One Final Fantasy Type-0 Student Is Armed With A Sword Whip, Another Has A Flute

Seven, one of the playable characters in Final Fantasy Type-0, gives off an icy first impression, but she’s a big softy. She never says "no" to her friends and takes care of the underclassmen. Seven is armed with a sword whip, which allows her to give the same amount of damage to enemies near and far. Her special ability "catch" grabs and enemy and shocks them for lightning damage.

Jack uses a sword and has high attack power compared to the other character. His ability is "abandon" which sets up a situation where Jack evades an attack and strikes an enemy. Jack is an easy going character, always seen smiling and he moves at his own pace.

Deuce has a gentle personality and carries a kid’s flute in battle. She hits enemies with blasts of sound and can use "concerto" to boost the status of all allies.

Speaking with Dengeki PlayStation, director Hajime Tabata explained the story is not told from one character’s perspective. Following the history of Class Zero is Final Fantasy Type-0 theme and in this sense Class Zero plays the leading role. Rem and Machina are special characters, but Tabata states they are not the hero or heroine of the game.

I added the pictures of the characters as Siliconera did not seem to have any.

...so, no Dragonzord for Deuce? She's a standard-issue Bard?

Minus fifty cool points.

Also, if they could NOT try and pass off Lightning as a different character just by giving her silver hair, that'd be fantastic.

Flute xD damnz I hate chars with wack weapons lmao....the students really look interesting and remind me of Naruto..wish I could play this game and the story is topnotch..I dont mind Japanese clichés cause for me personally it never gets old :griin:

Loads of Final Fantasy Type-0 screens land, are lovely

Since when isn’t a Final Fantasy game not lovely, I ask?

fftype0Shiva.jpg

Posted over on Andriasang are enough Final Fantasy Type-0 shots to, well, we don’t know, make you happy we suppose.
The sets give you a first-look at the Alto Crystarium system, a figure skating Shiva, and more.
A set for classmates show Jack, Seven, and Deuce, from Class Zero; the Concordia Ladies set shows Andoria (on the throne) and Hoshihime or Celestia, both from “the Concordia Kingdom of dragon masters,”; magic types shotgun, rifle, bomb, missile and rocket launcher are shown, as well as the aforementioned Phantoma and Alto Crystarium.
There’s also better shots of Shiva than that grainy one released late last week.
Final Fantasy Type-0 launches on October 13 in Japan for PSP.

i swear 7 looks like lightning :wacky: maybe her first alt costume in dissidia was meant to look like 7 in this.... but i'm being serious 7 looks like lightning :hmph:

...OK, so who else thinks that Andoria looks like a loli version of Yuna, and that it'd make more sense if Celestia and Shiva's designs were swapped around? :martel:

I see Cloud is really taking his female thing to a whole new level, wearing a girl's school uniform, although at least he/she/it is wearing panties...unlike Deuce/Rem (are they the same person? They look exactly alike :gasp:) who is going to have to be wary of strong gusts of wind. If they localise the game, Jack MUST have an Australian accent, as well :jess:

Deuce has a gentle personality and carries a kid’s flute in battle. She hits enemies with blasts of sound and can use "concerto" to boost the status of all allies.
I challenge you to a duel!

Seriously, giving a character a flute as a weapon is probably the most retarded thing I've seen all year. The game itself looks slick enough, but the more information that's released of the game, the worse it seems to get. :megusta:

If that's the most retarded thing you've seen all year, then you've just been paying attention to this.

Bards have been in RPGs for years, not just on Final Fantasy, using weapons such as Lutes and Harps, I don't see what makes this any more note worthy other than the fact of wanting to dig it out.

Anywho, Seven reminds me of a hybrid between Lightning and Ivy from Soul Calibur. I'm wondering if she'll be just as beastly as Ivy with her sword whip. And rofl, Jack's hair. Love it.

Having Deuce buff up the team with err, moosik I can just about accept, but damaging them with moosik sounds hilariously silly. Just play as badly as you can. Not even the toughest of behemoths will be able to stand the sound of Baby being played badly. Deuce could potentially be the most powerful character in the game then, even without the Dragonzord. :mokken:

The silliness aside (oh c'mon, you practically expect this sort of stuff from Japan), this game continues to look miles better than FFXIII-2. If only this can be swiftly localised for the west instead of FFXIII-2. :mokken:

I don't agree that the game looks miles better than FFXIII-2. It's a game designed for a portable after all.
I certainly wouldn't buy a portable game player just to play this game.
They should at some point reconfigure it to play on the PS3. Maybe then I would be interested in it.

Bards have been a normal part of FF for a while so the flute girl doesn't bother me. It's probably going to be a good game.Just out of my interest due to the fact I refuse to buy another portable game player.

It's quite weird to dislike the flute if you are an FF fan:P. I mean, just look at the past ffs record of ridiculous weapons. We have relm who uses sketchbook in vi, cait sith who uses a mike in ffvii, quina who uses a fork in ix, lulu who uses a doll and wakka who uses a ball in x. So why not a flute in type-0? Oh and eiko from ix uses a flute too. It's nothing new in RPGs. Maybe we have just grown out of the childish aspects of these games?

I hope this game gets international release, then I will most likely buy a Psp. I am far more excited about XIII-2 though.

Holy crap, I hadn't seen any recent screens for this game. It looks awesome! I can't wait for this to come to America :lew: I need more PSP games for my collection. And the flute thing really isn't that weird seeing as it's not the first musical instrument to be used as a weapon. But the way it's being used is new (at least to me).

Her weapon is pretty bad ass. If this gets an EU release I will probably buy a psp.
