It was a time without Light of Darkness; day or night.

This is the story of the creators of ancient times.

Mystria, the God of Wisdom
The Goddess Varna

Mercury, the Guardian God
Mobius, the god of Time and Space

Arumana, the God of Mercy
Dialos, the God of Harmony

Deeth, the Goddess of Fate
Lenion, the Highest God

Julius, the God of Song
Nemesis, the Star God

Mayastia, the God of War
Chaos, the Lord of the Darkest Night

They were twelve gods, created from one body.
These twelve gods were to be the crucible of the universe.
They would be the twelve seeds of a new world; Agarest.

A perfect world, shaped by the gods into a paradise that reflected their divine nature.
But it was not to be...

A war of darkness and light split the cosmos...
...and an imperfect world came into being.

From this imbalance, a dark, malevolent force was born.
It worshipped and desired the darkness, and created monsters, creatures who wished only to become one with the darkness.

The war brought chaos to this new world.
The gods brought their true strength to bear...
...and the war that had split the world came to an end as they fell silent, hoping to save the world from destruction.
But not Summerill, the Lord of Darkness...

The Dark Lord called to him corrupted creatures known as the gurgs...
...As well as monsters born of vicious and evil desires, known as the forces of darkness.

Summerill's evil woke the gods of light from their slumber, and they awoke with righteous fury, War once again fell upon the world, as light clashed with darkness.

Three times Summerill was defeated, but always he returned. Many of the races of the world were destroyed by the war.
Eventually the power released by the gods was too much... and the world itself was torn asunder.

As the world crumbled, the six gods who had survived bowed their heads, and mourned the lives lost to darkness and war for seven days and nights, their tears falling like rain.

With their tears, life returned to the world, and in a final act of sacrifice, the six gods gave their lives to return the lost races to the world. Agarest lived anew.

With the death of the gods, the age of myth was at an end.
Thousands upon thousands of years passed, and in time, the gods themselves were forgotten.

Agarest was bathed in light, with darkness given domain only during the hours of night, when most of the creatures of the world were asleep.
But now, the darkness spreads once more...

It's icy tendrils stretch across the world ignorant of their power and may soon cover it once again...

The World of Agarest

Lucrellia
The continent of Generation 1, currently locked in Gridamas' expansion, which generally involves invading the Frontier, killing all the Elves and Syrium they can find along the way, as such, several races and even some humans are beginning to rise in hatred of Gridamas, leading to the continent being on the brink of a Civil War, being led by oppressed Syriums.

Races

Humans
Humans in Agarest seem to be the dominant race on most of the continents. They are the most diverse race in Agarest, with many different shapes and colors. They comprise most of the ruling class within the kingdoms on each of the continents. Humans seem to have the shortest life span of all the races in Agarest; with Winfield being an exception as he has been made immortal by the Bracelet of the Covenant.

High Elves
High Elves are the oldest and most powerful members of the Elven races. They are the most tuned to nature and have great magical abilities. Their ears are a lot shorter than those of other Elves. They have the ability to summon Larvae as guardians and protectors. However, this species of elves is dying out, with Ellis being the only High Elf in all of Lucrellia. Of all the Elf species they are they most respected because of their beauty and ability, with some being made leaders of Elfville.

Larva
Larvae are a group of creatures from another world. According to Dyshana, they are closer to being gods. High elves with high magical powers have the ability to summon these creatures as guardians and protectors. Summoned Larvae are very loyal to those that summoned them and are generally strong with great combat experience. Larvae take no particular form. They may possess a beast/wolf-like body like Borgnine, or one of a crab-like nature.

Oneltes
Onetles are a race of beings that look very similar to humans except that they have a third eye in their forehead; a triclops race, in other words. According to Vira-Lorr's profile, this race tries to hide their third eye to blend in with humans and hide from persecution. Vira-Lorr is an exception to this. She is a maverick who allows her eye to be seen. While Vira-Lorr's has the ability of foresight, it is unknown if all the race has similar powers. This race seems to be the rarest in Agarest, with Vira-Lorr being the only one seen or mentioned in the entire game. It is unknown what their abilities are or how in tuned with magic they are because of this.

