[22/08] Final Fantasy Type-0's Trey and Cater Introduced

Two more Class Zero students were introduced in V-Jump. Trey, a loquacious and calm student who takes care of his appearance, wields a bow and arrow. Cater on the right has a magic gun. She comes off as confident and has a frank manner of speaking. These characters, as well as King of the Summoned War-Gods Bahamut, are in Final Fantasy Type-0.

The magazine also introduced an attack that isn’t in the playable demo. Final Fantasy Type-0 has Trinity attacks where three characters team up and attack an enemy. These combination moves do more damage than regular attacks and don’t have a limit on how often you can use them.

Combination attacks for Ace, Deuce and Trey are: Straight Rush, Dead Ensemble, and Crisis Arrow. Nine, King, and Queen have: Zero Distance Shot, Hornet, and Linear Rush.

(All Class Zero characters have been formally introduced in some way bar Cinque, the mace girl.)

Final Fantasy Type-0 comes out on October 12 in Japan.

And looking at Cater, I can imagine Selphie waltzing out of the hairdressers with a newfound cocky attitude, throwing away her nunchaku for a magic gun and putting on a new uniform.

Haha exactly. Lets hope not. So one character to be revealed. Any hint to how long before the launch in October?

I don't really know to be honest. Type-0 coverage in magazines tend to be random, going from major character introduction scans in one issue to just tiny miscellaneous gameplay details the next. The official website is even more unpredictable, though they tend to update their characters in groups of three bar Machina and Rem. Trey, Cater and Cinque aren't up there yet, but I can imagine they will soon enough. They would want the whole ensemble up there before October anyway.

Trey looks really sexy, he looks almost like Kain Highwind in a way.

I hope he isn't a jerk, otherwise he will defiantly be my main.

Its like you are comparing for the sake of comparing, give Cater long hair and you'll find some other FFchar to compare her with......Im sick and tired of all the people constantly comparing..

She looks fine her haircut is more fuzzy than Selphie's, different hair colour and different personality her eyes seems different too because Selphie was too kind of a girl and Cater would eat you and spit you out (judging by her intense look) .....even her skin tone is way different...

Still no Cinque? Well that is a bummer. They will have to reveal her soon. It can come as early as next month, or as early as in a few weeks. Cater looks pretty badass with that magic shotgun. Trey... well he kind of reminded me of Ace at first. Just looks like an older ace to me. If he does take care of his appearance, he must be the type of "pretty boy". Haha this could get interesting. These will no doubt be up on the official site soon, and that leaves Cinque to be revealed. I like the descriptions because it tells you how they are like, and you sort of get an idea in the final game.

I'd say Cater looks more like an adult Shelke than Selphie...Trey looks like Cloud with flattened hair. Honestly, there hasn't been a single original design in Type-0 yet, it's like it's a crossove game for the lesser known characters of the FF series. Dissidia for secondary characters. And Gilgamesh.

Also, if they you can Tri-Attacks, then they need to have a character named "Ex" so we can have a "Deuce Ex Machina" combo attack. Just because. But...no limit? That seems to me to be a bit of a stupid move...

Well I apologise if you're actually a PR spokesman on behalf of Nomura and I've touched a nerve. God forbid people not always being astounded at the splendour of every one of his character designs.

When people make first visual impressions of a design, surely (as well as deciding whether it looks good or bad or meh) it's natural to be reminded of another character and think "hey! There's a slight resemblance to so and so" from time to time? It's not like I'll be hating on the game for the character designs anyway, considering I've no real problem with the slightly recycled look of several of the cast.
