I have TWO major issues with this place

Added Cut Materia

Is it always in the same place or is it random? I actually found it this time without hving to scour the whole fucking place and collapsing every 5 minutes. It's easily the most irritting to get....

Anyway, I found it at the top of that hill thingy, on the far right which branches off two paths to the left and one that goes right over

I went right over and found it a couple of paths down. I'm rather pleased with myself actually because I can never find it/remeber where I last found it

And Alexander, generally just because that bit with the lollipop sticks pisses me off, and I collapsed just before I was walking through th edoor to see that stupid Snow Woman......

;akdwjfh. Stupid place

Yea i remember alexander being a total pain to get, i could never ever find that snow witcy woman, then after like an hour of searchin id find her but realise i never touched my hands in the spring water. Lollipops haha thats a pretty good way to put it lol no matter how carefull i was i always ended up goin squint and usually collapsing. I dont think ive ever got the added cut materia, never knew where it was.

Alexander can be a bitch. There was one time that I got to her but exactly the same time that I pressed circle to talk to the anti-social hag, Cloud passed out! Utter piss-take I tell thee.

I've always wondered about this myself, what IS the fastest way to get the materia

Alexander or Added cut?

Be more specific please :monster:

Edit* Or do you mean both? I always pass out at LEAST twice trying to get everything in that damn place, i take a left then a right on the snowboarding though.....or is that a right then a left.......so I know where Ive landed and can plan my route properly, even then Il pass out -__-

My only problem with the Great Glacier is the snowboard run. It's far too long with unresponsive controls. Getting lost and passing out was annoying in the end, but it was good for leveling and did make you feel more triumphant when you finally get everything. The musics kinda catchy too.

I didn't get either of the materia, I found this place to be a nightmare! Even with a guide I got lost, I was stuck in there for far too long, to the point where I just didn't care about the materia and I just wanted to get the hell out of there. -__-

I totally agree with you man, the guide was no help whatsoever. I would go to exactly where it said the materia was and I found some stupid damn item. And then I would pass out. I HATE THE GREAT GLACIER! I think it was the worst place in the entire game, just plain annoying.

i remember the one time in the Great Glacier i would get 2 steps away from the battle to get Alexander, and i would pass-out. it pissed me off so much that i just left without getting it. i went back in disk 3 and got the damn thing, but the whole first time around, it was just a monster pain in the ass.

I actually like The Great Glacier. Sure, it's frustrating passing out all the time, but it's a good oppurtunity to level up. I found the map of the area just plain confusing though, it seemed as though there was no actual route! >_<

ill admit its frustrating, enough to make me give up on it lol, havnt played 7 in a while and that place sends chills down my spine whenever i do thing about replaying

lol u get it? glacier = ice = chills................dam i am so not funny

:notfunny: :panic:

lol well I never had a problem with passing out every so odd minute.
Alexander was a pain to get mainly because I keep running back and forth trying to get to him and when I did get to him I found out that I was too weak to beat the hag.

I never got Alexander. -_-

And what's all this about passing out? I swear, the first and only time I played the game, I didn't pass out even ONCE. Lol, I made sure I stayed warm.

But you can't really keep warm when you're just exploring the field, you can only jog on the spot when you're actually climbing up the mountain. Maybe you were just REALLY fast ;))

When i didnt have the guide i used to draw the map so that i could know exactly where i was going to find her and the spring fast.

very very late, but Ive resorted to doing that hahahaha

Anyway, it's that time again shortly, and I'm bumpity numping the thread so I can remember where Added Cut is lurking :8F:

If only I knew it was on the last page :rage:

Once I'm down there, I'm gunna see if I can do a quick run to get both Added Cut and Alexander without passing the fuck out for once. I swear there's nothing more irriating than getting in that womans cave only to discover you haven't touched the cunting spring, or passing out just as you fucking well get in there. You'd think they'd have the sense to buy some warm clothing from that Icicle Inn :hmph:

Edit* Got everything, but I still passed out twice :hmph:

Yeah, if Alexander wasn't so kick ass I wouldn't get it. It takes so long to get it and it's so hard. I always get lost. :mokken:

I got Alexander once... never again.

:hmph: I hate the Great Glacier. TBH I think it is one of the most frustrating parts of the game, I think the last time I played I went through trying to find Alexander. Luckily I found the chick and had touched the spring and got him. While trying to find Added Cut I passed out and just gave up. I figure it would probably be hell just to find my way back to where I was so I say screw it. Worst. FFVII. Location. Ever. :ffs:

It's been a while since I played Final Fantasy VII so I barely remember the Great Glacier. I don't think I ever found Cut or Alexander because I didn't even know they existed. I was just following the main story at that point.

I always get furious in this part because I end up fainting. I always get the Added Cut materia first since it is easy to remember it's location. As for Alexander it is a difficult one to get because you have to touch the hot springs before you go to the cave. I remember when I was going to the cave after I touched the hot springs and fainted in the entrance of the cave. I was really angry at that moment because I had to start all over again from the beginning to get inside the cave and obtain Alexander. This is the most hated part of the game in my opinion. I always hated this part to be honest.