Syrium
Syrium are a subspecies of Elves. They all have light grey skin, blueish grey hair and blue eyes. Unlike High Elves, Syriums seem to be the most populous of the race, with three of them being party members and one being a love interest in the first generation. In terms of abilities, they are more varied than High Elves and have greater speed. Zerva is a mage, Fyuria is a rogue and Sharona, a dancer. But each still has at least one magical ability, such as Dark Mist and Ascension.

Goblins
Creatures of darkness. Usually found in small bands or tribes, they rarely cooperate with their own or other dark creatures. Includes Goblins, Hobgoblins, Goblin Mages, and Goblin Kings.

Orcs
Larger and more dangerous than Goblins, though fewer in numbers. They may have great physical strength, but they do lack intelligence. Orcs, Bull Orcs, Orc Mages, and Orc Lords are some of the types of Orcs found in Agarest.

Garvel
These seldom seen creatures have the strength and intelligence to force lesser dark creatures to do their bidding.

Gurgs
Larvae that have been corrupted by Summerill. Mindless puppets forced to do Summerill's bidding. As explained in Generation 3 by Mervis in the Elven City.

Beastmen
Half-human, half-animal creatures who possess much more animalistic features than the race of Neocoloms. Example are the Werecat or Cat Lady who has catlike features but a human shape or the Lycanthrope and Werewolf. They seem to take on a lot of their animal natures and to be incapable of human speech, merely uttering "meows" or "nya". Like the Neocoloms, they are a very fast race or creatures.

Racial Skill

Name: Leonhardt
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Spirit Vessel
Class: Warrior

Personality: A serious yet also fun person to be around, he is naturally protective of the weak and will willingly give his life to protect them. Both a skilled sword weilder and a combat genius, he has earned respect in battle for his constant presence on the front lines. He harbours a hidden vengeance towards Braham and House Klavis, who brought his house down in his father's day but chooses not to entertain it, as his father told him in his will it would cause uproar in the country.

Appearance: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/_.../8/80/CG_Leonhardt.jpg/400px-CG_Leonhardt.jpg

Weapon: Golden Sword
Skill: Double Edge, Sonic Wave, Power Attack
Signature Attacks: Howling Blade: A powerful rush forward with his sword, flame envelops all foes he charges past

Backstory: An impoverished aristocrat who currently serves as an assistant official of the Gridamas Frontier garrison. He’s called Leo by his friends and is also known as ‘Golden Leo’ because of the way he fights with his golden sword in battle.

He’s the leader of the 11th Regiment, who fights at the front line at all times and gains respect from soldiers for this reason. However, he’s not favoured by the aristocrats who lead other garrisons. His status of being an impoverished aristocrat undermines his relationship with them, and that’s why he’s constantly delegated the most dangerous missions. The reason he became an impoverished aristocrat was due to the dark plot of Braham and House Klavis; known by many people including Leonhardt. He follows his father’s will not to pursue revenge because that will cause uproar in the country, and instead dutifully accepts the stigma attached to his name.

He aims to become distinguished on the battlefield so he can rebuild his House, but he begins to question the purpose of battle. The only things his vision as a warrior, and a human being, could see was unilateral destruction and massacre. This devastating sight made him discard his path of knighthood and the order of his country to save an elf girl. Unfortunately, he suffers fatal injuries in the battle against Melchior and his ally, the Dark Knight. With his last gasp, he makes a vow to Dyshana to be the Spirit Vessel, which carries through to later generations. It’s a contract of spirit that can’t be avoided. Leonhardt gains extraordinary power from it, and this power saves Ellis… and later ends the war in Lucrellia.

I promised...well not so much promised, as is interested in this RP, I'll start my bio now:
Original Character

Name: Marcellin

Age: 144

Gender: Male

Race: Syrium

Class: Rogue

Personality: Marcellin is an idealist, hoping that both Humans, Syriums, and other races can live together in harmony. He is always focused on the task on hand. While Marcellin can take a joke and can be quite the Casanova at times, he does sometimes criticize people for doing things that are practically stupid.

