During Sony's TGS 2011 Keynote, Square-Enix dropped a bombshell. As a way of celebrating its tenth anniversay Final Fantasy X would receive the HD treatment for the Vita and PS3. Since then, we haven't heard much about either version of Final Fantasy X HD. The last time we heard about it was in early January when original producer Yoshinori Kitase would be overseeing the project.
There has been much debate about whether FF X HD would be an HD remake similar to Halo Combat Evolved: Anniversary Edition, or an HD remaster like the rest of Sony's PS2-era collections. After almost five months of being left in the dark, we finally have the answer.
During an interview at Taipei Game Show, Square-Enix's Shinji Hashimoto revealed that Final Fantasy X HD would in fact be a remastered version of the 10-year old PS2 classic.

For people who are disappointed, keep in mind that remastered games still look great in HD. The gameplay and such that we all loved is untouched (thank God). Sure, it might not be up to par with XIII or XIII-2, but it certainly won't look like a PS2 game anymore.
