a big deal in my opinion.Of course there are others who cannot bear the thought of not completing everything.I've had the same with an other RPG game.

Believe me your not alone here. The only side quests I do involve obtaining an ultimate weapon, however I don't bother trying to get them if I think it will take too long. I never try to fight optional bosses, I couldn't care less if I beat them or not. I will usually try to obtain optional summons though.

I did enjoy doing hunts in XII and getting the Zodiac Spear but I didn't bother finishing the hunts.

The only other optional boss I took on is Angra Mainyu from X-2 because he made it personal by wasting over an hour of my life only to kill me in the end. So I went and got Cat-Nip and beat the living shit out of him.

You're definitely not the only one.... I myself wouldn't bother to do them unless I really get bored of the game.. Or merely chance upon it (And decide I feel like doing it..)

Perhaps, the only side-quests i feel obliged to do would be getting the best weapons for the characters...

I agree to an extent. However sometimes I like to take on the optional bosses as an easy way to test the real skill of my party since they tent to be harder than the normal ones.

Yea first time round i never bother at all with the sidequests, i much prefer to just blitz on with the storyline. On other playthroughs i always do sidequests, its fun discovering new parts to the game.

I usually try to do as much as I can or can be bothered to do on the first run through. I like to take my time on the first go; although, I'm usually dying to get to the next cutscene or find out the next important part of the story. But I want to revel in the joy of playing the game for the first time and I think sub-consciously never want it to end, lol. It usually takes me a long time to play a FF for the second time, otherwise I would get bored with the already known storyline.

But I don't usually do everything 100%, some of the sidequests are a pain in the butt or are really boring. I lose interest quickly and want to explore somewhere else. Therefore FF X-2 bugged the hell out of me when are expected to do it all 100%, I want the good ending dammit!

Your not alone. I also don't care about beating optional bosses. I only fight them if I'm bored. Emerald Weapon from FF7 gave me a very hard beating and so, I didn't give a damn. I also gave up beating Zodiark from FF12 after frustrating me several times.

I haven't been doing all of the extra stuff my first time through, but I would like to replay FF6 and get more stuff done. I found all the playable characters except the temporary ghost on the Phantom Train, I think. I didn't get all the espers or anything...

I don't think I'll do everything though. I don't like Gau much, and getting 256 or however many Rages seems to me to be an exercise in tedium, especially if I rarely or never use them.

I run through it the first time usually beating the games at level 40 something, and then play through again and get 100%

I don't really care to, but some games I just feel like raping. :D

Definitely in the first play through, all I care about is the storyline and plot. The characters. Second run through usually comes when I haven't played it in awhile, and then I try out some of the extras.

Sometimes I do and sometimes I dont. When I first get the game I usually do, but then I just cant be bothered.