Nonetheless, he is a very friendly guy who would help anyone that wants help, despite not being entirely selfless.

Appearance: Marcellin's appearance is as typical of the people of his race. he has light grey skin, rounded blue eyes and short and unruly blueish grey hair as well as pointed ears.

In terms of attire, Marcellin wears a embroidered navy blue vest under a light blue longcoat. His trousers are also light blue in color and made of leather, and he wears black boots.

Weapon: Daggers (2 Iron Daggers)
(Can also carry Knuckles)

Skill:
(Wind) Wind: Sends a single blade of wind into an opponent

(Combo) Rush Combo: A 3-hit hand-to-hand combo with the third hit being a roundhouse kick.

(Combo) Blast: Uppercuts the opponent before sending two energy attacks.

Signature Attacks:
Raven's Fury: A powerful and potentially lethal 3-hit combo
Hit 1: Punch to the Gut
Hit 2: Knee to the Head
Hit 3: Stabbing the Top of the Head with the Dagger or a Powerful Right Hook to the Jaw.

Backstory:
Marcellin was one of the volunteers called up by Zerva to fight the Grimdama's army at Zelzagun Fortress. Though he holds no animosity towards the humans despite his race being persecuted, nonetheless he is unwilling to let the Grimdama have their way with their home. While he is more trusting of Leonhardt than the other people of his race, Marcellin is still suspicious of him.

I better reserve my choice characters before I lose my opportunity. Please reserve for me Fyuria! FYURIA!!!!

LOOOOOOOOOL. Okay. I'll edit this post directly now to put up the character bio.

@DIT!

Though, I'm a little concerned since I never played this game before, and haven't actually done so until now. Will the story follow the main plot - and so I should know the original story well? Or is it possible for me to stay clueless about the story and still role play well enough?

... In any case, I guess I must have changed the personality of the original character somewhat. But oh well.

Ah, found the complete walkthrough on YouTube. Here goes. I'll check it all up first before I continues this character bio.

@DIT 2:

NO! ME IS TOO IMPATIENT. Anyway, her personality develops as the story progresses, so well, here goes. Done. I'll just go look through the walkthrough nevertheless to know more.

Canon-

Name-
Fyuria

Age-
86

Gender-
Female

Race-
Syrium

Class-
Rouge

Personality-
Fyuria often gives the impression of being cold and aloof, but she's actually pretending to be strong, trying to support herself. She harbors a rather intense hatred against the humans, and can get rather acerbic when dealing with humans.

Appearance-
Fyuria

Weapon-
Dagger: Brave Hunter

Skill-

Astral Gust : Wind
A magic spell that vibrates the air to form a strong gust of wind that hinders movement greatly for the target.

Flurry : Dagger Technique
Fyuria unleashes a series of strikes and slashes in quick succession that are difficult to dodge, but does little damage. This attacks aims to create many wounds to bleed the enemy to death.

Death's Wake : Dagger Technique
By using her naturally agile nature, Fyuria rushes at the enemy in stealth to deliver potentially fatal hurt to the enemy, or at least take the enemy by surprise. This skill only works if Fyuria successfully approaches the enemy without getting noticed.

Signature Attacks-
Dazzle Blade : Light
A sword technique that surrounds a target with a dazzling light while slashing the target quickly. It either causes a critical hit or instant death at a certain rate.

Backstory-
One of the three women chosen by Dyshana in the first generation. Fyuria is Zerva's sister. She used to live in Hovos, which is now Zelzagun Fort. After the loss of her parents and friends during the Gridamas's invasion of Hovos, Fyuria swears revenge and fights against them with Zerva and the other survivors. However, they lose the fight, and she becomes separated from her brother. She tries to hide in Mimas, but encounters Gridamas's troops when Leonhardt saves her life. Fyuria dislikes Leonhardt at first because she holds all humans responsible for the persecution of her people, but she gradually opens up to him as she witnesses him risk his life to help those in need.

Hm.. elaine seems like my type of character. ill shotgun her. Ill try and have something up soon.

