They're like the XX in as much as they both rely on programmed drum beats and they both have keyboards, but Beach House are Chill Wave, it's all very light whereas the XX are more serious. I hate Vampire Weekend so I don't know how they compare to them.

Ok I ended up searching a bit to listen to them. Try as I might i could not find that king of carrot whatever one anywhere besides really bad fan made versions and I didn't want to potentially ruin it for myself by listening to those.
I did find in the Aeroplane over the sea though
it had some shite fan made video but the song was the real one and I really liked it the tune was real catchy and the instruments were nice, though I am not so sure on his voice
I could not watch either of those youtube clips you posted for me because they have been blocked in my country or some shite
