Lone Ninja
Ex-Soldier
I love this game. I haven't played it in almost a year, however, I still catch myself thinking about this game and wanting to play it every so often.

Started up yet another file for this game yesterday. I've been playing Tales of Vesperia for the last few months, and I find it amazing just how much better Symphonia is in pretty much every area. I even prefer Symphonia's (a Gamecube game) graphics to Vesperia's (a 360 game). Better characters, boss battles, soundtracks, locations, battle system (though they're all similar), and plot twists.
I so need to find this game. Im gutted as I was bidding for it on ebay and someone beat me to it by £1.50! I need it badly![]()
I want to get that game real bad, but I cant find the time to buy it. I heard that you can use the heroes from the prequel, so it should be a fun, nostalgic experience.

Oh wow, that's really surprising.I hate to bump an old topic, but I also didn't want to start a new topic for the same game series.
The sequel to this game is out in Europe today at long last.

That's true, I just figured as it was the sequel to it, it'd be ok. I couldn't find a "Tales of" series topic, somebody should open oneWell, Tales of Symphonia isn't a game series, Knights of Ratatosk is merely a sequel; it should be fine to make another thread for an entirely different game, I would think.
Heh ^^ I quite like Emil so far *ducks* he'll toughen up on his own I have no doubt. His voice is a pain though I'll admit.
Probably should so that things in the sequel will make sense. If they start talking about Renegades, Desians, Summon Spirits, half-elf racism, why talk ofAt least I got unstuck in Symphonia 1, now I'm not sure if I should at least finish that one first or play 2 that I've just bought haha.
nowai, kratos is hot D:Richter looks like a clone of Kratos, I actually thought it was him until they named him. Sigh.
If he's anything like Luke Fon Fabre, I feel really bad for Nephry.![]()
QFT.nowai, kratos is hot D:
richter is pretty <_<
My brother and I were going to start a file on ToS 2 yesterday but the Wiimote batteries were dead.![]()
I watched my brothers play a bit when I first got the game for them and so far Emil appears to be an annoying little twat. >_> It would be quite hard to top Luke though.
Instead of ToS 2, we decided to play ToS. I always forget how completely awesome this game is when I haven't played for awhile. It's one of those games that I never get tired of playing.
And for those who are looking for it, I see used copies at Gamestop often. Amazon is another possibility. The New price at Amazon is ridiculous but you can probably find a good used copy for a decent price.
I was really disappointed to find that the second game left you with a pansy, a freak, and a Pokemon for your lasting party while everyone else made cameos in a plot much bigger than them. I also wasn't a fan of all these new plot elements being shoved down my throat in the game's opening scenes and exposition.I've heard that a lot of people who played the original didn't really like the sequel. The only reason I'd actually even wanted to play is a revamped Lloyd and Zelos and because I didn't think the main character would sound like someone that makes me want to vomit.![]()
The two characters you mentioned were my friend and I's favorites (not counting Sheena in all her curvaceous glory). So their respective shift in role and absence from the game was quite the personal blow as well.
Well, wait, I might have worded that to give off the wrong idea. Zelos doesn't take on a Kratos role at all, actually (thank goodness). He remains himself all the way, and he actually displays very admirable qualities through his involvement in the plot. That's sad to hear, but not all that surprising. I mean, after all, even in the very beginning of the introduction of Zelos' character, he was keeping tabs on Lloyd's group and leaking information to The Renegades and Cruxis.
That, and well, this game throws a veil of shadows over Lloyd's character, so it's not difficult imagine why he'd be playing a Kratos-esque role.
dammit, i wonder if there's a ToS2 manga or something somewhere. Now I want to know the frickin' story D:

When the "new gang" properly meets Zelos. They ask him where his "bastard" friend Lloyd is. This insult irritates Zelos, and he responds by telling them that he won't associate with anyone who looks for confrontation with his "bastard friend".
Later, Lloyd is accused of a terrible crime that's even personal to Zelos. He, however, stands by Lloyd and defends his name to Emil.
He's actually the only character who truly believes in Lloyd from the start.
He proves to be very perceptive, and loyal to a fault.
For his character, it was just his relative absence from the game that was a disappointed (albeit expected after you played through like ten minutes of the plot).
Well see--and I hope I'm not spoiling anything for you, but this is just a gameplay aspect--there really is no "party" to have fixated outside of the three main characters of the game (one of which doesn't fight). You kind of recruit the characters of the past as you encounter them at various times. So in a sense, everyone comes and goes depending on what point in the game it is.I'm sorry, I don't really understand what you're saying... You mean like, he's there in the party, but he's just quiet and not humorously obnoxious?
In case you misunderstood, I meant likecomes and goes with helpful information now and then / helps out in an extremely critical situation. not playing a traitor to two sides, following the faction that he feels he can place his faith in.
