[27/09] Type-0 gains Ultimate Hits status in Japan

Square Enix’s Ultimate Hits line represents the best-selling titles the company has to offer, and it’s customary for the company to roll out a special priced and labelled edition to celebrate it’s success. Available December 6th in Japan, Final Fantasy Type-0 will run for 2940 yen (roughly $37.90 USD). The game joins newly christened Ultimate Hits tiles Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep -Final Mix- and Sime Mori Mori Dragon Quest 3.


Next month will mark the one-year anniversary for Final Fantasy Type-0; no word yet on the localization’s status.

Um, yay, I guess? I've never seen the point of these things, to be honest: it's just another form of company gratification and a ploy to generate more sales: it sold so much, so give it a shiny new label so people who haven't bought it yet think "Oooh, it's got a shiny new label, so it must be good. I think I'll buy it!" or whatever. Very clever.

It'd be nice if its success in Japan motivated them to localize it, but I imagine the chances of that happening are minimal.
 
I suppose that is a good point...$37.90 is about £23 though, which is what I would expect a cheaper PSP game to cost...but then, most new PSP games cost about £35, and get rounded down to anywhere between £25 to £20, so I suppose it's marginally cheaper. I neither know nor care what the price of Type-0 was in Japan when it was first released; probably something ridiculously expensive. xD
 
I really wish this would get localized... >.> But I guess it's nice to know that the sales were pretty good in Japan. That should be a good incentive for localization, but at this point, who knows what will happen. *sigh*
 
may I add to the story.... Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Birth by Sleep Final Mix is being added as well, same price and same release date ;)

kool I gfuess, but type 0 seriously needs to be released in the us and eu, fans would slobber all over this game :gasp:
 
It usually helps when theyre labeled ultimate hits. For those who dont know which games to buy and you want a good one. The label helps find which ones were the most popular
 
Great. Now bring it to the Western Countries and maybe it can see the same success here.

Just an idea.
 
Well, at least Type-0 is in the news again, now. And if there was any doubt left that SE is still attached to the PSP platform, this should put those fears to rest. Now we just have to hope it's enough to prompt a localized version!
 
Many are hoping for a PSvita version. And im assuming porting disc to cartridge.is harder