Alright, i'll reserve Elaine for ye :ryan:

Also Rasmorya, Fyuria is only 'Raglan' if she gets chosen for the Soul Breed, ordinarily she bears no last name, to my knowledge :hmmm:

Also, you got skills confused, the first 3 are her signature attacks, of which you can only have Dazzle Blade :gasp:

Skills are either the stuff I mentioned in the first post or alternatively, stuff you make up yourself :monster: as long as they follow the elemental properties of the character you're going for :gasp:

Sort that out though and Fyuria is all yours :ryan: and if you have any questions about Fyuria herself or the story in regards to her, just send me a PM and i'll help :wacky:

Also Kevin, your guy is fine :monster:

Just a key note for all the people taking canon characters, keep in mind in some cases you won't encounter the main party for a while, in particular in case of Luana and Elaine.

However, while you won't encounter them you do still have some things you are able to do before you meet up with them. For instance, in case of Elaine while she is still an Advisor of Gridamas, she tries to discourage war as much as she can, before inevitably joining up with Leonhardt, when an officer helps her to escape to do so, whom will be mentioned nearer the time :mokken:

And also, once Ellis and Borgnine are taken, i'll start up the RP, then just needs Vira-Lorr and Zerva taken and for a good bit of the start we'll be fine to continue unimpeded.

And for any side characters (for instance, at the beginning Kasibal and Melchior) once met and everything in their profiles has been seen in the RP, i'll add their profiles to the first page, so you get a better idea of them if you encounter them :hmmm:

And... That should be everything :hmmm:

Done some edits to Fyuria. Removed the last name, and made some major changes to the Skills.

By the way, will we be strictly following the story line of the original game?

Ah, looks good now :ryan:

And it won't be a strict word-for-word thing with the story, only really major events will be followed as they happen :hmmm: so you don't need to follow every little thing a/your character says and does.

I've never heard of Agarest before, but that's never stopped me from joining in on an interesting-looking rp. here's my character, let me know if any changes need to be made.

Canon/Original: Original
Name:Camio Rasava
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Race: Beastman (wolf)
Class: Warrior
Personality: Camio is calm and collected. He speaks no words, but his actions do that job for him. He is faithful and loyal to any and all friends. He is an honorable warrior towards those who show honor, but shows no mercy to those to try to win through underhanded means.

He spends most of his time in meditation. He is a warrior with a strong sense of inner peace as well as a strong sense of duty to the planet. He seeks to help end war and needless, nonsensical bloodshed which is an affront to the spirits of nature. He shows no mercy to those who willingly defile the natural balance.

Appearance:
441are2.jpg

Weapon: Soul Sunder (Greatsword)

Skills:

Healing Winds (Light) - calling upon the spirits of nature, the spell mends injured flesh and bone.

Vacuum Wave (Sword technique) - Unleashing a powerful and speedy slash of his blade, the attack releases a vacuum wave capable of cutting a victim, yet causing no external bleeding (ala Kenshin)

Wind Shield (Wind) - The spirits of the wind create a violent shield of chaotic wind to deflect projectiles and can also break apart fire-based attack spells.

The Nine Fangs (Sword technique) - Camio charges forward and, with incredible speed, strikes with the point of his sword at the nine pressure points of a human/elf/etc body (Once again, ala Kenshin)

Signature Attacks: Fangs of Gaia - Calling upon the power of nature, Camio lashes out with his sword at unprecedented speeds. Each slash sends a cutting wave of each element type at one foe. That foe becomes trapped within a sphere of elemental rings. Camio finishes by rushing at top speed at the opponent and slashing the sphere, causing an explosion that deals non-elemental damage to the foe.

Backstory: Camio lived his life in the wilderness, raised by an outcast warrior and an elven woman. They were always on the move, but always remained in the forests. Nothing was known of his real parents or why he came to be found alone in the woods as a pup.

While he could never speak human or elven tongue, he learned how to read and often studied into the myths of the old gods, most specifically interested in Mystria, Dialos and Mercury.

