Square Enix is notorious for keeping their voice casting plans under wraps, but it looks like one in particular has slipped away from them.
An actor by the name of Jay Preston has outed his involvement in Final Fantasy XV on his own website as well as his own Linkedin page. While we’re unable to attach him to any specific character, it’s interesting to see Square Enix reach out to a rather unknown actor for their big next generation bet.
The Japanese cast has largely been known for a good two years already and includes the likes of Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Noctis), Kenta Miyake (Gladiolus), Mamoru Miyano (Ignis), Tetsuya Kakihara (Prompto) and Hiroki Touchi (Cor). Final Fantasy XV remains firmly in development with a release date some time in the future

if anyone's familiar with Jay Preston, its a little difficult to imagine which character he might be portraying. but i'm guessing he's goign to do either the old man villain

From listening to his samples I don't think he'll be playing an old character, but maybe not one of the really young ones either? It's so hard to tell.

But I think it's great that he's not a well known voice actor yet has been given a part in such a massive game.

im also guessing red hair man. not only do they have similar style, but the only voice i can imagine concretely. using renons voice for japanese version simply because hiis hair was red seemed stupid. hope english doesnt use quinn.

Given Square Enix's recent voice "talents" I'm not going to hold my breath here for anything even remotely resembling quality voice acting...but I suppose it's better than the standard JRPG/anime crew that Namco Bandai recruits for every single game in the Tales series. Variety is nice...if quality isn't sacrificed. And, considering this is Square Enix...yeah, optimism isn't going to factor into the picture here.

Part of me suspects Brad Swaile will be Ignis.

IDK Square landed troy baker before RE6 and The Last of Us so I wouldn't completely say they're voice-acting is bad (12 was really good). That said, I have NO idea who this is

They can get the best voice actors they can in a recording booth, but the result will still be no good if the direction and material given to work with are awful. Ali Hillis and Troy Baker are a testament to that. In another game, they produce good to excellent performances.

Not much to say about this guy, really. He can be good, or he can be bad. But at least it's a fresh face who has a CV with voice acting credentials, not someone just hauled off the street. I wouldn't want another game to be full of the usual voice actors, even if some of them like Laura Bailey have a surprisingly good range.

I don't even care who he is I'm just thankful we're getting somewhere. It's been so long... so long where news hasn't involved a certain pink-haired-emocentric-Cloud Strife-wannabe and what fucking dress she'll be wearing on that day.

Couldn't be happier with this. I look forward to the coming months ahead. Especially after February.