But his adopted parents couldn't run forever. Eventually a small group of human mercs found their camp and slaughtered the two, beheading them to claim the bounties. When Camio came back to the camp with a bucket of water intended for the stew, he found his adopted parents slain. The group decided to attack him out of fun and chased him to an ancient cave, one he had never seen before.

Bullets flew at him, one striking him across the left side of his abdomen. As he tried to find some sort of refuge, he came upon an ancient altar dedicated to Mercury. Upon it was a strange sword. Despite how old the shrine was, the blade itself seemed like new; not a spot of rust or wear of time. With the mercs on his tail, Camio gave a small prayer to mercury and picked up the sword. His mind sharpened as he heard the mercs running towards him. Hiding himself into the darkness, the prey became the preditor. One by one, he slew the mercs, using their newly instilled fear to cause panic, even leading two of the mercs to kill each other.

Camio emerged from the cave the only living soul out of all those that entered. However, instead of pursuing revenge further as some would, Camio returned to the camp, buried his adopted parents and began to travel the world, seeking not grudges or revenge, but seeking instead to ensure that what happened to his family would not happen to others.

Well, since I've already expressed interest in this, I guess I should motor on and make a character, huh?

Canon or Original: Original
Name: Thel Rakther
Age: 39
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Class: Blacksmith (Warrior)
Personality: Thel is a patient, caring man who knows full well the impact of war and the joy of parenthood. He tends to get rather misty-eyed over children and is vaguely over-protective of people around the ages of 16-23 (the age of his children).
He dives into combat with a reckless pragmatism, destroying as much resistance as possible with little care for his own safety. He is very unsympathetic to the forces of evil.
Appearance: For a human pushing 40, Thel has kept his youth rather well. His hair was black and his frame was spry in his prime, but the hair now has gray streaks and his frame has gone from wiry and fast to muscular and bulky. His full beard covers most of his face, save his green eyes that twinkle and flare according to his emotion at the time.
Weapon: Thel used to be an expert swordsman, but that was long ago when he was quicker on his feet. Nowadays, he prefers to use his fists, augmented with Brass Knuckles, to knock out the foe.
Skills:
Haymaker (Power - Thel throws his entire weight and power behind a single punch)
Brawl (General - Slip under the opponent's guard and throw a one-two bodyblow)
Come and Get Me! (Power - Thel provokes the opponents, possibly causing them to focus their assaults on him)
Keep Your Guard Up
(Power - No movement next turn, but Thel reduces damage coming to him for the duration of this and next turn.)

Signature Attack: Papa Bear; Thel crash-tackles an opponent and lays into them with multiple attacks, causing great damage.

Backstory: Thel was born into a not-very-memorable village to a peasant family on the frontier of the kingdoms. Knowing very little of nobility and social rank, Thel's family were happy working as the local blacksmith, serving the village in mutual trade with little need for official money.
Thel grew up learning the family trade and, at the age of 17 and with full approval from all parties involved, married his childhood sweetheart Hieb and made his own living as a blacksmith, forging both weapons of war for the guards and rangers that patroled the forest and tools for the farmers and artisans of the village. Two years into his marriage, he was blessed with children - twins, a boy and a girl.

Then the soldiers came, conscripting every able-bodied man to serve a recently-burgeoning war effort. Thel, as a blacksmith and amateur swordsman, was one of those conscripted.
He served as a supply clerk, both making and assigning weapons to the various shipments that were coming and going to the soldiers. It was dull, but it was a great help.
He served for roughly three years before he was compassionately discharged, reasons witheld by his superior. When he returned to his village, he found it in mourning - in mourning over the death of his wife, Heib, killed on the day of his recall by an orc patrol.

The next ten years of his life were spent in parenthood to his twin children, Erdra (the female twin) and Aled (the male twin). Both showed a talent for magic and, when they turned 12, were allowed to travel to the capitol to hone their ability. With war brewing once more in the kingdom of Agarest, Thel has left of his own volition to bring the good fight to the forces of darkness that took his wife from him.

Theme Song: Breath of Fire 2 - On the Honored Day

Extra: On the wikis, there are stat layouts. In general, Thel has this stat breakdown:
STR: A
AGI: E
VIT: S
INT: F
LUK: D
